The difficulty of sliding depends of the sliding blocks.
It has 2 factors to it
1 lubed with a way too thick lube
    2 debris from factory.
For the first case is easy to deal with. Clean them with wd40 or break cleaner and relube them with a proper lube (not grease).
For the second case is a little bit more work but is worth it in any case. Basically you need to totally disassemble the blocks one by one and clean them then reassemble and relube. It can take a lot of time but it makes a lot of difference.
And i recommend to use a oil distribution lubrication system. In the long run the blocks and rails will have a lot less wear. Or you can lube them by hand one by one with a syringe, kinda in the stile of grease gun method.
If you want to exchange some words about these kind of things don't hesitate.

Looks like you are going to beat me to the punch with upgrading the rails. Can't wait to see how you do it... I keep thinking about how to do mine and if I use the same rails that's on the lower section of the machine, I will have to add a spacer the the back plate or completely rebuild the Z section of the gantry. I've bookmarked your part links, thanks

If we are talking about cheap rails - yes, it is a lottery!

I saw your videos on linear rails. The looked very Nice! Expensive?
Also I saw that you took a sliding block apart. Do you have any recomendations on grease or oil for The blocks?

@@thechipwelder1253 No, SAIR products are very cheap and pretty good quality, you can order them directly from factory, just use contacts in the description section. As about service or revision of rails, yes, there are some tips, will try to make a video about it cuz lots of people are interested in it

It is not the scrateches, i ordered 20mm rails, and cleaned them and blocks too (by taking them all apart) and re greased and works reasonable well. Buy rails and blocks from same place.

The rails and blocks that I ordered are not hiwin. However I think that they are pretty similair. Acoording to hiwins data sheet, their blocks are pre greased/lubed from factory. However their blocks shall be greased before being taken into use. For HG15 theamount of grease is 3x0,3cm3, and for HG25 3X0,8cm3. With a cheap grease gun it feels hard to control the amount of grease. I did though see a video from another seller who recomended a couple of pumps and that they wouldnt be damage by over greasing. Might be good enough for my hobby use. But I thought some about it, and came up with an idea. Do you think that it would be possible to apply the grease through a plastic syringe with a scale. Perhaps conect it with the nozzle with a short piece of pvc hoose. I dont know, but would be intresting to know what you think about that or if you have tried it? :)

What I do not get is why the ballscrew is so small considering the rail is so long?

the scratches you showed us have nothing to do with the smoothness of sliding. The scratches are on the top face, NOT the bearing surface, which are the 4 curved surfaces to the sides
