This is the arcade version and Irem probably hasn't put it on a home console compilation because of the licensing. The original home console versions were side-scrolling action-platformers by Sony Imagesoft (if you've ever played or seen Skyblazer on the SNES it's the same engine but flight is limited by how much fairy dust you have) with pretty good ports of the John Williams movie score (especially the SNES version). Speedruns of the SNES version in particular are incredible, almost on par with classic-style Castlevania speedruns in technique and skill, and there's even an infinite lives exploit in a particular caves level if you're patient enough.
I seriously can't believe you guys have been doing this for this long and are still this funny together. I think you guys nailed it with this video especially near the end. I don't laugh often at videos, and I'm dealing with bad back pain right now, but you guys still managed to make me laugh and a lot too, thank you. Sincerely, a viewer since 2012.
Real talk, Hook is one of my favorite movies of all time, definitely in my top five, regardless of how flawed the actual content is. Also, I played the fck out of the SNES version of the game until I beat it, way different experience from this arcade version and plays more like another SNES game Skyblazer if you've ever heard of it.
Not a popular opinion, but I feel Hook is Spielberg's most underrated movie by a long shot. I'd put it in his top 3. I'd honestly even put it above Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and all the Indiana Jones films.
HYpe!! Hook was one of my favourite movies ever growing up. I didn't even know about this game, I'll have to try this one out with my kids. Thanks again for the videos y'all!
love the movie had no idea there was a game, this looks really cool I would love to play this myself, man it is nice to see you guys playing a retro beat-em up, you guys still got it! both the skills and the funny!
What I never got about this movie was how we were expected to believe that Peter Pan forgot about that whole part of his life. Especially considering how it spanned for several decades, as shown by Wendy's aging.
@@gurvmlk I've never read the book, but that's what I always figured from watching Hook a ton growing up. I think it's that growing up makes you forget, but Wendy never grew up and always kept her inner child.
@@L33PL4Y To be fair, the growing up thing does make more sense as an adult than it did as a kid. Nearly middle aged, I do find myself having far fewer memories of childhood than I expected I would have, since as a kid I took for granted that those memories would never fade due to how fresh they were at that time, and a lack of foresightful perspective. Nevertheless, the fact that he was Peter Pan for decades, or maybe even centuries, still made that logic kind of fall flat for me. But Neverland is a magical place, so I suppose there could be magic about leaving as well. As for Wendy, if forgetting is true, she probably didn't forget because of circumstance. Peter kept visiting her, which created memories outside of Neverland. And those memories probably anchored her memories of Neverland to her mind.
Holy shit, this game looks awesome! I love the terrible NES Hook and I want to play the SNES Hook, but I didn't even know this arcade Hook existed! Each version is a totally different game, too.
Sometimes i pretend I'm sitting on the couch too
All the things to reference for Bob Hoskins' career and you don't get mario or roger rabbit xD
To be fair, those are the big and easy ones. Worth it to hear some other/more obscure ones.
So many years of great episodes, thanks guys!
Loved this movie as a kid, Bangarang!
The turned Hook into a BEAT 'EM UP!? ;D Did NOT see that coming ;).
Hold on why did I NEVER know about this?! I love Hook and this woulda been so badass to play!

Thanks for the years of support. We just like doing what we do.
This is another of those games that I swear looked photo-realistic back in the day.
Holy shit I used to watch y'all all the time like 10 years ago. Glad you're still putting out videos
Welcome back! We're just over here doing our thing.

The end of this episode was perfection. Y’all always make me laugh every week 🔥🔥🔥
The only thing that would've made it better was if the bomb maneuver were an epic maneuver.
Somebody make the Lost Boys in Street Fighter 6
Thudbutt gets a Blanka ball and Honda's butt stomp
Thank god Rom is ok
I miss this era of Beat em up games. Great episode!

Not sure I'd sub it for all of those movies, but agree on it being unfairly maligned.
2:25 I can't believe the subtle Yu GI OHHHHH reference went unnoticed. 💀
Thanks for the laughs
The editing had me laughing after a long day, thank you! 😂😂

I recently finished watching the Jumanji Animated series from the 90's, they made Robin Williams character hench AF in that cartoon.

The whole idea is that when you leave Neverland and grow up, you forget it, like waking up from a dream. Wendy was special because she didn't forget.
@@L33PL4Y Is that mentioned in the book? Because the movies never gave any reason to assume that to be the case.

First movie I ever saw in theaters
I'm absolutely, 100 percent vanilla. Correct call.
Bob Hoskins was Mario in the Super Mario Bros. movie.
Peter Pan: Lord of the Flies
