Where are the refueling stations at? How much to refuel? Is it going to require specialized repair shops to make repairs? What about parts, how easy or available?
First off, hydrogen needs special and expensive equipment to condense into liquid hydrogen. Then it needs special equipment to transport too. Same goes for storage. Not every country have that financial capability to purchase such equipments. Moreover, it requires lots of energy to break down, condense, store and transport. Unless you're doing it on a very large scale(millions of tonnes), then it could help bring down the cost significantly.
When will Toyota sell HICEV on a commercial scale? I am so interested to buy one. I remember a Filipino inventor proposed to develop this innovation but nobody supported his invention. Now, Toyota is pioneering to develop and produce HICEV.
Good video. There are several methods to produce hydrogen gas. It makes sense to use the method in locations where the source substance is plentiful. Companies like Air Products and Chemicals are already building out the infrastructure to produce massive amounts of hydrogen gas. Toyota has been testing fuel cell technology in cars for over 14 years.
Would it not be possible to allow water vapour to store while driving to continue the electrolysis process and create an ongoing cycle? I know there's a little more thinking into my thoughts. For my family, it's about affordability. Good on ya Toyota😊
Toyota us slated to lose market share to Chinese Evs and Tesla, oh can you tell me where you can buy Hydrogen and for how much if it is not given away by Toyota with their sale of a Mira?
This is a bold statement by Toyota. But a combustion engine using hydrogen may make sense. The principle is EV stores energy in a battery. Hydrogen cars in tanks. Tanks cost several times lower than a battery. The reactivity of hydrogen is better.
Hyundai Nexo is the world first mass produced hydrogen cars!!! and Hydrogen cars won't be the main stream cars they are as hard as petrol cars in terms of fixing and repairing it.. Car should be simple to fix and to maintain like electric cars.
It was first invented by Filipino mechanical engineer name Engr. Tagle, was introduce to US ronald Teagan but ignore it due to many american billionaire oil magnate, like Hetty, Chevrone, Mobile, that supported Reagan... Later Engr. Tagle sold it to Toyota Japan and later developed it now... that's the honest story... Infact there another new Filipino inventor now developing new machinery, for cars, motor vehicle, generator, without fuel, battery, electric could generate enegy. On show-off testing now looking for support financialy for mass production, local govt does not support due to corruption...
H is the fuel of the future. That is the prediction 5 decades ago. The process how to separate hydrogen and oxygen in water has been known throughout so many years. Let us just wait for further development.
JAPANESE BRAND still the prefer long lasting brand and engine vehicles in the Philippines. TOYOTA..MITSUBISHI..SUZUKI..SUBARU...DAIHATSU..but I still welcome new brand from China haha to add our scapyard in the Philippines..
Using hydrogen as an energy to power engine is not new. The challenge is to make it cheap enough to commercialize for car industry. Toyota has long way to go and will face many competitors in the future.
If the engine components are not corrosive then this Hydrogen power is OK. But if in a few WEEKS the ENGINES corrode then Toyota has a big problem except if the engines are lined w/ ANTI-CORROSION sometbing?
I’ve always loved Toyotas..these cars last forever..there like the Hondas..great cars ..as long as you keep up the maintenance..the one in high school..300000 miles plus and changed the oil once..lol but it did last forever..I even sold it..and this is the future..everyone is going to want one ..12 billion customers
Very cool. How did the Japanese manage to lose WW2. I guess they were more interested in progressing through military conquest than industrial innovation.
Yeah, good luck with that. Hydrogen won't be mature. At least 2 more decades,by then, a new and more powerful battery would be more mature and will be able to compete with hydrogen.Anyway .
How dangerous is the very flammable hydrogen cylinder. Its only starting not proving technically new.Let it's tested report in more years to come.Just like full EV after years on the road more problem to recycle of batteries n difficulty on of importing batteries material.????😂

Yeah we've seen something very similar to it in the 1970s the guy was murdered because the big oil companies

Sonds like a Fantastic engine !! Let’s hope it becomes a reality!❤️❤️❤️🙏👍

50 years ago i was driving my BmW runnuning on lpg gas. Lpg canbe replaced by hydrogen gas.
Toyota us slated to lose market share to Chinese Evs and Tesla, oh can you tell me where you can buy Hydrogen and for how much if it is not given away by Toyota with their sale of a Mira?
IRS not easily stored and transported
This is a bold statement by Toyota.

What's happening in the LPG vehicle market. All the stations selling LPG are always deserted?
Would they be easy to convert to LPG?

Here in Australia, we would not have more than 2 or 3 dozen fuelling stations.
Gotta love the gigantic size of rhe engine in the thumbnail in relation to the man.
But ICE is only 20% to 30% efficient vs Electric motor 70% to 80% efficient..

I hope they're using salt water to filtrate saltwater into freshwater otherwise you're going to run out of fresh water
I hope it's not too expensive. I would love to have one of those cars.
H is the fuel of the future. That is the prediction 5 decades ago. The process how to separate hydrogen and oxygen in water has been known throughout so many years. Let us just wait for further development.
that is turbo hydrogen with oil combustion
PRACTICAL APPLICATION IS IMPORTANT!! TATA HAD DEVELOPED A TRUCK WITH HYDROGEN.POWER !!
How much does it cost to fill the tank?
Repeat Warning; Toyota must concentrate on the SAFETY FEATURES because of the Highly Combustble Hydrogen / Oxygen components.
Welcome Toyota game changer. Newly innovated solution using Hydrogen combustion engine for cars, etc
JAPANESE BRAND still the prefer long lasting brand and engine vehicles in the Philippines. TOYOTA..MITSUBISHI..SUZUKI..SUBARU...DAIHATSU..but I still welcome new brand from China haha to add our scapyard in the Philippines..
Can't beat electric low maintenance
Hydrogen powered cars are HIGHLY COMBUSTIBLE that may prove very Dangerous.
Using hydrogen as an energy to power engine is not new. The challenge is to make it cheap enough to commercialize for car industry. Toyota has long way to go and will face many competitors in the future.
All our local busses run on hydrogen already.
I'm told Yamaha has an engine running on water!?
If the engine components are not corrosive then this Hydrogen power is OK. But if in a few WEEKS the ENGINES corrode then Toyota has a big problem except if the engines are lined w/ ANTI-CORROSION sometbing?
All car companies could've been took this route.
Every engine can run on hydogen instead of gasoline
I WOULDRATHER PICK an Ev car than a hydrogen powered car!
If Filipino invention is only given opportunity to develop no engine car run by electro plasma which is present in space.
JCB are converting to H2 for the bigger machines.
IT WAS A PILIPINO INVENTOR WHO USE WATER IN AUTOMOBILE ENGINE IT WAS THEN ADOPTED BY TOYOTA,,
One of the invention of the pilipino engnr.
When they make hydrogen they make carbon and it goes in the air
Crazy
I thought they partner HONDA to come up with this Hydrogen Car
Yamaha

300 K. is Not a long time or even Close to Forever!
Id be travelling all my life!
mm more oil maintenance...
Very cool. How did the Japanese manage to lose WW2. I guess they were more interested in progressing through military conquest than industrial innovation.
Make an engine that runs in just plain water.
This is why the former CEO was sacked and Toyota’s released an EV recently.
China is Top ❤
Sure it does
Elon is kinda nvm .. good job Toyota 🎉
PILIPINO INVENTION WATER FUEL NOW ON JAPAN.
Yeah, good luck with that. Hydrogen won't be mature. At least 2 more decades,by then, a new and more powerful battery would be more mature and will be able to compete with hydrogen.Anyway .
Toyota is slowly becoming BlockBuster.
awesome!

Would not buy a Tesla or any kind of electric car even if you gave it to me for free
What about rust, water through the exhaust system.
