Nothing like the pure white light from a Xenon. I have an Eiki EX2000 Xenon, terrible projector, but bright and white light. I have a Elmo GS1200 Super 8 Xenon which is fantastic and have converted several 8mm and 16mm projectors to Xenon using G.E. Gemini short arc lamps. Again, fantastic. 😊
Hello, thank you for your comment. I would like to equip my Hortson T70 with a Marc 300 lamp, but I do not have a power supply for this one. What do you recommend as a rectifier for this type of lamp?
my kind of hobby,,,,but only limited ,those days no money 55 years back...love it.memories are back. we had one in school .but only two times a year we had chance to see ...

Wow! I've seen Hortson 16mm Theater Projectors but this is the 1st T70 I've ever seen. Looks like a similar Geneva Type Intermittent used in the Eastman 25,30/40 Professional Projectors. I have a Model 30 that I bought new in 1968. This Projector should have a Rock Steady Image with that Star/Cam Intermittent. Being also Optical/Magnetic Sound, I'm sure this Projector was very expensive in it's day. The only other portable 16mm with a Star/Cam Movement that I've Seen is the Philips FP70 but it's intermittent wouldn't be considered a true Geneva Star/Cam type movement. It also has Left hand threading which I'm not a fan of. Beautiful and Rare Projector(T70) not commonly seen in the USA. Would love to add that to my 16mm projector collection; definitely a keeper. Nice Scope Lens also, Enjoyed The Video!
Thank you for your comment . This projector is indeed quite rare, even in France. Most of the Hortsons were left-loaded. They made some traditional right-loading models like the T70 in this video. The only modification I made was to replace the original lamp (220v, 1000w) with a much more modern lamp (24v, 250w) and this one illuminates much more than the original one and above all, heats up much less.
Is that 8-point starwheel illustration accurate to the mechanism in the projector? I for one don't like the sound pick-up threading path (a lot of sharp turns to accommodate both magnetic and optical tracks), and there seems to be no true take-up sprocket
The lamp housing on this rather nice machine, is not unlike the earlier Bell&Howell range, with the grey finish. This Hortson, not a name I am familiar with seems quite quiet in operation, I think B&H machines are noisy. The quietest 16mm I ever owned was a Rank Aldis which I think was made by Bauer and was also badged as a Philips.

Mein san 1983 mein Jabalpur mein Cenema projectionist course kiya dha. Uss dowran mein 16 mm 35mm aur 70mm film aur projector ka bare mein badiya jankari hasil kiya hain. Sabse badiya baat yea hain, film mein print kiya huve alag alag frame jab projector se chalane par harkkat karthe huve (pristance of vision )kaise hojatha hain? Projector ka kaam aur apani aakho ka sambandh bahuth jankari aur reproduction of sound kaise kiya jatha hain, bare mein achi jankari hasil kiya. Abb yeh vedio dekhkar whohi purana yaad aaya. 💐💯
