      This. Kabru hates monsters but he's very skilled at dealing with fellow humans (which includes all four races) in and out of combat, but due to his disgust of them he is not good at handling monsters. Laios on the other hand loves monsters and he is good at handling them, but he's so bad at dealing with humans the he can't read obvious social cues.

    Kabru’s in-depth ramblings of the people around him is not too different from Laios rambling about monsters. Also getting to hear rumors about Laios’s party members is such a great way to flesh out the adventurers as a community rather than isolated parties. They can recognize each other and interact, almost like having workplace politics. It’s so good.

    10:22 what kabru was implying here is that the toudens gave the money away to people in order to further their illegal activities. They gave the money away even knowing these people don't need it anymore and were involved in illegal stuff. Kabru naturally assumes it wasn't out of ignorance but out of interest and involvement, or out of indifference for how the illegal activities harm others.
    I'd also argue Kabru was coldly practical when killing those dudes because his reasoning was that they'd just kill other innocents in the future and they couldn't exactly just drag them out of the dungeon. Basically, he's a character with very clear morals about helping society and seems willing to do anything for that purpose, which can be seen as morally gray.

    • @alessandro348
      @alessandro348 3 месяца назад +7

      You're a bit off, Kabru does assume it was out of ignorance/indifference, meaning they didn't care to learn about their former comrades and realize how shady they were. Yes they're kind enough to give money, but too naive and absorbed in their own interests to notice they were getting scammed into contributing to something criminal.

  • @leonardomarquesbellini

    "Human" is the generic term for people in Dungeon Meshi. It includes tall-men (the ones we see as "human"), dwarfs, elves, gnomes, ogres and half-foots.
    Kabru was talking about how no matter the differences in body size and proportions all the human races there are more or less the same as far as where their weak points are, things like the major blood vessels, organs and fragile bones. That is to say, even though he kind of sucks against monsters he's trained in killing humans.
    He's like the anti Laios, I guess. Very good dealing with people (violently or diplomatically) but useless against monsters.

    Kabru is like the anti-laios. Including his party
    They're like mirrors.
    Laios is interested in monsters, he knows how to fight them and what their weaknesses would be. Super handy in a dungeon. However, you've already noticed he's sometimes honest to a fault and has poor social-skills when it comes to interacting with other people.
    Kabru, from what you've seen here, is more interested in people. He knows a human's weakness (elves, tall-man, dwarves, half-foots are humans, they're just sub-species). He can easily guess a person with enough background information. He'd make a great assassin or politician. He's a great people-person, even if manipulative.
    Unfortunately this doesn't really help in a Dungeon since they're fighting monsters 8 or 9 out of 10 of the time. Which leads to his party always getting killed.
    Can't wait for next week's episode.

    What's interesting with Kabru & his party is that their goal so far is not to "conquer" the dungeon but outright put a stop to it. The group all have full faith in his skills & see him as a true leader, while seeing him murder people in what's likely an occasional basis. Kabru hates monsters but is terrible at killing them, but seems to have a silver-tongue & excellent at fighting humans/humanoid monsters.
    He sees the Touden siblings as either money-laundering scum that funded weapon dealers, or tactical geniuses, when in actuality when they used to gold scrape it's clear to the audience they were simply hired mercs who, more than likely, got taken advantage by their employers who took the money after claiming to be injured (living armor ep). Kabru's assessment is entirely based on bad faith (which in a world of mercs & magic makes sense), which is why he is so intent on shutting down the dungeon.

    • @nazstarz
      @nazstarz 4 месяца назад +16

      Nah bro you read him wrong. Kabru hates the Touden siblings because from his observation it's clear the siblings didnt care about other people in general. Laios for example never stopped and think that he's being used by the adventurers during the gold scraping jobs, he just wanted an excuse to keep going into the dungeon and look at monsters.
      Kabru deduced both siblings dont care about other people, ergo they will never put humanity first, so Laios would be a bad King if he ever conquer the dungeon.

    I think Kabru more than chaotic is some form of Lawful, his behavior on this episode was more like a Knight Templar: don't deviate from the specific set of morality I follow or you get the sword.
    Namari's backstory was also interesting and explained why she's obsessed with money, since apparently her father ruined her family's reputation and made her and all dwarves outcasts. It was very funny seeing the bad reputation Chilchuck apparently had with the other half-feet, Mickell was really scathing! lol
    Also we got the last name for Falin and Laios: they're the Touden siblings and apparently are fairly well known in the dungeon. That was interesting to see, how they're viewed by others.
    Got invested in Shuro's party, it seems that he didn't abandoned Falin but went to get help as quickly as possible from his retainers instead, since he seems to be some sort of Young Master. Looking forward to all these different parties meeting.

    Tade's head being relatively small in comparison to her body actually makes sense physiologically from a humanoid standpoint. If this impacts the intelligence of ogres is debatable though she is a bit simple-minded but this could just be her and not a universal ogrish trait.

      Vol.3 starts off with kabru party revived by those ppl that want a fee for resurrecting them after they got beaten by treasure bugs. They rushed downward to the water lvl which we saw eps back. They fought razor fish and other sea creatures. When they saw the sirens kabru asked his mage friend fo cast a silence aura spell so they can’t hear it till they crossed the lake. mirkbell gets jumped by the fishfolk with others later and mage turns, saw what happens and about to scream it cuts off on next page to laios party just encounters kabru defeated party and then loot their gear.
