The only song to ever rhyme "laundry" with "quandary".
Superb!
Urgent and detergent. Lol

Brill 😂📝👍
The seventies were so diverse - songs like this could only belong to that era. What a classic!
Clairelouise1975 And also the word Diverse was not thrown around like confetti
at a wedding . Have to give ya credit ya didn`t use the word Clearly
The 70s were just brilliant
As was the High Street
This song never fails to crack me up...'I knew that she'd seen me, cos she dropped her bikini' and the tear jerking 'the one that I brought her in Rome'!
'Her escape was urgent, she forgot her detergent'! ' 'when she saw my reflection in the Chrome'! Every line is a classic!
It's like a soap opera in a song ! Always loved this !
@@christopherjames5895 Yes the Hallelujah's at the end are hysterical! Soap opera, love it!
Still listening to this in 2024
Me too
Oh this is just brilliant. What a terrific song, delivered with Chris's ace deadpan vocals and huge backing sound . And nearly half a century later it still hits the mark.
Such a lavish production for a novelty song. Still sounds great after 43 years.
Produced by the great Mike Batt!
Lyrics to die for,,her escape was so urgent, she forgot her detergent, and dropped all of her clean underwear pure magic xxxx
Absolute classic!!! where else would you hear a line like "She was sharing her spin dry, with a Guy in a tie dye?. not only that but listen to the orchestration. my absolute favourite 70s track
Ken Bruce played it today 19/10/2021 on Radio 2, happy if he played it everyday.
Yes that’s why I was looking for it on here , heard it twice in a month now on radio 2 😁
He plays it quite often .
Just played it now after pop master grand final😊😊
Played it today,23/12/22,after pop master,
They won't be playing it on Radio 2 anymore :(
Absolute belter of a track!
This and "Driver's Seat" by Sniff must be 2 of the best 1 hit wonders of the 70's
Why Did You Do It by Stretch springs to mind too, although they have some awesome songs on their albums. Jigsaw, The Motors... There were quite a few acts in that era that didn't seem to last long
How about Car 67? Another poignant and witty classic.
@@progmeup loved the motors
@@andrewkendall7814 One of the late queen mum's favourites
Played on BBC Radio 2 this morning. I stopped want I was doing. Masterpiece
I cant believe I was 15 when I 1st heard this
And it still sounds amazing :)
I was 11. Please can I go back?
I was 15 too and this appeared on Top of the Pops the evening before my mum died aged 49 on Friday 26th November 1976……
Truly fulfilling lyrics such are those are what is missing from music today. Did we truly know in the 1970's that we were listening to such gems?
Love this song ... never tire of it
A beautifully crafted pop song with incredible lyrics
So tongue in cheek but what a great track....Brilliant production giving this such a BIG sound and such original lyrics ... Will always be on my Favourites list.... Just love it
Just listened to the vinyl single~ what a production! What other comedy song has a symphonic outro which includes the 1812 overture cannons played on drums combined with the Hallelujah chorus.?
Produced by Mike Batt of The Wombles fame.
I listened to this song for the first time in 1977 years and listening to it today brings me back❤️❤️
Cracking tune & brilliant lyrics. I remember it was a hit at Christmastime 1976 & i always think of it as Christmas record! It still sounds as unique today as it did back then.
over the top typical legendary mike batt production but absolutely fab .never tire of this song just magic.
Essex boys. Great mushy lyrics. Brilliant. Key change at end WONDERFUL
I love a slice of cheese, me!!!! This 70's classic never, ever, fails to make me smile and wish I was back there again as a carefree teenager. Great track.
Always loved this. When Mike Batt asked what they wanted included in the production, they drew a kitchen sink, which earned them the opera aira and the shotgun blasts at the end. Fantastic song. I also recall tour poster describing themselves as "A tour de force, forced to tour". They clearly didn't take themselves too seriously, even if they made great music.
One of the catchiest songs ever.
I saw the Kursaal Flyers at the Nottingham Polytechnic in the late 70’s my Dad worked at the college and got us in free! They were Brilliant, it was a good evening. 🙏🙏🙏
“Her escape was so urgent, she forgot her detergent and dropped all her clean underwear!” SUPERB LYRICS.......ONLY in England👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇬🇧
Shame about the creep at the end that i would liked to have dropped an industrial washing machine on!😡🤜🏻🤜🏻🤜🏻🤜🏻DOOF DOOF
That lyric is genius on a par with "I got a job with Stanley, he said I'd come in handy". God there was some good music about in the seventies.
Beautiful beyond words. A true classic record
2024, laughing, and loving it 😂 the 70's, how fecking good was that!!
Compared to modern music, stuff that I thought rubbish back in the day, now sounds pretty damned good, and this track is fun for sure.
Love this, along with January by Pilot. Excellent 70s classics.
What a song!!................What a singer..................................!!...............What a Year.........................................!!...xx
Genius of mike batt! Again. Great song.
Little does she know that I know that she knows that I know...
I still can't get my head around that after 42 years!!
it is a total contradiction. if she knows what he knows about her, she knows everything - thereby making his claim nonsensical!
@@koln74 He knows she's cheating; she knows that he knows (because she saw his reflection: but, she doesn't know that he knows.
Although, to be fair, I don't think he can he sure that she doesn't know that he knows, which might be the point of the song.
It's a hard one to figure out still a good song
@@MrJDJ001 you're my hero!
So cool, what a classic song from my youth! Happy memories! Thanks guys, love you all.
Just terrific an 80s wall of sound.
Jeff B
when music was music, thank you Kursalls
Classic, play it over and over stil 👍
Good record from the 70s, and cool hairstyles.
brilliant song, I found it on interweb after years of trying to remember them and now i found them Im finding out more of their songs and Ilove their music.
Paul Shuttleworth recently had a heart attack, making good progress and back Turing with his currant group
Good luck to him. 😢
@@rw8733 is he ok
@@john111257 Yes. He's OK. Thank goodness. ☺
This warms my heart. Mike Batt does "Wall of Sound". A classic. ☺
Still brings out a smaile at tha age of 70.
Classic, play it over and over stil
Absolutely brilliant.
Never ages - great song
You just know that someone in production yelled "get me that kitchen sink, I'm sure I can squeeze it in here somewhere!" while recording this. Fantastic tune, love it every time I hear it (thanks Ken Bruce...)
just brilliant !
what a voice - unforgettable sound !!
immer wieder faszinieren Super Song
This was the first single I bought. Great song and produced by Mike Batt.
Remember you're a womble!
Her escape was so urgent she forgot her detergent.......... I swear I nearly peed ! Brilliant.
Classic - I knew that she'd seen me / cos she dropped her bikini / the one that I bought her in ROOOME :)
I love this. The singer looks like he is out of the 1950s, the guy in the floral shirt looks like he is from the 60s, the guy in the glasses is from the 80s, the guy on the right making a bad attempt to look like his is actually playing the guitar is from the 40s lol.
And the guy on drums ??
Widder23D not old enough to drink
Just love it. Proper singer 👏👏👏👏👍
Mike Batt of wobbles plus loads more produced this,Phil Spector influence very strong on this 🎵🎵👍👍
wow a blast from the past.
Such a beautiful song
Superb ! Eternal Gem ! 🚀
Brilliant.
It's so taking the piss and I love the way they are all dressed
The KF's live just lifted your spirit's.
Just a pity they never made a mint as they deserved to.
Great gig at Coventry Lanchester Polytecnic.
Brings back great memories when I was 15 and mi dad let me bunk off school the odd time to go with him on a trip out in his truck.
LOL. Same here. My dad drove a Merc truck delivering copper wire to different factories around London. Never forget picking up the empty drums with loads of wire still on them. Took them home, unrolled the wire and dad took t down the scrap yard for my pocket money. And for his beer money! Happy days.
Fab song and the best lyrics ever!
Still luv it was 12 wen this was out remember the teen angst so well
I was 10 when i first saw this forgotton classic tune on t o t p, at the time i thought the lyrics were so deep and meaningful, but now they sound so cringeworthy, but i still adore the song.
The one with the Hawaiian shirt is an old school friend of mine, I was at his house way back in 1960 when he got his first guitar, how my old friend has come since that time, good on you vic Collins, only saw him again at another old friends send off just a few months ago
1 of the best band's to come out of Essex
This song is brilliant it's so funny 😂😂😂😂😂😂 it's one for the time vaults some great lyrics jx
The Phil Spector sound meets the Estuary.
What a year !!!
what a tune really!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely love it. A true classic
Brilliant track, and introduced by Mr. JAMES SAVILLE. What more could anyone want?
ermmmm Well ... introduced by just about anyone else, I would have thought.
Rhyming urgent with detergent-brilliant.And laundry with quandary!
My analysis of this song...
She thinks that although she's been caught out as a two timer, she can carry on doing it, just as long as she can believe her partner isn't aware of her knowing her deception has been uncovered. Unfortunately for her though he is, so their future is in his hands.
As long as the man in this instance chooses not to let her know that he's aware she knows she's been caught out, it's possible for him to allow their situation to continue, if he so chooses. To let her know of his awareness, would be such as to render her guilty of both deception and indifference were the situation to continue, which would probably be more than the relationship could sustain. The decision is therefore his to take.
She probably would try to make herself believe that he would think she isn't clever enough to have realised that he would know she's two timing, and therefore make herself believe it's safe to continue the affair. Were she to realise that he was aware that she knew she'd been caught out, then she could not continue two timing unless she was wholly indifferent to their relationship.
One more thing. Even though she knows she's been caught out two timing, she probably believes she can carry on making him think that she thinks she's truly getting away with it. Except she can't, as unbeknownst to her, he's already found out that she knows he knows..
Perhaps one other way of getting it is to understand that she's not cheating even after knowing that she's been caught out knowing that she's been caught cheating. Instead, she's just cheating after knowing she's been caught cheating.
"just as long as she can believe her partner isn't aware of her knowing her deception has been uncovered"
The only thing he needs to know is the cheating, not her awareness that she's been rumbled.
Well said!
Fantastic song, happy memories.
Radio 2 songs of the seventy’s plays the best 70s music ☀️
Saw this great band at the Chalk Farm Roundhouse in the 70's when P Shuttleworth.singer, went off mid gig to return having shaved his moustache off. Audience probably didn't notice being on a different planet but i did...
Brilliant! Loved it then, love it now
Absolutely brilliant band and track, saw them 2 weeks ago at the Rebellion Festival in Blackpool and as soon as he opened his mouth it wasn't the song I recognized it was those unmistakable teeth. I still have nightmares from my children about those teeth.. how is it possible for teeth to be so many different lengths and pointing in so many different directions. Fair play though as he still looks amazing.. Top band ❤
They were inspired by Phil Spectres Wall of Sound. This is such a great song
You did not get many acts performing live on TOTPS in the 70s but this was defoe live, great stuff.
Live? With an invisible string section.
No. Not live 🤣
Bought the album chocs away back in 1976 still got it .
As a South Essex bloke I loved the music scene there in the mid-1970's. Funnily enough I was at school with the bass guitarist of this band, Richie Bull - the big bearded guy wearing the straw hat. He was actually a brilliant banjo player too.
I m doing some music and love music-history . Am I right never ever seen a cover-song to this track ? I got the single 1976 when 6 yrs old.. today hearing loud my 20 yrs old daughter cried " stop this crap" ..when dancing to it.. ;-) .This makes classics.
Love this songxxxx
Great live performance which makes a change for Top of the Pops where artists mainly mimed.Must be an existing backing track they are singing to to get anywhere near the production of the single. Another great Mike Batt arrangement which made No.14 in the UK singles charts.
Great tune my dad used to luv this one hit wonder
Furkn hillairious classic seen the kusles at middlsbrough town hall fifty years ago love mm
After nearly 50 years I still can't work out who knows what.
Saw this on BBC4 last night , classic
I love the Kursaal Flyers Little does she know and I asked Alexa to play it but it doesn`t play as Alexa doesn`t recognize the group`s name - Ask for the song and a 5 minute version plays. Absolutely wonderful bringing back the best memories ever. 46 years later and I love singing it to this day. In 1976 I tried to write the words of the song and got it so wrong. Now I sing it correctly and my grandchildren haven`t a clue what I am on about. You Tube can be fantastic for memories.
Saw them live at Manchester Uni a few months before this single. Great band. Mind you ..the support that night were even better ... they were called Burlesque.
My funeral song and no one will know why❤
great memories..i am just in southend for school girl reunion..:)
Fab :)
i saw this group in the 1976
Nuther cheeeeeeezy song from way back,I luv it xxxx
Great song! Great coiffe!
one of those songs you can't get out of your head. but I wouldn't buy a second hand motor from the singer
he became a dentist after his singing career dried up for him
Fukin brilliant..
My German teacher made us listen to this song and do some packet for some reason😂 like we listened to it in English and everything it was the most random thing but I love this song now
