  • Warning Offensive Language. A Westminster woman says she is outraged after witnessing a Los Angeles Police Department officer kick a handcuffed and leg-restrained Black man in the face during an incident Sunday, July 3 in Hollywood.
    LAPD Reply:
On 7/3/22 around 7:15 pm in the 1600 block of Cahuenga, Hollywood Area officers had responded to a radio call of a battery suspect at a marijuana dispensary. While taking the suspect into custody there were several separate use of force incidents. At one point, another male becomes involved when he tried to free the original suspect from the police. There was a use of force with that suspect as well. All the use of force with the suspects was reported as required. A bystander provided their cell phone video of part of the incident to a Hollywood supervisor. It showed what could have been an officer's boot striking the suspect's head. This incident is a reported use of force and the Department is following appropriate protocol and investigating it.

Again, other cops don't set in & deescalate the abuse. This is why the public & especially the bad guys are fight back.

Right. They ALWAYS ignore it like it didn’t happen. They’ll learn when they get tried & convicted like the cops in the George Floyd case… 😉

I seriously doubt this corrupt cop stepped on that guy's face BY ACCIDENT. Yes, it looks like he lost his balance, but he was falling AWAY from the handcuffed guy. After stumbling back for a second, you can see the officer shift his weight back forwards, reach his foot FAR away from his body, then change his aim as he brings his foot down on the guy's face. He chose to step on his face. I say it's abuse. The LAPD and snowflake LA DA will neither punish nor charge this dirty cop.

    1. The is obviously accidental. The gaggle of officers trying to control the combative man.
    2. Moreover, w so much equipment worn, especially on front of officers, you cannot see the ground immediately below your feet. Easy to trip over something you can’t see.
    3. Doubt the man suffered any significant injury
    4. Why would officer do something purposeful for which he could be charged and fired w so many witnesses around including cameras?
    5. Despicable that OC published this without identifying woman giving inane statement and not presenting a counter to her ignorant statement. Reporters are out there every day and publishing videos of alleged police abuse, but publications are not daily but quite rare.
This video and pearl clutching is just a repeat of border patrol “whipping” illegal aliens.
Here’s some perspective on police use of force:
LAPD makes over 4,400 public contacts per day. If, as the woman said, this happens everyday, where are the daily videos. Even if LAPD kicked 1% of public contacts, that would be 44 per day.
Even if LAPD kicked one person per day it would be 0.02% of persons contacted. We don’t see even on video of this alleged act per month, let alone everyday.
In 2019, LAPD made 1.6 million contacts in the year. Same year they made about 90,000 arrests and had about 2300 uses of force for the year. Of those 44 were officer involved shootings, of those 12 were fatal. While some claim police are “hunting Black men” one 1 of the fatal shootings involved a Black suspect.
OC Register / CBS news, be more responsible.

This one is a squeaker. At first it looked like he tripped. Playback again and I suspect the guy in custody said something and the officer cracked. Here again, every time something goes bad it's because someone refused to cooperate. Just do what you're told and nobody gets hurt.

All American citizens have a freedom to say what they want, so long as they are not conveying serious threats to harm someone. The fact that you think it's OK for a public service police officer to kick someone in the head for what the guy said shows how ignorant you are of our rights.
