This was my first cine projector. I never realised what a complicated ting it was. I accummulated a large collection of 50 foot reels. and longed for a model Kid which took 400 foot reels. I could rent these at the local camera shop. My favourite was called "Piggyback Plane" Which showed a small plane on the back of a Sunderland. It also had very good views of my house on the bank of the river Medway in Kent UK
EXCUSE ME?! This is absolutely mind-blowing! Not only the fascination of such an analog, mechanical invention that was perfected 100 years ago - but the CRAZY amount of work that went into restoring this. I am just shaking my head in disbelief... Freaking amazing...
This was worth every minute watching you restore this piece of film history back to working order! I cannot believe how it looks like brand new. Just excellent hard work and a lot of it. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you ! So many parts 😓 I was surprised to see it running so well at the end 😌👍 Unfortunately the rolls are in very bad shape, almost all of them 🤷♂️😔
Agreed! I could watch hours of content like this. I’m still just a kid from the early 1960s.. my father taught me filmmaking when I was only 6 or 7. I went on to become a television station engineer and am always fascinated by how intricate and ingenious these old devices are. Fantastic job!
Superb job! As an American, it's the first time I've seen a 9.5mm projector in working order! Love the attention given to the gate and the pressure pad--and the fact you had a working lamp at all. And the shutter timing was spot on. Worked with 8mm to 35mm, so I understand how precise the mechanism needs to be.
I have one of these in beautiful original condition and with the original optional motor, which was sold as an accessory. Truly wonderful quality engineering.
I love how old stuff was always made with so much care and thought, so it's lovely to see how much care and thought you put into restoring these! Thank you for amazing content :D
What a splendid job you did restoring the "Pathe Baby" movie projector. So skillfully done. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. I bet it took a lot of skill to get the inner parts in time with the film frames. Excellent work.
Un capolavoro ! Sono felice che nel mondo ci siano persone come noi che abbiano la capacità di ridare vita a questi oggetti... magari fosse così anche per gli uomini... o le belle donne sfiorite
What a beautiful little machine, so intricate and well engineered. I love that you could see the file marks from the factory on some of the castings. I can't believe that you had the courage to take it apart. Your restoration is beautiful to watch and I can only guess at the amount of work involved. Wonderful. 😊

You are a great restorer and I thought you specialized in restoring trains but I have learned that you have great skills beyond that and that is what makes you a great restorer.keep up the great work you do and I will keep watching you.
In the 90s I worked at a production house that had one of these projectors. For a time, we were the only place that had one that was functional enough to transfer the 9.5mm film to (then) video tape. Getting the hang of hand cranking and keeping a consistent, correct time was pretty tough. We got referrals from the Smithsonian at one time. It was pretty interesting film to watch, that was for sure.
In the early twentieth century, engineers designed devices made of simple, strong metal materials that rotated by hand and did not require electricity. In addition, the easy and simple way they were designed made them work and last for a hundred years or more. And here we see, all of these devices are still working to this day. It may need some maintenance and lubrication of the toothed circular gears, which will make it work properly, and be more beautiful, when it returns again to its original shape as it was nearly a hundred years ago, as this expert, the owner of the video, did, who restored this unique masterpiece, this projector, to its youth. The first was in the year 1924 AD. Today, most of our devices and equipment are made of plastic and operate with electricity. They can work for quite a long time, but they will not last long. A great achievement, the owner of the video. I admire your work, 👍
Very rare that you can reuse an original belt from something this old, same for the original tapes. Wonderful project, reminds me that I have a film projector of my own that needs some work.
In my childhood I was too fond of projecto but my journey was up to still film projecter of 35mm. But the spirit in me is still thirsty for such things. Best work of Restoration .👌👍🙏👏

Thanks for restoring this precious old projector 📽️ this is not just a machine this is part of technology revolution.
The engineering and machining that went into that projector is incredible!
I agree; that old technology was impressive!
It's the way everything of yesteryear was made. Made to last.

Undeniable!
In the past things were made as well as they could be. 😊
Yes, I agree with you🙂
Great restoration!
From this to have 4K cameras in our pockets. It's impressive (and scary) how much technology has evolved in just 100 years.
A 4K projector is still a wee bit bigger than this though. Then again, a camera in those days was a bit bigger too, I imagine.
Nearly 100,
To be fair, this isn't a pro quality projector, it's only a step up from a kids toy, albeit a beautiful made one.
