I just wanted to thank Adrian for taking the time to film and explain all that he did. The people that have these skills are getting harder and harder to find these days and there's going to be a time where you won't find them. So for him to film this really is great and will probably save someone's ass in the future. Also great job on the editing too Stu,it's a winner all around.

Adrian, basically a born teacher. Excellent explanations of what he is doing, why, in what order, things to consider, and how to tell if it's not done correctly.

I drank my coffee and watched a gentleman who knows his stuff!!! There is no substitute for training and experience and this man has both. Stu I think he could have fixed those pieces in his sleep. Nice work Adrian!!!!

Wow Stu, how fortunate for you to have a Detroit expert on hand. The way he was talking, you would think he was one of the engine designers!

I don’t know if I will ever need to rebuild a Detroit blower but it’s nice to know that someone has taken the time to show us how. Merry Christmas and please thank Adrian for taking the time to video the rebuild.

The one thing that I find amazing after watching the last 3 videos is how well this engine runs without any electronics involved. I mean it's all mechanical, no sensors or micro computer orchestrating any aspect of its operation. I'm sure the modern versions that employ more computing power than NASA may have better power, fuel efficiency and lower emissions, but nothing new has the soul that you can hear in this machine.

Oh yeah?! Not only did ya do a bang up job on the bearing set. Ya also did an exceptional job on the video. Seemed to me like the running commentary of what you are thinking as you go through the rebuild process. Bang on job mate!!! The best engineers that I know including myself say they aspire to being considered to be a real mechanic. I am honored to have been granted to see you work. Please pass this comment on to Adrian Dangar.

Being a mechanic myself I love to watch a talented mechanic do his work. He seems like he would be a great teacher as he explains why he does/does not do things.

I just cringe at the thought of using the blower the way it was before Adrian set eyes on it. Making videos isn't his thing, but we got there and the proof we have already seen, A good Detroit mechanic is getting harder to find as they are a dying breed. This video really is testament to attention to detail. He really is worth twice what he charges.

Three cheers to Adrian for filming. Also, it shows how much extra effort is required to film well while attempting to get work done. So three cheers to you, too Stu.

Wow even over here in the states we don't get an explanation like that, boy oh boy he is good . It is getting harder and harder to find a good Detroit Diesel mechanic , Or better yet a master. Thanks for getting him to show off his talents.

Adrian is a legend, and I like the way he explains things. I hadn't thought about anti-seize inside an engine. Every bolt, screw or nut that comes off my bikes gets a generous coating of copper slip before going back on, except near the brakes. Adrian reckons anti-seize does more harm than good inside the engine oil is enough. Fair enough. We live and learn.
