Monsters U is more of my comfort film than Monsters Inc because of how healing the ending message of the movie: there's no one way to reach your dreams, you can always start somewhere and somewhen. I especially needed to hear that.
Anyone else notice that when Mike and Sulley are in that cabin they mess with a bunch of human things? Like a doll for example. So wouldn’t they realize human things aren’t actually toxic?
Near the end when they’re at that Girl Scout camp and they’re being hunted by rangers/counselors. They’re in a cabin and use a record player and a doll among other things to distract them. Just look up the scene.
Doesn’t Lightyear technically fall into that category? It’s the movie that Andy saw prior to the events of Toy Story, leading him to obtain the Buzz Lightyear toy
Another Easter egg in Monsters University is in the mail room, when Mr. Snow walks in, he tell Mike and Sulley that if they every read/open the mail, they will be banished to the snow lands. The funny part is that in the first movie, we find him in the snow lands.

Imagine it's a time travel 😳 and the Mosters at work say that the yeti guy got fired and explained t9 the cold door case the screaming machine found out.
There's also A Commercial before Toy Story 2 on the VHS where Mike and sully go into the wrong kids room and sully says something about when they were in 5th grade together
Also you can see mike and sulley in a car form in the Pixar short Tokyo mator if you look closely in the sushi place where mator drifted you will see mike and sulley
