On the topic of Kyoshi makeup, Suki wasn't wearing the makeup while working with the refugee smugglers in Full Moon Bay(but put it back on when helping the Gaang through Serpent's Pass) nor when the Gaang was undercover in the Fire Nation. A Kyoshi Warrior's makeup seems to be meant to be worn when acting on behalf of the group but also doesn't get in the way of trying to stay covert if that is necessary. The makeup seems more like a unifying uniform than a sacred vow, canonically Baya would probably not have much of a problem with removing it to stay undercover for a bit even if she might not feel great about it.

It's good that the Era is decided upon by the group. I don't know much about Avatar since I only watched the last air bender back when I was a kid. But I know there is no other Air Benders during the Ange Era. So if someone wants to play an Air bender it's good that they can at least vote
Honestly as a GM, I would allow someone to play an airbender in that era if they had a good story background for it. Like their grandpa was a airbender that went into hiding when Aang went missing. Married a non-bender and hid their identity from everyone including their family. Or anything like that.
@@ZquaredGaming I love this idea. I was just saying to my wife, why not play a "if there's one, are there more?"idea for a game hook. But I like the idea of a refugee in hiding

I just ran my own test session of this system and it didn't really hit it off with my group. We did do it with roll20, and one thing I wish we had was a special character sheet sort of thing that we see around 25 minutes in. Is there something I can do or get to help out with that if we approach it again? Edit: I see now that he just photoshopped elements of the character sheets to make a map on their VTT.
They don't have it out yet but they said they're looking into it for VTT. They'll probably have more info once everything is shipped out and wrapped up with the Kickstarter.
Do they ever figure out that they need to Help each other to pass rolls more? Do they realize that they can basically mark fatigue freely as long as they take pauses to Guide and Comfort each other?
I am much more interested in checking out the lore and feats and skills for this game because the system is a reskin of Witchcraft And Wizardry from TableStory. I'm not mad and it makes sense because both are made for a younger audience which is why the DM plays a more guiding part in the story. This system isn't for me but I hope the books give some good ideas for more homebrewing.
The make up thing is if they are planning to go to battle or making war. In this case fighting "should" be over and they are running so should be fine to take it off. Then again until the fire nation is driven back they are kind of always on duty
I'm loving this so far. Can't wait to see the next episode. Kind of hope that you do at least one mini adventure in each of the eras. In a way I loved both of the animated series some things I didn't agree with my note was aimed at children or young teens so I can't complain too much. I really wish you would have done an animated series of what happens in between the first and second series I know that there are comic books but I can't see one off to read them but that's all beside the point. I think this is a really neat game and it's nice to see a great animated series get turned into a table top :-)
This is good! I'd like to see HR branch out into other systems for some games as well. Maybe they do more than I am aware, though. But there are some good systems out there that I'd love to see: Starfinder, New World of Darkness, Into the Dark, Call of Cthulhu, Kobolds Ate My Baby, Paranoia.
Way we saw it was a bit like Order 66 in Star Wars. Plenty of chances for a handful of individuals to have escaped destruction, just never explored in the original show!
@@SherlockHulmesDM I just started, and yeah, that caught me a bit off-guard. Let´s see how the story goes, and if the entire fire-nation will be after them. (You know, just go full edgelord with it.) Might as well throw in looking for my HONOR! Hmm... maybe I should consider getting this game...

Back seat DM here. Just a suggestion for failing forward. When a distraction fails you could have the gaurds see the distraction. But they are very suspicious and even make a note of how supcious you were that night. Remembering her face if she ever finds herself around the wrong guard. Or she starts a fight inadvertently. And the outcome is hand waved. Let the player make up an avatar fight scene.

We did do it with roll20, and one thing I wish we had was a special character sheet sort of thing that we see around 25 minutes in. Is there something I can do or get to help out with that if we approach it again?
Edit: I see now that he just photoshopped elements of the character sheets to make a map on their VTT.
Not even photoshop. Snipping tool and the PDFs, wack it on the map layer of roll20 so people can draw on it. :)
They don't have it out yet but they said they're looking into it for VTT. They'll probably have more info once everything is shipped out and wrapped up with the Kickstarter.
Meili is easily one of my FAVORITE Avatar characters now!
As someone who plays a lot of Powered by the Apocalypse games like Masks and Monsterhearts this was pretty easy to follow.
The Flopping Fish Festival is now canon
Do they ever figure out that they need to Help each other to pass rolls more? Do they realize that they can basically mark fatigue freely as long as they take pauses to Guide and Comfort each other?
me want a whole series!
Cow-eagle it's canon now! 😂 I better see one in this new show or I'm rioting! 😜
This is definitely the best 115 dollars I've spent
I had been meaning to watch this and then I realized: “Hey, that looks like.. oh, Kim is on here?! Awesome!”.
Oh this going to be fun. I'm sure of it
I am much more interested in checking out the lore and feats and skills for this game because the system is a reskin of Witchcraft And Wizardry from TableStory. I'm not mad and it makes sense because both are made for a younger audience which is why the DM plays a more guiding part in the story. This system isn't for me but I hope the books give some good ideas for more homebrewing.
It uses the Powered by the Apocolypse System which is an open source system of TTRPG mechanics used by many different games.
The make up thing is if they are planning to go to battle or making war. In this case fighting "should" be over and they are running so should be fine to take it off. Then again until the fire nation is driven back they are kind of always on duty
I'm thinking about running a game of this and I'm definitely stealing the fish flopping festival when I get the chance.
1:42:15 skip break
Thank you
Just started d&d it is so fun and addicting
Welp, I'm sold
fuck yes, AVATAR! I'm so excited. Absolutely backing this
Thank you for the introduction I have no idea who you are but I'm a big fan of avatar!
Please make this a series
This is so dope but I couldn’t catch it live LETS GOO will there be more of these?
Last one is this Thursday
The cabbage merchant never gets a break Not in the original not in the sequel not even in a Fan made game his life is truly terrible
It's a 2-shot
I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY THIIIIIS!!!
Love this very much, Maybe the next big RP campaign could be Avatar Legends :D
An airbender during the 100 year war?!?!
Way we saw it was a bit like Order 66 in Star Wars. Plenty of chances for a handful of individuals to have escaped destruction, just never explored in the original show!
@@SherlockHulmesDM I love it! So many people already had theories that some had escaped so it's fun to explore the idea of one of those individuals!
@@SherlockHulmesDM I just started, and yeah, that caught me a bit off-guard. Let´s see how the story goes, and if the entire fire-nation will be after them.
Note: I don´t have a problem with it, not at all, though as a player I probably would have tried to conceal my bending. Maybe forgo all the monk traditions, in a bit of revenge plot. (You know, just go full edgelord with it.)
Might as well throw in looking for my HONOR!
Hmm... maybe I should consider getting this game...
@@btmikey1925 it's confirmed that some escaped in the comics
@@nerdkernels3398 kind of ruins the whole "the last airbender" thing
the colours not being coordinated to their element is really confusing haha
the waterbender has a red bar, the air bender has a green bar-
I'd like to see the High Rollers play Wanderhome! :)
Had to keep changing volume depending who's talking , audio balance needs adjusting but other than that really enjoying the video
Can't wait for the flipping fish festival t shirt!
When Mark started to describe the Onyx armoured mercenary, the only thing I could think was 'stupid, sexy Starbane(der).'
I hope they release maps and like a plants and animals book, maybe npc stuff a well. Help gms really get into the world
PC: So, I made a confident gymnist martial artist.
DM: Great.
Pc: I'd like to do some gymnastics to distract the guard.
DM: Okay, just roll a six or better....
PC: Six!
DM: Fail! you are now insecure, indefinitely.
PC:😢
Back seat DM here. Just a suggestion for failing forward. When a distraction fails you could have the gaurds see the distraction. But they are very suspicious and even make a note of how supcious you were that night. Remembering her face if she ever finds herself around the wrong guard. Or she starts a fight inadvertently. And the outcome is hand waved. Let the player make up an avatar fight scene.
Oh my gosh! YESSS!
I've wanted to play dnd for years but don't have anyone to play with. I want to buy Avatar Legends anyways for when I do
Hey you have discord? If so we can set up a group to play this game
So, the key thing to learn from this is, if your Focus is crap, tell the gm that you never trained for this.
love your guys normal streams, amped for this though!!
timing... it is indeed the 3rd of august right now haha (in australia)
Presumptuous to say we probably know everyone.... not unfounded just presumptuous
I love the avatar so much
I was smiling through all of this. Love it
Dawa starting out as a master airbender w the tats? Damn
The Flapping Fish Festival... That could SOOOOO be in Avatar:TLA
I love the idea of DnD and would love to play it but my group of friends is not really into that type of thing I've tried to find a way to still do it but I can't and I don't want to result to asking random people on the internet
I got the oneshot thing I would love to play this
We could all lean to be like fish sometimes 😉
Hey, I don't know if you guys have much influence/connection to Magpie Games... but could you convince them to repost the quickstart? They seem to have removed it from all legal download areas. I'd really like to get a look at it.
Did Trott manage to mess up their own URL in the animated background slide? 😆
Thanks, Kati ( Sorry, for mispelling.). I now know a new hairstyle.
Sorry, but are the digital playbooks only available for streamers? or can you access them by any other method?
I can’t wait for this to launch!!!
More of this pls
idk if i like the reailroaded stats and hence characterrolls. and the favt that bending isn't ment to be a focused thing...
