In my experience, if you have to push that hard to make a deal, then its definitely not worth it. I get that some people need a little push, but you definitely went well over the top! At least you didn’t really lose anything except your time.

He wouldn't let me go to his house, he was 3 hours away. He said this was from his grandpa etc, I also have his number. The red flag is on Facebook the account was new.

I just got back into collecting comic books. I had sold my previous collection about 5 years ago. I do miss a few of the books but it ok. This time Im focusing strictly on GI Joe and Transformers and GI Joe vs Transformers. Im really finding out that there are similar people on Ebay, even with good ratings. Never sending the item, no message returning, ignoring cancelation requests.
At $1200 for the lot it might have been cheaper to tack on a plane ticket to fly down there and pick up the books and fly out (although this guy sounds nuts so who knows)
James my friend ill tell you what happened. Apart from being an anti social I think what happened is he got an offer in person and everything else was pure horse **** . The paypal stuff happened after the fact. He didn't burn them or throw them out because someone else already had them.

In the last few years it's hard to not think Texans are just born with a bad name. The state seems to consistently go out of its way to alienate everybody. I used to visit there and outside of Dallas, which I didn't like at all, I enjoyed hanging around Texans. But now it no longer holds any appeal at all for me. I don't even like when the state is featured prominently in old western movies, which I used to love, because all I can think of is how much the place will develop and try to betray the rest of the country.

Either he never had them OR he didnt want to let them go. He most likely "sold them" to as many people as he could without ever sending them and thats what likely got his account blocked. And he probably did call someone some bad stuff after they were messaging him when they figured out that they got scammed.

In our business, my wife has a 3-call rule. If a client calls us more than 3 times with questions without actually sending the project, we know they're not serious, or they may be from a competing company trying to figure out our methods. We tell them we've covered everything we could and to send the project or not. I understand in the comic book world, there are some buggy people, but you were a bit greedy and scammers use that to keep you on the hook. And as you've now found out, he's still trying to pull additional people into his scam. Probably his uncle in in on the scam and they had no intention of selling the books.

Had that happen they didn’t destroy the books if they ever did have them…was gunna go buy a 71 Monte Carlo and on the day buddy was pissed off wanted to destroy it if I didn’t show up in 45 mins and I lived 6 hours away. And was just getting my trailer ready… I knew he wasn’t gunna be serious then and said go ahead and didn’t do the drive. Had them get super pissed at me but I knew once I got there they were not gunna give me the car

I don't why you didn't realize this was a scam from the beginning? Fron what you say it sounds like you never had any comics at all. There was so many red flags from the beginning.
