Joe Klecko Ultimate NFL Career Highlights

- The son of a truck driver and hailing from the Rust Belt, Joe Klecko played with a hardened, blue-collar ethos. He was willing to play wherever he was needed, and always excelled, notching Pro Bowl selections at all of the major defensive line positions over his 11 year career with the New York Jets. He spearheaded the feared New York Sack Exchange, leading the Jets to four playoff appearances in the early 1980s. Klecko is truly one of the forgotten greats of the league, and next to Reggie White may have been the most versatile defensive lineman to ever play the game.

The man should be in the Hall of Fame, and that's coming from a Giants fan.
I’m with ya !
I, too, am a Giants fan and believe that Klecko should be in the Hall. If Dan Hampton is enshrined, so should Klecko. Both players have basically the same statistics with Klecko actually earning one more First-Team All-Pro.
Klecko was a complete lineman () who could rush the passer and stuff the run. Hall-of-Fame center Dwight Stephenson, who with the Dolphins faced Klecko twice a year, described him as a “great defensive lineman,” and when asked who was the toughest lineman he (ever) went up against, he named Klecko one of two.
I remember a giant center ( forget his name , was during the Simms days ) once saying klecko was the strongest man he ever faced
He’s in!!!
For my money, this Joe is the greatest Jet of all time.
When I lived in Levittown, Long Island when I was a young boy, Joe Klecko was the greatest Jets defensive lineman ever, finally Joe is going to the Pro Football Hall of Fame!!
Long time NYG fan here and without a doubt Klecko was the best D-LINEMAN I ever saw!!
And Lyle Alzado! Dominated
Unbelievable that he is not in the HOF.
He made it to HOF now
CONGRATS KLECKO INDUCTED TO THE HOF TONIGHT J E T S JETS JETS JETS
Put this guy in Hall of Frame !!!
Incredible jump off the line of scrimmage @ 2:18. He split that double team block before the O-Lineman even knew what happened.
Great reel. a Real Great. 👏👏🏈pro bowl now
Welcome to Canton Mr. Klecko.
Long overdue. Respect to the jetfighter logo too.
Congrats to this beast for finally making it to HOF!!
#73 for HOF !
This dud was said to be extremely strong by John Hannah and if you look at pictures or highlights of John Hannah then you know that John Hannah was an absolute tank that ran people in the ground.
Both Anthony Munoz, and John Hannah, have endorsed Klecko for the HOF. Those two are in the Top 3-4 offensive lineman to ever play the game.
Dud? Hanna, along with Anthony Munoz and Howie Long have endorsed him for the HOF.
Here's what Hannah has to say....

If John Hannah gives him a nod...guy must have been a beast
I'm suprised that he didn't play for Penn State when he was in college since it was in his region. Just think him and Jack Hamm and Matt Mcmillen would have been a great defensive squad.
He’s strong
Yes. He was a problem along with Scott Misereau. I hope I the spelling right
How Joe Klecko is not in the HOF is a travesty.
It's about time !!
#73 was a force of nature on the field.
They should make exit 73 on the GST parkway his exit
New Jersey Jets...
Um, maybe we want to double team 73 before we get fired?
Joe Klecko and Jack Lambert these were the days the NFL was great not now in the Non Football League the players today only care about money and politics and the rules make a hit more of a penalty than a part of the game the Steelers Browns brawl the other day to bad should have not fined anyone the bashing of another players skull with a helmet though is attempted murder though if you catch my drift
This was real football
I still say the majority of the concussions and resulting CTE were more the result of that fucking astroturf (i.e. carpet over concrete) that any hits they took, at least until the '90s.
