This is one thing that can't be toleranted, period. No bargain and no excuses. Did you see that 2 men looked back and faced the guard with an evil, hatred manner and ready to fight because they felt that they lost their pride. Yes, in these countries, they can kill you if they are not respected. Since we can't change the world, I suggested applying the fees just like entrance fees as Hollywood or Disney Land touring. To be fair, it is not only the Chinese. The Eastern Europeans and Indians ... and even some British folks tend to challenge the Royal Guards too by giving the Royal Guards death stares. I believe that since we viewers have been complaining, some tourists, troopers and guards understood how wrong was and is to step so close to the horse and to them. However , disrespectful people exist. TOUR BUSES have instructions in many languages, they should advice about the rules to be obeyed in every place.
This rule has been a long time coming. The tourist have got used to this base being a DISNEY THEME PARK !!. Now respect plus SECURITY has been taken back to Horseguards. In today s world it is too dangerous for crowds to be anywhere near these beautiful creatures
I have noticed that the number of people around the horse has decreased. I think that this new rule, plus the ones that will be added later of course, since there are still some rude people, will end up scaring away mass tourism.

Well done Guards for doing a great job under difficult circumstance!💖 If all of these rules don't work the only alternative is to have tours only round horse guards or shut the place completely to tourists. The people in the comments like myself are not liking the fact that the guards seem to be able to do as they please with the rules. Which to me as a military establishment is unusual as I always thought soldiers had to follow orders, so why haven't these rules be put into orders that they must under no circumstances allow the horses to be abused and that they must open their mouths to accomplish this goal. I do wonder if we were at war the soldiers would be allowed to choose whether they fight or not! It does seem that a good number of people do understand what the white lines mean but this also means that people who do know what the lines mean and still ignore them are showing disregard and contempt to our soldiers, which should mean an on the spot fine of at least £50 for breaking the rules and not obeying the guards. I think the biggest problem is that nobody has told the tourists this is a working barracks not an amusement park or petting Zoo which I think should have been put in place the moment horse guards was opened to the public, I am sure it could still be remedied now with signs explaining this and someone outside doing the same in different languages also able to tell people not to cross the white lines. Perhaps with a bit of forethought all of this rigmarole could have been avoided so much sooner. 😪

This place is a working military base. People are lucky that they are allowed as close to the guards as they do. So just listen and respect their instruction. The guard should scream louder😂. What’s in that white line.? ? It’s either both their feet are on it, or one foot over it, they can’t just get away from it. But I noticed that the kids have more brains than the adults.😂
We also understand that the purpose of the regulations is to protect everyone. For example, do not touch the horses because many people have been bitten and the white paint box is to keep a safe distance for tourists to prevent horses from biting and kicking. So many times when the guards see that it is safe for everyone, they do not need to remind them.
You don't need to stand next to the horse to take a picture. It is much safer now. Also in front the guard needs space in case horse becomes restless or bolts.
They are .. they don’t want to go there .. because the other side has more chance of sneaking up on the horse to touch it or with a bit of luck at least have their photo next & near to him.. “ the obsession with the horse is overwhelming to say the least “

You don't need to stand next to the horse to take a picture. It is much safer now. Also in front the guard needs space in case horse becomes restless or bolts.

They are .. they don’t want to go there .. because the other side has more chance of sneaking up on the horse to touch it or with a bit of luck at least have their photo next & near to him.. “ the obsession with the horse is overwhelming to say the least “
The guards were being changed so the other side is more safer for people to be “ carrying on “ they’re going to use the gate side to go in & fresh horse & guard can be coming into the box
