      Just a heads up Buddy. You may want to edit the video to take your house and face out. The “drone police” on the internet may make a complaint with the FAA about you violating the 400ft above ground level rule. It’s 400ft regardless of if in controlled airspace. Just looking out for you!

    DONT DO THIS!!! You could get arrested for flying over 400 feet if you get caught but thats not it. Your drone could fall from the sky and kill someone. I flew my potensic atom se at 2680 feet (somewhere near that) and i brought it down. The wind suddonly started to blow very hard and something happened (idk what) it was probably motor failure or a bent propeller and it fell. I was VERY lucky that i was on vacation at the time at Kauai, Hawaii near the ocean because the wind took it and moved it tword the water. The last picture it transmitted to the controller was it upside down right above the water far away from land. The point of the story is not to fly very high because you never know what could happen. The drone was in perfect shape! I never crashed or damaged the drone in any way. I kept it in a case for its whole life out of the sky. I never flew above the clouds but i did film them above the drone. The fact that you were flying through the clouds makes it worse! Clouds are in the form of ice. That can hit the propeller and snap it off (in a rare case) and if it killed somebody, you would be in jail for life. I highly reccomend not doing this because one little mistake and your life is ruined.

    • @brickaddict1964
      @brickaddict1964 3 года назад +2

      There’s a section on the app/ camera screen, when all set for flight you click top right (menu) and there’s a section (can’t remember what it’s called) where there are 3 options, the first two are M (meters) and it’s the third one- farthest to the right, says something like “imperial.” That will change it to feet.

      @@SgtBarrel point is they may take a little damage. Would be expected. That damage isn’t from the the speed the plane was traveling though hitting a slow moving bird.
      But the speed at which them turbine fins are actually spinning is where that came from.
      Whatever material it’s made of an the speed it’s spinning caused the damage.
      Same with a pistol bullet. Bs a rifle. Under 1,000 feet a second the bullet is going to hold its shape for the most part hitting something hard. Shoot the same thing with a rifle round it’s going to fragment all over.
      Point was. A small 249 gram drone. Isn’t going to take down an aircraft. It may get damage but it’s not gonna come down. At most fuck up its engines efficiency

    Just to educate anyone planning on doing this in the future. The FAA has had more time on their hands to search for and fine unauthorized pilots for flights just like this and serve hefty fines along with other penalties and charges.
    DO NOT FLY OVER 400 FEET

    • @ericnicolaysen3015
      @ericnicolaysen3015 3 года назад +2

      @@brandycox9351 you have to think about the worst possible situation. Skydivers would certainly pay the price for colliding with anything, as they already do with collisions with birds. One might think that the props on even the smallest, backyard built helicopter would eat a plastic drone alive; but what if the drone didn't collide with the prop, rather with the pilot through their open cockpit.
      Then obviously there's the commercial jetliners, designed to survive lightning strikes, migrating flocks of geese, and hail. Sure they're designed to take a hit, but all of those things have brought down planes before.
      The logic behind flying under 400' and within line of sight guarantees that the pilot is at least trying to understand that Earth's air is not like an empty soccer field that they're free to roam as they please, but rather a very open and wide road, that does have traffic, albeit quite less traffic than one on the ground, and a road that doesn't have much give when it comes to collisions.
      There's no sense in risking lives for something the RUclipsrs will get a few thousand views for. I wouldn't appreciate a drone strike happening to my flight carrying my family. Not one bit.
      All this is my own opinion, and I use drones to make money on the side. If you enjoy flying like this, i urge everyone to take a class and get their part 107 license! Lots of useless info, but that same info helps you understand that you're in the air with other manned aircraft, and they don't get to simply pick up the pieces and go home after they crash into the ground.

      Not exactly true, it's actually 400 feet...but if you are flying near a building or land mass you can fly 400 feet above that mass or structure as long as you're within 400 feet of said mass or structure@@mikerplays

    • @dubyrunning
      @dubyrunning 11 месяцев назад

      @@hosephotographer9630You can fly your drone 400 feet above an object or landmass that your drone is within 400 feet away from horizontally. So of you're within 400 feet of a tower or landmass you can fly 400 feet above it.
      In this case he says he's takes it up to 1,200 feet above ground level (AGL, which is how these drones measure altitude). There is no indication there's an 800 foot tower or landmass within 400 feet of the drone, so this does violate the FAA altitude limit.
