I love this Knife carry it backpacking here in Pennsylvania alongside of my beavercraft bushcraft knife , i use the mora for most of my work and use the beavercraft for battoning
This was my first Mora so it didn't seem expensive. The new Ash wood series, now that's expensive, too expensive. I got the Eldris and the small wood carver and stopped. Those 3 give me a decent combination. Canada.
Another great review mate. While I was hiking, I was attacked by a hawk. I had my aluminium walking stick on me, an old mop handle with a rubber foot and bicycle handle. The first time it swooped me from the front and I didn’t really notice. Second swoop was from the back, it nipped me under my arm then landed about 10 meters in a tree off to my right. I faced it, raised my stick and it took off. It came in really low so I had to duck low, my walking stick was preventing me from getting low so I flipped it under my arm, up behind me. The hawk swooped right over my back and I caught it in the head and wing with my stick. It dropped a meter behind me. I swung my stick back to finish it but decided to leave it. What an asshole bird. Dented my stick it hit that hard.
@@411Outdoorsno doubt! Joe X put both knives to the extreme torture and they both held up well. I still have my eyes on that strong arm. It’s tough being a knife freak!
@411Outdoors thanks for answering brother love and respect from Pakistan.. Unfortunately we cannot buy things from amazon or Ebay or any reputable international website so we have to pay double the coat of e every knife we get imported. So I really have to do my homework before choosing the right product.
You really have great videos bro I'm linked in every one I run across I was a big fan of donnie b all day sadly I found out he is presently in court for something with a under age child what a waste of knowledge and a let down to many followers of his page. you seem to have a good head on your shoulders much respect
I picked mine up recently for 60 bucks and is about as perfect a heavy duty hunting knife I have ever had. For most camping needs that don’t require beating the knife through a log or prying it open, I still prefer the Kansbol.
If you’re holding it in traditional grip, it lacks hand protection in my opinion, but it is most definitely solid if you flip it over and do a reverse/ ice pick grip
Do you like the rubberized handles on MoraKinves? I think they make a quality knife well worthy of micarta scales. And I'd be happy to pay extra for them to reflect that.
In my opinion they need to do something different with the handle like the companion with that rubberized feel although it's a lot better if you wrap it a little bit and some griptape like some hockey tape. As far as a better leather sheath BPS Savage makes a real nice one that fits tight. But I do agree the blade is sharp and feels balanced
Buy a cheap mora companion and practice sharpening, wet and dry paper taped onto a board works great, 400 grit up to about 3000 grit . Then strop on a leather strop paddle.
I own the stainless version and I don't rate it. I prefer both the Bushcraft Black and the 2000 over the Garberg. There is also the cost factor; it is ridiculously expensive here in Australia and there a far better knives to buy for around the same cost. Thanks for posting your thoughts and it was cool to watch your spear making process.
I'm not a fan. I have lot's of experience with knives but prefer my blades to have a finger guard -- especially a more heavy duty knife you'd take out in the wild. A slip can happen so fast, especially when sleep deprived or freezing hands, etc. Not worth the risk IMO.
Only bad thing i heard about the mora Garberg is the handle not having a finger protector...but thats about it, just be careful using it and i think a lanyard would help allot to not make you slide to the cutting edge with your hand
I guess as long as you're not using it for self defence it won't be an issue. And if I had to id put my thumb over the back of the pommel and use it in a kind of reverse hammer grip if it was all i had at hand in that scenario. But if you're only using it for bushcraft and have other means of dealing with bears or dangerous animals then its a great knife and in over 2 years hard use I've never slipped down it and done myself a nasty.

I think it’s it an all around survival knife that’s for sure, love their workmanship. Way to go on another wonderful episode and thanks for tips ❤
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
You said it best, "It is the dream Mora."

Great video and a really good review. Thanks for the plug.
Appreciate you brother! I hope you get some subscriptions. I’m gonna give you another shout out on that Tops knife.

Good knife and quality method of spear making👍
Thanks so much!

Glad you enjoyed it!🙂
Great knife and video
Thanks bro!
Grease it up son. Fantastic. 😀
Thanks bro! 🙂
I agree with you 100 percent. I love my mora garberg
The leather sheath is fantastic. It also rides a lot better on your belt. Definitely worth the extra bucks!
Totally agree!

Wow! I have Ben swooped before and it’s scary. Glad you caught that mofo 😂
I can handle being swooped by magpies but this bird was huge & angry. I was lucky to come out best off.
I have one and find it's about the right size for wood processing and general work.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this knife👍.🇺🇲🔪🔥🌲
On my way to Mora today! There is a knife outlet by Lake Siljan that I´ll visit.
It is surprisingly a good knife. I went back and forth between the strong arm and the garberg, I chose the garberg.
I think the strong arm is stronger. No pun intended, but the Garber does slicing an intricate work better.

Greatly appreciated!🙂
oil and sweat are secreted by skin differently thats why your not always sweaty or hot when your oily
Can it be used for knife fight in combat?
Absolutely👍 that being said, I would use the ice pit grip because it doesn’t have much of a hand guard

A couple of Bic lighters will always be my first grab... if other, more manual methods get used, it's just for practice... Great video 😃

I always use my nose to grease the pieces of my breakdown fly rods. Do your fish, friend?
Not as much as I would like to I need more fishing in my life haha

💯
Can you try plumbata throwing darts?
Would love to try that

Micarta would be great! I agree
advise i live in ms ..ss or carbon version im torn between them which to buy and why any advise appreciated 👍
I would get the carbon steel one, if you’re going to do heavy duty
@@411Outdoors maybe some battoning nothing to thick tho
@@wolfpacak47 yeah definitely carbon🙂👍
@@411Outdoors ended up ordering the stainless

Most definitely. That dangling sheath is hard for me
My Garberg still has the factory edge and isn't as sharp as I think it should be. Does anybody know where I can have it professionally sharpened?
I’m not sure my friend. I just always touch mine up with a sharpens best. Very sharp knife for sure
