@@NewWesternFront I think he just feels guilty about trying to kill Tony early in the show, because he does actually love Tony but Junior is always trying to not look weak or vulnerable
In the end, Uncle Jun's the only one who really got away with it all. Dominic Chianese was so excellent as Uncle Junior!! When Uncle June started fading slowly into dementia Dominic's acting was incredibly believable... and difficult to watch if you've had a relative go through that
I had an uncle just like Dominic's character Uncle Jun except his transformation happened after his wife died in her early 50's. He had unbelievable wealth and could have been comfortable living out his life anywhere he wanted but he stayed in his house of 50 years, his neighborhood of 75 years, and smaller and smaller circle of friends until his death. He'd act like he was miserable, act like he didn't have family that loved him, act like his friends abandoned him, and that's what made him happy. To his credit he left 1/2 his fortune to charities and the other half to family, friends, and even children of his closest friends. He was a hard man to be close to because he'd always act like he thought you were calling, visiting, and including him just to get a piece of his money but I surmise he in fact cherished those times although he never showed it. He was an odd odd bird. I think I was his favorite relative after my Mom because I bought a couple of his properties after he sold them to others because although I never told him I was going to buy them he had made comments that he should have never sold them and it pleased him I realized the value of them from his lamenting but who knows. He left equal shares to me, my siblings, and cousins.

In 1960 give or take a year. My Dad drove me up to this big pile of dirt. He said “this is where the Dodgers are going to play” I was already familiar with the Dodgers considering the old man was always telling me plug in the radio, the Dodgers are on in a minute. Now I was born in July of 53. The Dodgers moved here to L.A. in 58. They were playing at the Coliseum till our new stadium opened in 62. Back to plugging in the big stand up radio. One time he told me to plug in the radio. I guess I wasn’t paying attention cause my Little fingers grabbed the prongs while plugging it in. I got the shit shocked out of me. My teeth were chattering, my hair was standing out like life long tweaker, and then I went sliding across the floor on my back. My Dad was laughing so hard I didn’t know whether to cry or laugh like the old man. This whole story came from T saying his Uncle use to take him to the Yankee games.
Lovely memory. I'm guessing Dad isn't around anymore. My dad was born in 44 and passed this year. RIP to legends. My dad actually pretended to be dead in the front seat of the car, my mom was SO MAD when she found out cuz I was like 12🤣🤣🤣

Word to the wise. The kids you help raise, look after, suddenly are no longer innocent kids. They're adults , and then you're the one on the back foot. They have the power over you. So treat them fairly and set a good example. You reap what you sow.
...DAMN!... I COMPLETELY FORGOT how his shrink - Melfi - was (unwittingly!) - giving him ADVICE about how to run a CRIME FAMILY! He lured her into it - she thought she was giving him advice about achieving a more stable and happy life - HE was instead using her to GET RID OF HIS PROBLEMS - be a more effective boss...
31:42 and 36:52 are two of many great convos Tony had with Junior. The first time I heard the term Ghibeline, I looked it up. They were aristocrats in Italy who supported the Holy Roman Emperor (Germans) over the Pope. This shows that Junior is a student of history and uses the exact term to describe Gigi. The Lou Dimaggio story is also a great one from Junior.

Their relationship was so touching. Ups and downs but the love was always there. U can tell Uncle Jun spend more time with kid Tony than Johnny did that’s why Tony had those memories and smiled when he thought of it.

Italian from NYC here. Salute 🍷 🇮🇹
Crazy how Dominic is still alive and how many who are dead and gone from the show. Both Tony and Carmella...
shit most of them are dead, half the damn cast is dead now. what a damn shame.
Edie Falco is still alive. So many others tho. 😢
Carmella actress is not dead. But James Gandolfini, Tony Surico, ginny sacs actress have passed
Coer en grata
"I always remember my mother talking about my dads feeble minded brother but I always thought he meant you" Tony to Junior.
Those little early season nuggets.
Them easter eggs for later...
They're the things.
(took me forever to connect Tony's inner monologie here with the reality that happened at Sunday dinner several yrs. later) 😅
Does the Caesar thing connect up? If anything that’s tony fantasizing about using his position to benefit the most people which seems overall altruistic
that last scene makes me cry every time...
me too ❤️
"I'm his favourite nephew" ...he's his *only* nephew lol
Not true , Junior told Tony they had like a retarted nephew or something like that and then you have Chrissy , Bobby , and also a few others . So your wrong , watch the show becayse you obviously aren’t a true fan and I am fram Germany and even I know thees
My dad actually pretended to be dead in the front seat of the car, my mom was SO MAD when she found out cuz I was like 12🤣🤣🤣
That Mother of His was pure Cancer, Tony didn't stand a chance. Miracle he was how he was could have been a lot worse.
you're not wrong at all. she definitely made him that way, and the father wasn't ever around
Agreed. He easily could had been a Roy demeo or the ice man type of psychopath cause of her. I think Junior and Chrissy father influence probably gave him enough love and sanity to be a functional human.
He ended up killing a lot of people though
@@gripeotheday That was part and parcel of his business. He didn't do it for pleasure.
Agreed but most people willing to kill for a living arent good people even if they can be charming or friendly at times.@@theculturedthug6609
Word to the wise. The kids you help raise, look after, suddenly are no longer innocent kids. They're adults , and then you're the one on the back foot. They have the power over you.
So treat them fairly and set a good example. You reap what you sow.
Aside from all the Mafia contex
@@Rome274uncle jun is in the muff 😂
Amen.
...DAMN!... I COMPLETELY FORGOT how his shrink - Melfi - was (unwittingly!) - giving him ADVICE about how to run a CRIME FAMILY! He lured her into it - she thought she was giving him advice about achieving a more stable and happy life - HE was instead using her to GET RID OF HIS PROBLEMS - be a more effective boss...
i loved Tonys face thinking about it, then immediately goes to Junior to tell him he should be boss. Beautiful writing
@@ceerious Damn right!
27:47 has to be one of the best exchanges in the show. "If that's all you want it's a phone call away" LOL
lmao 😂
These compilations get better and better
they'll be gettin more better my brother.
thank you for this
❤️
I think Junior had the most peaceful ending. didn’t die, didn’t end up in prison. was taken care of until the end. a truly anomaly.
Maybe Patsy? Idk...
Arguably juniors was the most tragic because at the end there was none of him left
@@sameeramahalekame7992Hesh too
Very allegorical.
@@mylesmay48 The sacred and the propane
thanks for doing these...
no problem. thank you as well
Thank you for taking the time to put this together. Outstanding effort and continuity.
appreciate the kind words.
As a huge admirer of this show this is great… but even greater is all the scene with these 2.
Gotta love OG Junior's one liner's😂😂😂
"Sharp as a cue ball" is a true bar
What do you want a boutonniere
2nd question & this poor prick used all his life-lines
DID SHE JUST SAY SHE GOT KNOCKED UP???
That first season is crazy underrated
“You yap worse than six barbers!!!!”
"Mr. Magoo with his moldy old sweaters, and he's a boss."
26:48 "You better be finished!" I always thought that was hilarious. Jun raking Tony...trivializing his work.
Junior as boss? It's undignified.
ayyy you compromised
@@ceerious Junior eats alone and doesn't even pass the salt! It's a FVCKIN' DISGRACE!
The feds were so far up his ass he could taste brylcream
Ikr w/his radio debut@green grove 🤷♂️
You know what Phil, I'll give you undignified
Borko was a Caesar..and everybody loved him..
Why didn’t you just say that? Instead of all this cineranter and pure kino shit??
10:37 mikey knew exactly what he's talking about :d
31:42 and 36:52 are two of many great convos Tony had with Junior. The first time I heard the term Ghibeline, I looked it up. They were aristocrats in Italy who supported the Holy Roman Emperor (Germans) over the Pope. This shows that Junior is a student of history and uses the exact term to describe Gigi. The Lou Dimaggio story is also a great one from Junior.
lmao yea gigi the ghibeline to the aprile crew
Ceerious , i show you my hand & you slap it away. On another note , nice video , almost like a short film. You have alot of potential , just dont let certain people sway you.
i appreciate your thoughts. ❤️
The scenes with Jim and Dominic were gold.
Ahh...Uncle Jun. He invented muff shavin'- It was the summer of 69
YOU GOT A BEE ON YOU HAT🗣️🗣️🗣️💯💯
Best Soprano Compilation Channel, We need a Levia / Janice Compilations too
Oh dont worry there will be 😊 protect me at all costs! lol
@@ceerious Thanks mate , if you can tell us how that will be great :D
@@davidjohn6323 make sure no one tries n wacks my channel lol
Holy Toledo Dr. Melfi is the real boss here!
yup
Some of the best acting in television history. All class & smooth. There isn’t anything like it.
46:49 what other gangster show takes the time to complaint about a gangster installing the wrong wattage bulb? this is why the sopranos feels so real
Carmine Jr. wasnt the idiot everyone thought he was. Three houses in 2 different states and he was still alive at the end. In love with his wife and caring for his children.
I agree to this comment
Their relationship was so touching. Ups and downs but the love was always there. U can tell Uncle Jun spend more time with kid Tony than Johnny did that’s why Tony had those memories and smiled when he thought of it.
45:37 "The one who stole all the pork loins" 😅
That is not a world I could life in. Greedy, untrustworthiness and lying is like breathing everyday. The most deadly person to Tony was his mother.
100%
It is such a tragedy they never could get along. They loved each other so much and it was obvious.
4:25 the happiest he's ever been in his life, for sure
4:28 , you can see Junior's lip curl like he wants to smile but then right away tries putting on a poker face in front of Tony. His eyes also dart up and down over Tony, measuring him up. Crazy impressive how even in a small conversation like this the characters are still playing mental chess with eachother and how the actors can show it.
I think Tony is a good, yet subtle example, of revering your elders a bit too much...
Well he is a boomer. My parents were the same way. I think it’s common with that generation, revering the generation that came before them and feeling like they never measured up
@@SangreFriasBack makes sense
Look at em over there with my ma…those people went through WWII
Meanwhile today's generation has no respect at all for their elders
@@el34glo59Not surprising because people have used the elder excuse to get away with a lot of abuse. They're tired and I understand
I got a guy who owes me, he's got a goomar that works at FBI headquarters as a word processor.
It’s not just my source, half of New York moved to Fort Lauderdale already
Lol Tony at the 5 min mark won that trade he still called the shots and he got bloomfied & the paving union which im sure gave him extra $$
HBO: "Hear about the Chinese GoT finale? Somehow it was even worse."
[LAUGHING]
**Borko enters restaurant and walks over to HBO crew sitting in a booth**
Borko: "You gonna stop this before it gets outta hand?"
HBO: "Not even an email?"
Borko: "I'm here because I love this show and respect you for putting it on television."
HBO: "Don't pretend you're paying me respect. A Serbian who uploads clips of "The Sopranos." You don't even care about copyright infringement up there."
Borko: "That's none of your business."
HBO: "Your channel - it interferes in my business. You expect me to turn the cheek."
Borko: "The clips are good for you. Free publicity."
HBO: "I'm sitting here like fucking GoT fans watching the final season waiting for a good episode to be handed down. You were warned, Borko, and still you embarrass me."
Borko: "I run my channel my way. What you did was extreme."
HBO: "Now you're a copyright judge? I answer to bigger people than you my friend."
Borko: "Oh? Like AT&T execs? Wanna take this to their boardroom?"
HBO: "This channel of yours we gave a copyright strike...it earns good?"
Borko: "Views are coming up."
HBO: "Okay - you work for me now."
Borko: "Excuse me?"
HBO: "Maybe you upload for me for a change."
Borko: "You got some set of balls, you know that? Absolutely not."
HBO: "I show you my hand, and you slap it away."
Borko: "What's the matter with you? Why can't we talk like two regular RUclipsrs anymore, huh?"
HBO: "Out. Next time you upload, use an alt account or none at all."
Borko: "You don't mean that."
Oh yeah, I remember that picture of Albert Anastasia laying there all amicable on the barber shop floor
