I knew you were invested in the spirit of this series when you were witnessing a live resurrection but the main concern was "LOOK AT HOW MUCH DRAGON MEAT IS LEFT FOR COOKING!". Truly one of us now.
Pretty sure Dunmeshi does not have the concept of dark elves as a race, but instead they are elves that succumbed to the evil. And even that is just in-universe rumour (because all other race hate the elves) as far as I am concerned.
Not true actually, dark elf is just a slur other races came up for elves that were mean to them, thats literally canon, dark elves are not a thing, its just racism
There was a scribble comic that showed the origins of dark elves. In the beginning, a small group of elves went out to help the short lived races, unbeknownst to the rest of the elves. The people these elves came into contact with were helped so much that they thought all elves were like this. When these people met other elves that weren't this nice, if not hostile, these people made up the idea that they must have been dark elves.
forgot if the manga goes into nationalities for elves but if go common tropes you got wood/nature elves and high/arcane elves. wood being the more traditional elves that maintain their ties to their homelands vs high elves are more "civilized" with cities, governance and such. wood elf features are more tanner/darker while high elves are lighter skin. but yeah "dark" elves (spoilers if reading frehshest) 3 2 1 dark elves are the whole drow trope with black skin, red eyes and white hair and yeah only ppl with noble blood have those. super spoilers below from also adventurer bible vol 1 and 2. 3 2 1 only 3 is known from the manga. the queen and the twins. one of the twins being flamela who pp lwill see later in the anime as one of the commanders. the brother is dead and thats do to one day the queen when she heard of the twins only adopted the brother. sometime later the brother died and flamela wasnt told a reason what happened and when she ask they avoid the question. this enraged her on she join the sparrows on purpose to rpetty muich endanger her own life. which kinda works with the queen send agents to watch flamela very carefully. this is a theory ppl discussed on twitter with the queen pass and fantasy tropes. near end of the manga the queen mentions two key things. when her scouts tell her about the feast and how it taste the queen brought up she tasted something similar long ago but tasted bad. one of the elves questioned it before later queen says with the dungeon power gone they now have luxury of time. ppl wanted the dungeon power with one key thing is immortality but to the queen it aint an issue with it gone with it hinting she have a contingency. to the fantasy trope commonly red eyes and silver hair is to vampire lords or liches in disguise. lich most likely no with how overused it is so ppl theorize the queen is some form of vampire lord.
I mean Marcille needs to make sure the spell worked properly she needs to take EVERY SINGLE PART of Falins body under CLOSE INSPECTION she REALLY needs to make sure that EVERY body part works JUST RIGHT it's ALL part of the medical procedure
3:01 Senshi’s nodding was in agreement with Chilchuk’s outburst, akshully. He has prior record of being a _bit_ more aligned with Chilchuk than Laios, as far as Laios seeming to prioritize eats over communication skills (his comment about the sherbet not being possible if Falin was around, and consuming the parasite flesh raw, and here “wait, why would we reassembled the wargs?”)
Makes sense that Marcille isn’t really a combat mage, but just a squishy academic with an interest it the occult, specifically the Dungeon. That said she seems to have been able to pull off an impossible feat of magic. I wonder what wil happen next, now that the use of a forbidden ritual was discovered by the dark elf in the blue coat from the paintings. By the way those paintings seem to imply he has been around since the time the entire city was in the surface, i.e. before the creation of the Dungeon. Is it possible that he is the Magician that created it or if he knows who he is? Also Falin is a cutie pattootie and I totallly ship her with Marcille.
Marcille may not out-and-out specialise in combat magic but consider that she is better than almost anyone else we see in it. We only see a few people on par with her magic-wise (all later in the manga). She’s incredibly talented in a load of magical fields, esp. given how young she is (in elf terms she’s barely even an adult)
Falin and Marcille: homoerotically bathing together, embracing close as they prepare to sleep together, blushing while staring in each other's eyes "They're such good friends :)"
I have a feeling why Falin seemingly gained new powers is because of the dragon Marcille used to put back her body together. I don’t know if only certain creatures like the Undine are full of mana that it can be imbued by eating. OR if Falin got it differently from the dragon thru the resurrection 🤔
Im interested in figuring out what forbidden magic entails as usualy it would be like bringing the dead back to life but that just seems common place here so I want to learn how it differs and why
I think the reason Falin suddenly got power boost was because they used a dragon's flesh to reconstruct her body. She basically has DRAGON BLOOD in her!
Falin Marcille needs to check EVERY part of your bady to make sure EVRYTHING is FINE she needs to feel up EVERY SINGLE PART of your body she just wants to make sure that you are OK
7:48 i actually think that the reason Falin has increased mana despite being revived is because Marcille used dragon meat (instead of regular livestock meat) to revive Falin, this show is primarily inspired by western fantasy (whether its dnd narnia or tolkien adjacent, lion with wings in the opening and the statues around the city where they slayed the dragon is giving huge Aslan (lion = god allegory vibes or just a very magnificent and holy creature)), and Dragons are always known as the pinnacle of magical creatures no matter which fantasy story is being told so thus they have high magic defense in additional to high armor defense. Look at Vox Machina fighting the dragons, Keyleth a strong magic user (druid/nature magic) did nothing to young adult dragon in ep 1 despite casting strong spells. or in season 2, some of the ancient dragons of the Chroma Conclave are also CASTERS OF MAGIC. Black/acid dragon healed himself with spells in his final battle, ice dragon casted a spell to see through scanlan's illusions in ep 1, and the green/poison gas dragon counter casted scanlan's own spells in ep 1 (all spells mentions were casted without chanting an actual spells). Coincedentally (D)elicious i(N) (D)ungeon -> DND -> DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS??? the anime is probably a loose interpretation of the game rules and worldbuilding but it is basically laid out like a homebrew game (original idea cause it technically is) but the dialogue works out like a bunch people at the table roleplaying and i LOVE IT. This show is scratching my Vox Machina itch, and will tithe me over happily until we get season 3. -i have not read the manga so dont spoil me especially about that LION
also dungeons in dragons is AVAILABLE IN JAPAN so before anyone says "dungeon meshi isnt inspired by DND" ITS A GREAT SOURCE OF WESTERN FANTASY KNOWLEDGE THAT IS READILY AVAILABLE IN JAPAN, there are even japanese dnd commercials so they could have used dnd as reference material and i think that imaginary possibility is neat
As expected, the blood and flesh used will have an effect on the reanimated human. Aside from being a pig that resembles a human, it's the deadliest red dragon.
I mean, grasping at straws is a real thing. I find myself doing that when bad situations arise in a show, I literally start trying to think of any way for things to go right. Admittedly, the ring feels like a better source for the king or whoever we saw in that one episode trying to get the dungeon soul locking spell.
If I understand correctly, some of the blood and flesh from the dragon was used to restore Falin. Could that be the source, maybe combined with the restoration magic, causing her to be OP?
Idk but me being asian it's easy for me too see that not everything in manga/anime is gay based on their action or gesture. Probably because we share alot of similarity with verbal and nonverbal communication with the Japanese. In the west, these actions and gestures, they tend to immediately see it as gay. What i said pretty much apply to overall anime/manga. And they pretty much already gave a hint before that marcille is old and view them as kids just like how chilchuck being 29 that marcille pretty much treated him as a kid.
@mila2394 read what i said again, i said that alot of asian verbal and nonverbal communication or actions and gestures would look gay for a non-asian people because it's not part of their culture.
