Forgot how good this film is, it's a masterpeice. Was feeling pretty low and it really cheered me up.
I feel like Wes Anderson’s style is a bit of a love letter to my dad’s era of TV and movies - 1950’s and early 60’s. The pacing, dry humor, and style needs to be linked to that era of film and TV. Not a ton of movie-goers today can relate to that style the way I can from my introduction to my dad’s favorite shows growing up. I will want to see this movie, and appreciate his style, though! Moonrise Kingdom and Grand Budapest are probably my favorite Wes Anderson movies.
This film has probably the greatest soundtrack of all time, yet the trailer does not. What gives?

"O.R. they ?" best joke, caught me by surprise during the movie. Not my favorite Anderson movie but it's interesting to see the beginnings of Wes Anderson with this and Bottle Rocket. 😂
Hahahaha: Bottle Rocket, Rushmore & The Royal Tenenbaums are FAR SUPERIOR to anything else he ever made. That’s because Owen Wilson CO-WROTE those 3. Obviously, Wilson brought something to the table at THE WRITING STAGE that Anderson can’t seem to MATCH since Wilson stopped Co-Writing. Some screenwriters NEED a REALLY GOOD co-writer to make good stuff. Anderson has used other Co-Writers since Wilson, but the END PRODUCT ends up with The Wrong Tone.
I know because of copyright, but the trailer SUCKS with all the music removed! Criminal!

Yeah, did the use rights for The Creation and The Who for previews recently expire for preview purposes? Please watch the movie. The soundtrack is entirely obscure edits of British Invasion bands selected by Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo. Also this movie is the best Houston filmed movie ever made. It's an entirely accurate depiction of a Houston sub-culture. Wes Anderson wanted to film in New England because he thought audiences would not believe something like this could exist in Texas. Budget constraints forced filming in Houston and the results were perfect. It really was like that here. Think about the Bush family relocating from Connecticut and you'll understand.
Wow, almost 20 years and I think this would have been another Dead Poets Society.
This is beyond Dead Poet's Society (and I love that film).

This is practically a perfect movie. It has just the correct amount of Wes Anderson.
Watching this trailer made me realize the kid they got to play Jason’s son in Asteroid City looked just like a young him from this movie

This preview has been purged of the music in the movie because preview rights only last twenty years. The movie will have insane tracks from lots of British Invasion bands. The only band you will have heard of in the movie is The Who, but it will be a song you have never heard.
The movie has the original music. Watch it. It's the best movie ever filmed in Houston and really captures a Houston subculture most outsiders could not understand.

@@tomstack9228 I guess gandhi, mother teresa and Sigmund Freud were born in the same century as his. So, Either albert Einstein must be time travelling back then or you can just accept that there should hav been the name in the intro.
Einstein wasn't that significant, he was just famous.
