This movie knew what it was and leaned into it. Its just serious enough to make you worry but just funny enough to laugh out loud. Great movie, great reaction. Tremors 2 keeps this magic even if it loses it a bit in later movies.
@popculturallychallenged And "Tremors 3: Back to Perfection" Many people don't like it for some reason, but I really do like. It's really worth watching
I am definitely NOT a fan of monster/thriller/scary movies but some reason (after you watch it might become clear why) I love this movie. Seen the sequels but only this one "grabs me" - pun intended.
Tremors feels like a college film class project, but that's part of its charm. Both Kevin Bacon and Reba McEntire have some of the best sarcastic comebacks in this whole movie. Side note: The little girl with the pogo stick was played by Ariana Richards, who's best known as Lex Murphy from Jurassic Park.
"Broke into the wrong goddamn rec room, didn't ya you bastard!" Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Reba McEntire. Mislabeled Fact: Part of the backlash this movie got (and currently gets), is that people judge the movie on the mislabeled "horror" genre. It's a "creature feature" movie, which is a subgenre of action/adventure. Genesis Fact: S.S. Wilson said that he got the idea for the film while he was working for the U.S. Navy in the California desert. While resting on a rock, he imagined what it might be like if something underground kept him from getting off the rock. Land Jaws Fact: When Chang (Victor Wong) is partially swallowed by the Graboid, it swerves back and forth before drawing back under the ground. It's almost identical to the scene near the end of Jaws (1975) where Quint (Robert Shaw) slides into the mouth of the giant shark and it swings back and forth with him in its mouth before sliding back into the water. Gun Enthusiast Fact: Burt (Michael Gross) and Heather (Reba McEntire) used the following firearms to kill the Graboid that burst into their rec room: Stey-Mannlicher SSG-PII, Winchester model 70, Winchester Model 1200 Defender, HK91A2, Colt AR-15 Sporter II, Remington 870, Sig Sauer P226, Ruger Redhawk, M8 flare gun, and then finally Burt finishes it off with a Belgian William & Co. 8 gauge shotgun (The Elephant Gun).
Back in like 1992 when I was trying to raise awareness of this movie by good old word-of-mouth, it was a tough sell. People would ask what it was about and I'd have to say, "OK, there's this remote valley with two idiots in it and there are these worms under the ground and...LOOK, JUST WATCH IT!"
I'm sorry but @ 10:52 was the most hilarious thing I have seen on this channel. Toni was about to climb into his lap and cover herself up! Her blanket was all over the place in this one. Great reaction to a fun movie.
When they filmed this movie it was called "Dead Silence.' They only changed the name to "Tremors" during editing when they decided to emphasize the comedy over the horror.
Seeing this in the bargain theater on a Friday night sold-out showing was probably my favorite movie-going experience ever. We were all there waiting for a good time, and we got it! Every time that Graboid camera angle started, we were all screaming “Get out! Run!! Moooooove!!!” at the screen. We laughed, we screamed, we cheered at the end. So much fun!
You are too sweet!! It was an entertaining movie and I'm glad I watched it but wish I could forget it just about now. Can you imagine if those things were real? 😳 - Toni 😂
I love the way that Rhonda keeps asking "Why do you keep asking me?" Nestor: "You're a scientist aren't you?" Melvin: "Yeah, aren't ya supposed to have a theory or sumthin'?" Play on the typical movie scientist who is an expert on everything ( archetypically the Professor on Gilligan's Island). P.S. "Nobody liked this movie:" says the only person who has ever not liked this movie.
I think she saw as much of the back of that blanket as she did the movie. 🤣🤣🤣 Extra points for the BUC-EE's shirt. The next 2 or 3 of the sequels are good too. ❤🤍💙
14 people in town and they can't manage to notify everyone. Girl pogosticking, that kid out there bouncing the ball and they just don't say anything. lol
Those giant sandworms looked like customized sweet potatoes. Made me cringe though. The ones in the Dune movies (of this century) I enjoyed and was in awe!
Funniest line of the reaction "it's a 1990 movie. It can't be that scary". I'd like to introduce you to 60s and 70s horror if you really want to be scared
Very hilarious reaction. Toni's reaction was more fun than the movie. I love this movie, own my own personal copy on DVD. This is one of those movies that's good to watch anytime. Bacon originally didn't like the movie but it eventually grew on him after he thought about how much fun he and the cast had making it.
You need a height indicator tape, like the ones stores put on door frames to measure the height of robbers. Slap it behind Toni and use it to measure how scary a movie is.

Tremors 2 would be a good idea with Spooky season right around the corner. Also add Deep Blue Sea from 1999. I would love to see Toni jump out of her seat again 😅. I thought she was going to run 😅.
Without even watching the rest of this, I'll both request, and suggest at least watching the second one. It's as good, in a different way. Bacon and Reba couldn't be in it unfortunately, but we do get Michael Gross (Burt Gummer) and Fred Ward RIP as Earl Basset.
One of my all time favorites! And my name is Toni, I once was telling how it sucks that its a female name in English world to a friend. She said "tell me aout it", her name being Marjo (pronounced Maryo)😂
Tremors is a great throwback to the B-movie creature features and has a great cast. I would only recommend watching Part 2, after that the series goes the Sharknado crazy route. Also, I believe this is where A Quiet Place got some of it's inspiration :)
Something to watch for in a rewatch , the brothers only posess a single lighter and paack of smokes. At no time does either posess both items at same time
This is my favorite creature feature movie. It is fun with a few jump scares. The characters are perfect and not distracting; though I do hope Melvin gets chomped on every rewatch...*sigh* he doesn't.
Just to get to see Toni react is awesomeness.... 😊 ❤ A very low budget film that received great reviews... Kevin Bacon was at a low point of his career and just needed a paycheck. Initially he was not proud of this movie though later on he was proud and delighted at what this film has become. 😊
"That's not funny!" Oh, yes it is! Of all the movies to make you jump out of your seat, it's Tremors: one of the most fun, well-made creature features in its class. You'd be surprised at hoe much they get out of this franchise. Although, I haven't seen anything past the 4th movie, the sequels are a lot of fun. 1 and 2 are the best of them, though.
OH have I been waiting for this one...👋😅 One of My Favorite Movies of all time, and maybe My 'Next' Guilty-Pleasured Reaction too! (LOL) Sorry Toni😇but "We ❤🩹You!"

"Tremors": The low budget movie that rose to the top of the box office with a mix of Humor, Horror and Romance.;) Kevin Bacon made "Tremors" at a low point in his career. Then he said: "Yeah, I made 'Tremors." These days he says: "Hell yeah, I made 'Tremors!" What's next? Looking over your videos, "Alien" (1979) isn't listed. Will you board the commercial towing vehicle "Nostromo" any time soon? Back then, newspaper and TV ads said only: "In space, no one can hear you scream."
Wasn't it a box office flop that exploded in the home movie market?
Thank you. 😃
You're welcome! 😊 - Toni
Please also review these Tremors movies:
Tremors 2,
Tremors 5: Bloodlines
Tremors: A Cold Day in 🔥, and MY FAVORITE
Tremors 4: The Legend Begins ?!
Tremors 3 is ok, but not nearly as great as the rest...
There's also a Tremors TV Series that lasted only 1 season, but it does have several really good episodes!
I love this whole franchise. 1-3 are great. 4 is a good prequel. 5 on they go downhill story wise but still fun.
Good to know, How many are there? I haven't looked it up but i'm now curious. - Toni 🤓

You weren't even a little scared? - Toni 😔😲
@@popculturallychallenged not at all. The ONLY movie that scared me is a film called sinister. I highly recommend it. Cameout maybe 6 yrs ago!
This movie is such a guilty pleasure of mine lol. Its cheesy and hammy but still good. Very simple story and great characters. Man i think this has to be the most wiggliest movie for Toni yet lmao 🤣. Yes theres a bunch of these but after 2 they get kind of uhh not good
