Every line in this movie is pure gold. You can pick one at random and it will sound iconic.
Artur Tres O-R They?
Edward has more spark and imagination in his finger nail than Harman blume has in his entire body.
whos this guy
A dead fingernail
"Did you tell everyone my mom gave you a handjob?"
Anyone who accuses Wes Anderson of style over substance is dead wrong.
HoustonProductions1 Exactly man!! You make great videos btw
HoustonProductions1 I agree, the style IS the substance
Yep
the substance is overwhelmed by the style.
Except that is an opinion, and personally subjective, so it can't be wrong...
She's my Rushmore Max
I watched this movie for the first time last night. I was given the criterion version by my APUSH teacher and me and him have constantly discussed my struggle between maintaining good grades yet the desire to create stories through writing and movies. This movie touched me personally so hard in such in impactful way. Not many movies make me stand up and say “This is the type of movie that makes me want to become a filmmaker” every movie makes me feel that way. Rushmore imo is a movie about finding the hidden layers in love and how Ms.Cross wasn’t the woman to be Max love but the key to finding the three different aspects of love in his love. To love a friend, a lover, and most importantly, his hobby/career/passion. Appleby to me was the person that represented who Max was going to be. The last shot I feel like doesn’t represent him falling back in love, but that because of his love, because of her, he has found all the love and good things in his life, the things that matter. His family life on this love spectrum as I look at it was always there but never was a new layer really introduced or explored until especially as a teenager through a crush. I think thats was Wes films have always been about, love, the different forms and odd, crazy, yet beautiful ways it comes in our lives. Lastly, Wes especially inspires me when just like him, I’m at academic probation right now in a private school, desperately wanting to be a storyteller who has been born and is being raised in Houston,TX. I’m in my Junior year right now and the only fear I have is that I will either lose my creativity or that I won’t embrace it enough, but really mostly embrace the love I have for my life and others lives.
@BxxDxx Hoodoo And your doing something better?
@San Patricio's Space Dolphin Brigada Wait, what :D No he doesn't, do you even know what ideology means? Guy spills his heart out in this comment and relates to both omovie and Wes Anderson and you simply write a nasty comment serving no other purpose than to bring him down.
Why are you being trash ? :/
One of most underrated teen movies and one of most underrated Wes Anderson films in general.
Rushmore is still his best imo
Well done. Well done.
"Nah, I didn't get hurt that bad."
Still probably my personal fav of his movies, this and Moonrise Kingdom. They're all so great though.
This is probably the best video in this channel to date. Love your work guys! Please keep it coming
No, their best work was the video about the man in the bear suit in The Shining. Oh wait, that was all plaigerised...
Rushmore was my first exposure to Wes Anderson so it will always be my favorite. It’s pure brilliance.
Love this movie.
I still want to watch Serpico: The Musical.
Tell me you're about to do an entire Wes Anderson series of videos in a run up to the release of Isle of Dogs.
I would especially be looking forward to my personal favorites Steve Zissou, Moonrise Kingdom, and Grand Budapest.
I can't believe no one puts this on a much watch list in film school.
Rushmore has been one of my favorite films since I was a kid. Yet every time I go back and watch it, I learn to appreciate it more and more as I get older.
All i need now is a ScreenPrism of my life and ill know where im going wrong where others are going right!
That was incredible, I like the film but have never realized the meaning and messages within it. Fantastic video
Shot in my beautiful Houston, Texas.
Wes Anderson makes me so dang proud to be a Houstonian!
H-Town hold it down! 🤙🤠
As someone recently divorced, this film was very cathartic
Beautifully and thoughtfully done!
I wish he would collaborate with Owen Wilson again. Rushmore and Royal Tenenbaums are the best.
Sarah3984 the French dispatch is out soon, also he’s in the grand Budapest
I love Wes Anderson Movies they are so unique and colourful.
This is a beautiful video essay! Great work!
Ooh la la by Faces is the best track that plays and I believe it best symbolizes the film
I just got one up of an attempt at covering ooh la la, it's not great but may get a good laugh!
Beautiful video as always 💗
I have to look up the "you are forgiven" montage w/Bill, then the ending Vietnam play right now. Love Rushmore so much.
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for the well done video putting words to the complicated emotions I have watching the movie.
great movie. still my wes anderson's favourite
Ah my favorite!
Great work guys . I understand the depth of effort you have put in to make this video and thank you for that . Waiting for your next piece
If I could make a film about the lessons I’ve learned in my years of living so far, it would be this
It's the best film review I've ever seen!
Great job!
Love Wes Anderson's style sooooo much ♡
This is brilliant. Thank you for this ScreenPrism
This is such a fantastic video, masterfully crafted and executed, bravo! thank you!
Wow, another informative film focus. Great stuff
Damn it, I love this movi
Excellent video :) hopefully you find excuses to cover other Wes Anderson movies!
I'm sad you didn't talk about Margaret :(
nevermoreL89 i love Margaret! And Dirk! He's such a solid character.
Always ignored, by Max AND ScreenPrism.
Awesome😊
Best play ever man....
One of the greatest movies of all time. "What's the secret, Max?"
Great essay!
“For me, it’s going to Rushmore.”
Brilliant!
freud would love this film
Great!
Another amazing video and it's Rushmore with it's subtle ironic"ness"!
This is great, but one quibble: you note correctly that Anderson attended St John's, which is where much of the Rushmore scenes were shot -- but you say so over a shot of Lamar High, not St John's. Lamar was the stand-in for Grover Cleveland in the film, and is -- hilariously -- across the street from St John's in Houston.
I noticed that too. I was in Houston a few weeks ago and went to see St John’s and the school actress the street.
Note, however, that the exterior shot at 3:45 is of Mirabeau B. Lamar public high school located across the street from St. John's. See GPS 29.742111, -95.426509 on your favorite street view web site.
Too right. They mislabel Lamar as St John's. It also has part of its campus next door to Lamar.
3:45 that isn’t St. John’s , that is Lamar high-school which is next to St. John’s
You should do a video on Peter Greenaway's films. He is thought to be a big influence on Anderson, they are very similar in style.
great vid
Do something for Alfonso Cuaron or Terrence Malick!
Please make an analysis of V for Vendetta
Did they mention The Faces - Ooh laa laa? NO.?
By far the most important song that plays in the film
Fucking brilliant
Can you do a 'You know you're watching a' essay on Wong Kar Wai?
sic transit gloria :)
Ooh! Do Sofia Coppola next
All of Anderson's films have been shot on location.
I want to live the life of Henderson movie
Owen Wilson also!
I SAVED LATIN
Lamar High School in Houston was the one used. Wasn’t it?
Both St. John's and Lamar were used in the film. Lamar was Grover Cleveland High and St. John's was Rushmore.
Yes! Thanks right. Katy High School Band is also in there as well. I'm a Houston native.
Carlos Nino me too! Houston is great!
To be honest I can't remember what Wes' movies are about, and it doesn't matter. I just want to se cool people in cool scenes with cool music. The story is just a motor for cool things to happen, and that's ok.
What’s the outro song?
I saved Latin
Bottle Rocket definitely feels more realistic.
Please do margot tenenbaum!!!
you fucked up the o-r they joke. the punch line is murrays choke reaction.
Although the ending is not exactly a happy one: Max and Rosemary are in love with one another
Please do Lars Von Triers. I watched only two movies of his till now- Nymphomaniac vol1 and vol2.
I like the story structure- that too was alot chapter wise. Can you find some more distinctiveness?
We've done one on Von Trier ruclips.net/video/iXyTWHAS50o/видео.html
Wes Anderson needs to return to his roots. His last two movies have been intolerable. They look like a kid playing with very expensive legos.
Are you a nerd fighter?
This movie sucked.
whatever you say, this movie is extremely boring and irritating. and this is something I can say for other Anderson movies. so, I guess, he's not in my tastes
Wes Anderson movies suck, they are so boring and the characters vapid
