@gabriellopesmonteiro price, blade shape, handle weight, handle shape, blade material, bevel size and style, are all better on the Terrasaur. Only thing I like better on the Garberg is the sheath's belt loop.
For me one drawback with Condor Terrasaur it only has carbon steel. Is also more than $40 here in the UK, more like $60/70 which is closer to the Garberg.
I just received my first Mora Garberg... This knife is EPIC !!! Build quality is superior. The one thing I really like about this knife that no other knife has is that it has a short drop at the point allowing this knife to be extra strong. Other knife makers tend to make a false blade on top in taper it an inch back. This knife does not. The taper is less than 5 mm, which gives the knife a whole lot of strength up front. For 70 bucks this is the best knife there is...
You did an excellent job comparing these two models. And, it's clear that they are very closely comparable. So much so that despite the slightly better fit and finish on the Mora, at *half the price* the Condor just seems like the better of the two when they're neck-and-neck on performance. And this is coming from not just a Mora fan, but as someone who is not impressed by Condor Tool & Knife in general. (Speaking from experience with their products.) However, can't argue with basically the same level of performance at half the price. So.... Literally just placed an order for a black handle Condor Terrasaur a few minutes ago, on your website. Honestly, the biggest reason someone should pay more for the Mora is if they are determined to have this type, and size of knife in the stainless steel option.
I have condor and Mora’s, too. Agree with your comment in general. I have had nothing but great experiences with both. I feel more confident in my condor blade. (Bushlore vs companion.). I feel Mora makes a more finely finished product. While condor seems more rough and ready. To me there has only been one solution. Take both!
Thanks David, I appreciate all your videos. I just bought a Condor Terrasaur and I am very happy. The Mora is an excellent blade, however the Terrasaur won out. I have purchased many knife and machete blade designs by Joe Flowers and I love his work. Jimmy.
This mora garberg stainless steel i just got in is very nice, i got it for $54 and i feel like it stacks up with my Esee’s that i own and love and those cost double compared to this knife. And i can appreciate this mora garberg this is that one and only mora that is not ugly!!! Im impressed and i love this tool!!
Buy the Mora Garberg. I have both the stainless (first purchase) and the carbon Garberg. The steel is a better grade on the Mora's. After some use on my stainless Mora I decided to remove the secondary bevel edge and sharpened to a full scandi. It took a while using a series of japanese wet stones......now sharp as a razor. I like the full scandi so well I did the same to my Carbon Garberg only that carbon blade was sharpened alot faster.
Nothing I like better than a "beater Knife," and Condors are beater knives right out of the box. Their 1070 is tough in big knives, but sucked in a bushcraft knives (dulled quick). The 1095 Terrasaur holds an edge well, but you won't be too upset if lost or broken.
I had a Condor and returned it. It was the first full tang knife I purchased, but there were several things about it I didn't like. One, not very sharp out of the box. Two, not great for striking a spark with a fero rod. Three, fit and finish was blah. Going to try the stainless Mora Garberg. Fit and finish looks much nicer, and I don't have to worry about oiling the knife every time I'm done using it to keep it from corroding.

@@SheepEnlightener It's a cheap but decent full tang knife. The sharpness of a knife out-of-the-box says nothing about a knife's quality. You say $40 is not that cheap? Seriously? $40 is dirt cheap! Great review as always David. I have a boatload of Moras and like them all. I had a Garberg for a while and it just didn't do it for me and I actually preferred the Bushcraft Black. I'm going to try the Terrasaur and see how I like it. Thanks again for another excellent review.
I don't own either one of these knives nor have I used them. I can say this however I own 20 Mora's and only 2 Condor knives. I would continue to buy Mora's. I have been extremely happy with them. I had both sold the Terrasaur and my Garberg is my main to go for rainy days. I find the Mora Garberg/ Eldris/Kansbol handles to be hands down the most comfortable knife handles on the planet. I got hand fatigue with the Terrasaur and it slipped in my hand in the rain easier than the Garberg. I preferred the blade shape of the Terrasaur but overall the Garberg for me beat it every other way ... but for me Esee is still king.
Oh wow! Another one of those rare outdoor videos! So glad I found it! I wish they will be more possibilities for more of these, no matter how long or short!
ive battoned moras for about 20 years, usually with the stick almost as thick as the blade is long, and only ever had one of the older clippers with the 1/3 tang break.
Great review. Price is always a consideration and I’ve owned a Mora Companion (bought for $12, modified with 90 degree spine, etc by myself) for years and it works well for all the tasks I do (even batoning). The narrower tip on the Terrasaur makes it a better field knife in my opinion. You can always make a narrow divot larger it but it’s not so easy to make a wide divot narrower. I’d be interested in how they hold up over time (edge retention, corrosion resistance etc.) because time, use and maintenance are the test for everything.
Hi, very good review. I own the terrasaur for 2 years and am very pleased with it. I looked for something cheaper and lighter than the Mora, this is it. I'm not afraid to use it and it definitely can take a beating.
I made the Mora choice by the multimount option. Its so easy moving the knife with the sheet between the backpack, /bike mount and the belt mount. Super nice sliding out the sheet from the belt and mount it in the multimount. Excellent feature, I wonder why not all kvife producers have these feature.
Like the comparison at half the price, myself i own the garberg Stainless and a terrava jakaripuukko 140 in Stainless . Harder to sharpen but like the feel of those knives. And the jakaripuukko costs 2/3 of the garberg. But for all day use i take the Fin .
Cool video🙂 I’ve had a stainless Garberg since before the carbon came out. That knife is a beast. I beat the crap out of that knife! Just bring it home and wash it off in the sink and good as new 😂 it is a little tougher to sharpen though. I was really excited about talk of the terrasaur. The design has been around for a while. Fiddleback makes one. When it came out though I was kind of shocked at how badly they ripped off the Garberg. It’s an obvious knock off. They should have kept it with their awesome leather sheaths and wood handle. Maybe even sold blanks like other styles? It just left a bad taste in my mouth so I never purchased one
That's stainless garberg is a great knife. I am not a collector but have meny morakniv options there great for the price. Got my garberg for 66$ USD. Couldn't see spending 90-110 until I got it in hand and it's worth it but like the price break.
I found a video somewhere, David Canterbury I believe,.. Where he showed howTo baton wood by starting rhe split on top like you did, but then put the knife upsidedown on the chopping block with the wood on top.. Then you strike the wood with the baton driving it down onto the knife thus splitting the piece without directly strikinbthe knife blade. Pretty cool trick I thought I'd share. Thanks for the video.👍👍🤘🇺🇸
I enjoy minor modding so for me applying a burr on the spine for firestarting & refining the edge to improve the Condor's slicing power was no big deal. I chose it based on its wt., balance & value. For me it was a good choice. No complaints, it's a guilt free work horse.
Got one of the Terrasaurs. Ergonomics on the Terrasaur are great and MUCH better if you slip a bit of street bike inner tube over the handle (tip: get the piece of inner tube wet with some rubbing alcohol first, will slip on easier but you still may get blisters on your thumbs), adds a little cushiness and is *very* grippy. Sheath is a work in progress and that *is* a Mora ripoff. Retention is with a couple of nubs on the inside of the sheath that fit in the dimple in the middle of the handle. Apparently they at first had complaints that it was too difficult to get the knife out. It remains very awkward to get the knife out of the provided sheath but retention is now not very good at all, nubs don't grip it well enough now. Ditched the sheath, looks great in a leather sheath that came with my Kizlyar Yeti but am using a sheath i made myself for it (with the ranger band handle treatment, it rode much higher in the Condor sheath with a good friction fit and made the thumb ramp actually functional which was cool but left a couple of extra inches in length to the sheath and i didn't want to cut it). Didn't come very sharp, just barely 'utility' sharp. My copy appears to have an ever so slight hollow grind and wasn't a really beautiful, perfectly even grind so went with a secondary microbevel rather than put all that work into hand grinding a true scandi. Some iterations of this knife appear to have a slight recurve but the edge on my copy came pretty straight. Having difficulty getting it anywhere near as sharp as my Ka-Bar and i've gotten pretty good at putting fine edges on blades. The grind on the Terrasaur may not be beautiful but shouldn't adversely impact performance. There's something else that might. There's a problem nobody's talking about - the heat treat, it may not have one. What notes i could find on it, Condor says Rockwell between 50 and 55; that's quite a spread and pretty low for 1095 (ESEE says 56-58 and Ka-Bar says 57-59 for theirs, can't find anything on the Mora Garberg beyond a note about 'high hardness'). Have suspicions that even that '50-55' may be just a ballpark. Accidentally dropped the knife about 1.5 feet (~0.45 m), came down tip first on concrete. Didn't break. Didn't bend. It did mushroom. Seen that in lead bullets but can't say i've ever seen that in a knife before. i went with the Terrasaur over the Garberg because i actually like the design better for my own purposes (i really like the design) and the advertised weight of the knife is about 3 oz. lighter than the Garberg. Weight is an issue for me, really don't want to be carrying a ton of stuff. If Condor did a decent heat treatment on this, brought the Rockwell up to about 57-58 (and heat treating 1095 is no real complex job), any other issues with it i could take care of myself easy enough, wouldn't mind putting the work into, and at this price point it would be 6 stars on a 5 point scale in my book. As is and in my opinion, the Terrasaur is a decent beater utility knife but you can find those at a gas station for less and with better fit and finish and decent sheath at that. But if you've got a soft spot in your heart for mongrel puppy dogs, the Terrasaur might appeal to you. PS - got mine from Knife Center, great to do business with 'em, even in times of plague. (6 stars on a 5 point scale ;-)
Both are great knives. The only huge difference as you said is price and fit an finish. I say get both I did but I choose the Mora over the terrasaur when I go into the woods. 👊💀👍
I just bought a Morakniv Companion and for some reason, YT decided to show me this AFTER the purchase. Wish I had known about the Condor! Anyway, this was a great video.
I feel like everyone overlooks the Mora Kansbol. I absolutely love mine and cant imagine something better which made me weary about getting the Garberg. But after seeing this im definitely getting a Terrasaur
I have a Condor Otzi and I love it, but, it’s Mora all the way. I have several and I get a new one every year. Can’t beat the price and the quality. I spend a good amount of time outdoors and they will do almost anything.
I've beaten the ever loving piss out my Condor BUshlore and Kephart and used my nessmuk quite extensively but honestly my most used knife hands down that I trust the most is my Mora cLassic No 1. I find for Woodcraft and camp tasks it's hard to beat it. I do prefer not to baton it though I have with no issues. I always try to use the right tool for the job. I love Condor and Mora honestly if I had 90 bucks to throw it would be the Mora but if I was doint it ion a haevy budget it would be Condor. I really dont think you can go wrong
i have some 1095 knives and D2 folding, one is mora robust, and i use to go to the florest near litoral and i don't recommend to use carbon steels so near in the ocean, it is a little boring to resharp so often.
Great video again. I've recently started watching your videos and love the comparisons. Recently bought some things from you online. I for one would rather spend the extra for the quality. In my business it's the quality that keeps my customers coming back.
Good demonstration of these 2 knives on some common knife tasks. Given what you showed and described it appeared they were basically equal in performance. I understand the Condor might need to be sharpened out of the box, which is not an issue for me as I “sharpen” most of my “budget” production knives anyway. Also a couple minutes with a file would sort out any issues with the spine that you alluded to. So, it is basically price & weight or fit & finish in your demonstration. Price & weight win every time. I would go with the Condor. Having said that, I saw nothing in the demonstration that makes me want to give up my Mora Classic 2.
I lost my old Mora on a fast river bend while canoeing and I had enough Amazon points to get my Condor for $25, so I went with it. I would be happy with either and have no complaints.
I watch your table top vids and they are okay. But seeing you use and explain in detail differences to comparable tools. Fantastic! I'll prob just stick with my mora companion even if there's cooler knives out there.
There are much cooler and nicer knives on the market but very few I would rather use in the woods than a Mora..I carried a $8 511 as my main belt knife for the better part of a decade and it took me a long time to find a worthy replacement..I bought a Buck 119,Gerber Prodigy,Gerber StrongArm,Cold Steel Recon Scout,Cold Steel SRK,Cold Steel Recon Tanto,ESEE 4,Becker BK2,Becker BK16,Benchmade Saddle Mountain Skinner,Benchmade Hidden Canyon,Ka Bar USMC,TOPS Baja 4.5,TOPS Tex Creek 69,TOPS Overlander and a couple different Boker knives.all of these knives were nicer knives, all of these knives were full tang, all these knives had nicer scales and all these knives were great knives in their own right but for Bushcraft none of these knives could compete with that $8 Mora 511...I’ve long since bought knives that were worthy replacements like a Bark River Scandi Aurora,L.T. Wright Genesis,Bradford Guardian 4.5,Benchmade Puukko 200,TOPS Brakimo,TOPS Scandi Trekker,TOPS Mini Scandi,ESEE 3 and the ESEE RB3 Bushcraft..even with these much nicer knives,I still use my Mora knives because those Moras hold their own against any knife in my collection at a fraction of the price.its truly unbelievable what Mora has accomplished at such a low prices.I have that old 511 that I’ve used more than any other fixed blade I own and I’ve also bought the Companion,Robust,Kansbol and the Bushcraft Black and all of these are great knives, unbelievable for the price...I’m considering picking up the Garberg and the Condor Terrasaur..I just wish the Mora would’ve used micarta scales and a nice kydex sheath or a leather dangler for the Garberg.for the price of the Garberg I think Mora could’ve done better with the handle and the sheath
Well Dave Canterbury, who is one of the best survival instructors out there recommends Garberg for a reason. Its a great knife. The sheath you mentioned at the start is way better than Condor's. You can have a sheath with sharpener and firesteel with Garberg. Also lets be honest. When we are talking about cutting tools, Scandinavians are number 1. In every cutting tool category. Maybe not machetes, which is more a South American or African tool. Axes, saws and knives. They produce cutting tools from the Medieval times untill nowdays. Also the fact that you can have stainless steel or carbon steel options in Garberg is a bonus for me. I wouldnt use my knife for batoning. You can have an axe to split wood. Are you going out in the woods without an axe?! 😂😂. Knives are for the carving work for me. If the problem for you is the price, you can pick a Mora companion HD, which will perform EXACTLY like terrasaur and costs even less...
Funny how they traded places in the sheath department, as Condor is known for their excellent leather sheaths while Mora has used plastic forever. Good review, if I had to pick one I would go with the Terrasaur, price gap too wide for 2 very similar quality knives.
I agree, for the price of the Garberg I think it should’ve came with micarta scales and a decent kydex sheath or a leather dangler..the plastic handle and plastic sheaths are perfectly understandable when it comes to the Mora 511,Robust,Kansbol,Companion,etc..the only thing I like about these plastic sheaths is the fact they are ambidextrous.as a lefty this is very much appreciated..it’s very rare for me to be able to buy a fixed blade and not have to replace the sheath because sadly, factory kydex and leather sheaths are very rarely ambidextrous
The mora is excellent and the multimount makes it extra good. Wanted to buy the condor for half the price of mora but it was sold-out😂 I value the mora becouse of strength in tickness especially the tip and made it black whit coldbleu... Anyway good video, thanks
Out of experience with the excellent Kansbol, i would take the Garberg; however, the Condor seems excellent as well and more economical. No mistakes with these i believe.
I have both of these knives but for me condor all the way and all day love 1095 steel carbon takes a bit more work to keep it rust free but it’s well worth it for me just my two bits I love my carbon blades not a stainless steel fan thank you if you disagree that’s fine to each his own
My best friends dad made a leather sheath for my standard wood handle Mora back in the 80s when I was a kid. Still use it to this day. It's more or less exactly the same as the "high end leather sheath" presented here, but I guess he got there first.
You should definitely do more reviews like this. Outdoors and using them. Much better than the table tops. 2023 the garberg is only $20 more. I still chose the mora, but the condor looks interesting.
Good comparison of both knives. I recently bought both and returned the Garberg. Both are great knives, but price and over all design played a factor for me. I really like the condor. My all time favorite knife though is still the Mora high q robust (gray handle) the best knife for the money ever.
Great video, nice review. I am not searching for something extra and shiny, quality and price is what i am interested in. Condor Terrasaur looks like a great present for myself or family members :)
@@knifecenter yeah but the mora bushcraft black weighs like 2 ounces less than what they say it is. So I was wondering if anyone has actually weighed then
I love the Garberg but have not tested the condor yet. The Condor is not much cheaper here in Sweden and you can get the Garberg for about the same price as the Condor, still I would like to get my hands on it.
I like both. The mora handle appears a bit more to my liking. But, the finger guard on the condor is more to my liking. In terms of pricing I think the Bushlore might be the better comparison to the garners. I like the wood handles. Appears chunkier the Bushlore blade is a fraction longer. Of these two, I prefer the terrasaur. But only by a fraction.
and you can buy 2 Heavy Duty Mora Companions for the price of Condor Terrasaur. I got my Stainless Garberg for $65. So no, I wouldn't be able to buy two Terrasaurs for that price.
I got the terrasuar and I can say dull too hours to re work the profile with the tools I had just to find out I hate it I've never had a mora come dull and other then the spine need work
I'd bought the Garberg last year with the plastic sheath. Was so disappointed in the weight and balance of the knife, and the dollar store sheath I ended up returning them for refund. No regrets in sending it back.
That was an astoundingly good review.
Thank you Ryan!
Yes! I hope we see many more!
Speaking for myself, it comes down to the price. More videos like these will help you sell more knives. Keep pumping them out.

Great job. Thanks.

I agree on the narrower tip. It's really the only reason I'm considering the condor as I don't like the handle.

Astonishingly honest review. Price is the deciding factor for me and I have not been disappointed with my choice of the condor Terrasaur
Very honest unbiased review.
Thank you.
Excellent, relevant review. Had just ordered a carbon steel Garberg, but that Condor is now on the wish list...
Hi Mr I have a mora companion hd and a condor bushlore knife I would have to choose the condor in my opinion price and function
Excellent! More of these outdoor reviews would be great.
That was a wonderful comparison and contrast between these two knives.
Love my Garber w/ multi-mount. The pommel is great feature for stomping, hammering, fire starting ferrorod.
Definitely the Condor for me. Bang for the buck. More outdoor videos like this, please.
I made the Mora choice by the multimount option. Its so easy moving the knife with the sheet between the backpack, /bike mount and the belt mount. Super nice sliding out the sheet from the belt and mount it in the multimount. Excellent feature, I wonder why not all kvife producers have these feature.
Forget that there is a neck/strap included in the multimount aswell. Have not used yet though
Like the comparison at half the price, myself i own the garberg Stainless and a terrava jakaripuukko 140 in Stainless .
Harder to sharpen but like the feel of those knives.
And the jakaripuukko costs 2/3 of the garberg. But for all day use i take the Fin .
Excellent review: I bought the Terresauer…..an totally happy with it.
Just got my condor and love the blade and find the thinner handel better for variations of carving more detailed work... liked your honest comparison.
👊💀👍
@faultroy I just bought both there both fun to have in the woods.👊💀👍
Morakniv Garberg 100 %
I just bought a Morakniv Companion and for some reason, YT decided to show me this AFTER the purchase. Wish I had known about the Condor! Anyway, this was a great video.
I feel like everyone overlooks the Mora Kansbol. I absolutely love mine and cant imagine something better which made me weary about getting the Garberg. But after seeing this im definitely getting a Terrasaur
The Kansbol is a great knife, easily one of my favorite knives in Mora’s lineup
Nice to see you outside
I just ordered a Condor :)
Great review!
I got lucky and was able to purchase my Garberg for only $55, not much more than a Terrasaur
I lost my old Mora on a fast river bend while canoeing and I had enough Amazon points to get my Condor for $25, so I went with it. I would be happy with either and have no complaints.
awesome demonstration , thank you and Wish you all the best of what your heart desire
Probably going to grab a Terrasaur for backpacking. I don't mind a rough-looking knife, because mine get some hard use.
Just got my Garberg carbon, I'm not a knife expert but it does cut wood like butter.
The BPS Knives BS2FT CSH will be my choice over these two together..
That was an excellent review. Well done.
This is the most open minded video in regards to the knives at hand. Thanks David
You should definitely do more reviews like this. Outdoors and using them. Much better than the table tops. 2023 the garberg is only $20 more. I still chose the mora, but the condor looks interesting.
I got the Condor. I like it.
I was going to buy a mora companion to get into bush craft, would it be better if I dished out a bit more for one of these?
Even if you upgrade later, you'll never be sorry you have an extra Mora Companion in your life. I say start there :) -DCA
I have the garberg and several terävaas, very nice knives. I think i need a condor too.... wery nice review sir👍
For me its hard to beat the handle on Moras, they seem to fit my hands just right...great review btw.
A pure gentleman, a pure gentle outdoorsman in our age of trailer shamelessness.
I perfer the Mora, but i have many knives and bith of tgese are great. Its honestly up to you what you like better .
Good comparison of both knives. I recently bought both and returned the Garberg. Both are great knives, but price and over all design played a factor for me. I really like the condor. My all time favorite knife though is still the Mora high q robust (gray handle) the best knife for the money ever.
Yeah I got that grey handled Mora Robust and I find myself using it in my garage for almost everything. And I have a lot of knives in my garage!
"... comin at ya from the woods behind the knife center" hahaha I would love to have a beer with this guy.
Great video, nice review. I am not searching for something extra and shiny, quality and price is what i am interested in. Condor Terrasaur looks like a great present for myself or family members :)
I think I trust a knife made in Sweden ( European craftsmen) over a knife made in El Salvador.
Excellent Review and Comparison! Thank you.
Bonjour So which one is the best ?
I had a Garberg before this video. Based on your demonstration I'd have no problem with a Terrasaur. So... yes.
How much heavier is the garberg?
Garberg = 9.6 oz
Terrasaur = 7.1 oz
@@knifecenter yeah but the mora bushcraft black weighs like 2 ounces less than what they say it is. So I was wondering if anyone has actually weighed then
You should compare the terrasaur to the bushcraft black, much closer in price.
I wish someone would I can't make up my mind on which one I want
I love the Garberg but have not tested the condor yet. The Condor is not much cheaper here in Sweden and you can get the Garberg for about the same price as the Condor, still I would like to get my hands on it.
Are either one available in different blade lengths?
No, you can get something similar from mora but it's not the same knife
Joe Flowers did Tops Brakimo few years back which is essentially a bigger version of the Terrasaur. It's at least twice the money, but it's nice.
The Condor gets my vote by a LONG shot, for styling alone. And I have used Mora's for years.
Both are nice. I would pick the mora.
I like me a micro bevel on a scandi when it flat ground and not convex. Because that mages the edge more durable when the scandi is not convex.
This was a really great video.
I really like this channel it’s
Actually great to watch.
Awesome review, thank you very much..
Hey its nice to see u n d woods, definitely u know how to handle a knife more than a hundreds guys at ur professions.
Great demo, DCA! I'd go with the Mora. Stick with the original.
I went with the Mora.
I recently bought the Condor Terrasaur , paid roughly 45 dollars taxes included, you can buy 2 of them for the price of the Garberg.
and you can buy 2 Heavy Duty Mora Companions for the price of Condor Terrasaur. I got my Stainless Garberg for $65. So no, I wouldn't be able to buy two Terrasaurs for that price.
That's a tough choice, I think I would go with the Mora on the belt, and the condor in the pack for cooking/backup.
Is that shape on the middle side of the handle just a design detail?
Condor logo
Mora Garberg all day long! Thanks DCA!
This guy needs his own Channel...
What a review. Well done sir!
