Totally going to try this now. I have never heard or seen this done until I was trying to figure out how to propagate my Croton Petra plant and the article I was reading suggested Air Layering and so I came to youtube (of course) and found your video. Thank you for taking the time to explain how to do it. You did a great job! :D
Thank u for finally showing me what air layering is. I had no idea what people were talking about. I love the concept and I always enjoy ur vids. Love the sweatshirt too!
Omg this is the first video of yours I came across and you are absolutely adorable!!! Also great info got air layering! Looking forward to seeing your videos!
Hey Jolene, please consider doing an update video on the cutting and on the mother plant so that people know what to expect after :) Lovely video and thanks for sharing your knowledge with us
Great video!!! I think you did great and I am excited to try air layering like you with the top and bottom open, as I also like misting my plants. Your plants all look gorgeous, happy, and healthy!!!!!
I found your channel a few hours ago, and I'm binge watching. You have some crazy ways to propagate, and I'm learning so much! Really interesting video, thanks for sharing!
awesome learning video, my heart kinda stopped when you did the cut, really like your merch design, cant wait for you to launch your own clothing line !! ;)
Thanks for the great tutorial! I've seen people snip the stem 2/3 of the way before applying the moss and that made me nervous. Your way actually makes me want to give it a try. Thanks again!! Happy planting.
Hello! That cutting came out so beautiful! I would pot it together with the mother plant to make the whole thing look fuller👌By the way, do you have any tips on caring for this Philodendron in particular? I'm gonna receive mine in a couple days😊
Great video! *When do you know how to water 💧 your rooted cutting in your Moss? I just translated my Philo Melano into Spag moss because of root rot in my Aroid Mix. Now I don’t know when or how often to water it?
Hi, a very nice video! I am always wondering, after cutting the air layered top off, how did the next leaf (or more leaves) look on the cutting? Did they grow bigger than the previous leaf as it would have if you hadn't cut it off or did it grow smaller as they usually do for cuttings? And what about the mother plant, how did the new growth look like? I would like to try this, but don't want to get smaller leaves for those top cuttings on my verrucosum and albo monstera... Many thanks in advance!
I never heard of air layering! It's so interesting. I don't have any plants big enough for this method @ the moment but I will keep this in mind for the future...perhaps!
Hi Tiesha! You can propagate many plants like rubber tree, croton, dumb cane, monstera or philodendrons with this method. I'm excited for you to try it!
Great...what a fun looking way to propagate, Ive never done any air layering and I do have several candidates around my house ...do you think this method would work well with adansonii or a Rhaphidophora tetrasperma (mini monstera) ? Thank you so much, I really enjoy your videos♥
Hello - do you think its necessary for a climbing plant to hook the aerial roots on a substance to know to grow larger? I really dont like moss poles and I noticed you havea. hard stick instead. Maybe it got bigger due to the air layering though (thinking it found a tree)
Hi Angela! I haven't really heard too many stories of cuttings rot in moss before, I know cuttings can rot easily in water. Maybe the moss was too wet? I keep mine damp at all times, never dripping wet. I wish you better luck next time! 💚
I think it works kinda like leca: fill a cup with perlite and stick the cutting in. Fill the bottom ~1/3 of the cup with water and hopefully the cutting will develop roots to reach the water🤔
Thumbs up this comment if you have tried or planning to try air layering! 😆

I LOVE Travis!
You did a great job!! I had my fingers crossed and my eyes closed while you were cutting, but I peeked and saw the results. Beautiful!
Hey Jolene, please consider doing an update video on the cutting and on the mother plant so that people know what to expect after :) Lovely video and thanks for sharing your knowledge with us
That was really satisfying to watch! So brave lol.
Thanks girl! I'm still trying to recover from the shock! LOL 🤣🤣 Thank god the cutting is doing very well!
@@JoleneFoliage You'll have to give us an update video later :)
Great video!!! I think you did great and I am excited to try air layering like you with the top and bottom open, as I also like misting my plants. Your plants all look gorgeous, happy, and healthy!!!!!
Very lovely plant Jolene! Thanks for this educational video 😊
Thank you!!!🥰

Haha! Thanks Catrina! I'm still recovering from the aftershock of that cut lol!!! But the cutting is perking up, and it should do well!
Hey, super helpful video 🌿🌿 I might give it a go. Any updates? How did both plants turn out? 😊
Thanks for the info✌🏾
Can’t wait to try this!
This video was super interesting to watch, thanks for sharing your tips!
This was SO HELPFUL! Thank you!
Thanks for the great tutorial! I've seen people snip the stem 2/3 of the way before applying the moss and that made me nervous. Your way actually makes me want to give it a try. Thanks again!! Happy planting.
Thanks for the video! 🪴
Wow this is so cool
Good idea
You are awesome 👌 👏 I love your plant and your propagation method 😀
Hi, Jolene, question, what happens to the mother plant after the cutting? will it continue to grow new leaves from the stem?
Yes, 100% :) it will start a new growth point between the stem and a previous petiole
Great video
Definitely wanna try this out!
Hey Ange!! I'm excited for you to try it! Thanks for watching girl!
Hello! That cutting came out so beautiful! I would pot it together with the mother plant to make the whole thing look fuller👌By the way, do you have any tips on caring for this Philodendron in particular? I'm gonna receive mine in a couple days😊
Definitely going to try this process.. Happy to subscribe to your channel.... Great videos , really u are my plant teacher and inspiration....
Awesome video...please do a propagation video on a crawling philodendron like gloriosum for example!
Great video! *When do you know how to water 💧 your rooted cutting in your Moss? I just translated my Philo Melano into Spag moss because of root rot in my Aroid Mix. Now I don’t know when or how often to water it?

So beautiful!!!♡˖ Thank you.
Can you still air layer when old aerial roots seemed to have dried up?
wondering the same
Hi, a very nice video! I am always wondering, after cutting the air layered top off, how did the next leaf (or more leaves) look on the cutting? Thank you I must try this it’s amazing 😉
Hi, can I use coco peat instead of moss?

Hi Tiesha! You can propagate many plants like rubber tree, croton, dumb cane, monstera or philodendrons with this method. I'm excited for you to try it!
I think I will follow your way
Loved your video! I just ordered the verrucosum plant off Etsy after watching your tour. I fell in love. Where can I find that necklace 😍 👁
Awesome, so then the cut part of the mother plant just will grow?
Great...what a fun looking way to propagate, Ive never done any air layering and I do have several candidates around my house ...do you think this method would work well with adansonii or a Rhaphidophora tetrasperma
(mini monstera) ? Thank you so much, I really enjoy your videos♥

I've seen a very similar method used at Logee's (well, in a video). Cool process!
Yayyyyyy this is a great video! Do you think this will also work with a Monstera?
Hi there. Did you make a small cut below the node before putting spag moss? Tried your technique but somehow failed.
I am curious as well what happened to the mother plant where you cut the stem?
thankkkkkkksssssssssss
My Philodendron White Princess is ready to be cut but I’m scared lmaooo. I’m gonna do it soon! Close my eyes and cut!
How many days you wrapped it before cutting maam?
How many weeks or months did it take for roots to grow for you? anyone?
can i use coco peat instead of moss?
I just air layered my mums pear tree and fig tree, let's hope it's successful 🤞🏻
how do you prevent rot at the end of the stem? ive done this before but the stem ends up rotting in moss.
Beautiful plant!!
Hi Angela! I haven't really heard too many stories of cuttings rot in moss before, I know cuttings can rot easily in water. Maybe the moss was too wet? I keep mine damp at all times, never dripping wet. I wish you better luck next time! 💚
@@marthamiriam8983 Thank you!
Hello, I would like to know if the cut plant continues to grow afterwards.
I am not her, but yes it will eventually have a nee growth point branching out
9:15 you jumped the gun.
I can't seem to find Plant Decoop.
Where to buy the green tape that you used for attaching the leaves to the stake?
amazon or ebay, i think its called plant velcro or something? its so good i use it all the time
Why does my airial root become black?
Did u really mist your moss ball daily ??
How do you use perlite to propagate?
I think it works kinda like leca: fill a cup with perlite and stick the cutting in. Fill the bottom ~1/3 of the cup with water and hopefully the cutting will develop roots to reach the water🤔
Air layering is technically more secure but my brain gets so nervous about cutting up my plant haha
For some reason I find pruning incredibly satisfying and relaxing. May be a sociopath.
I think I would have waited for the 2 new leaves to unfurl before cutting off of host plant
😁😄
Very beautiful girl than you!
You planning to SELL.
I just couldn't cut my plant like that until its unruly. Yours seems too pretty don't do it!
Melanochrysum is beautifull..❤
