Gorgeous photos. Perth still holds onto a lot of the vibe I felt from seeing these photos, even if the pace has picked up a bit. One of the reasons Perth and WA is always in my heart.
A much smaller city then, but some landmarks virtually unchanged eg City of Perth building.
Wow…remember Perth like that. Left in 2015, returned 2019 for a holiday and saw so much change in that short span. Wonder what I’ll see when I next get to visit…
Yeah I went to Perth recently and was blown away how much it's grown in 20 yrs. I lived in the Scarborough / doubleview area thru the 70s and 80s. Great times
Used to live in Northbridge in the early 80's, back then like Freo it was deemed a dive.
The 87 America's Cup sure changed all that.
3:20 -Sid Plummer spruiking outside Hoyts. I worked with him at El Cabello Blanco 1987. Great bloke. Shame you couldn't drop one of those 40 or so shots of the Esplanarde/ Langley water-gulping wasteland and put in maybe a WACA, Bus Station or St Mary's one, haha.
Remember the old Swan brewery lights alternating between a yacht and a sailing ship.... before it became the 150th anniversary Swan symbol.
