My dodge tank Ferdinand Von Aegir really proved his worth once by dodging 5 Raging Storms back to back until Edelgard's weapon broke. It was pretty insane.

I probably messed up with Edelgard (focused on making her a tank this time, probably should have just done Mortal Savant again), but Ferdinand was a dancer/sword master dodge tank who could dish out a crap ton of damage.
And that's why I like Divine Pulse. You can set up silly things like that for a cool meme, then turn back time and actually play the game. Great video!

Imagine if Edelgard wasn't able to kill, but Dimitri was able to kill Edelgard. You would be forced to restart the map to save the dead, since you can't use Divine Pulse after winning.
They use them outside of maddening as well. The fortress knight in Miklans chapter can use Helm Splitter. Dimitri will use Atrocity on hard (in CF at least) if you're foolish enough to try to enemy phase him. Some random sniper in the BL route will use Deadeye in Fhirdiad. Leonie can use Knight Kneeler in the pretimeskip battle of the eagle and lion. It's definitely not new to maddening, but so few enemies have combat arts it'd be hard to notice. Also Dimitri still doesn't move on maddening CF for some reason, so it's not difficult to defeat him.
Scott Estrada I kinda wish they did away with ambush spawns that move the same turn they appear in maddening and just replaced them with enemies who can use combat arts or have annoying skill combos (wrath+ vantage on warriors for example). That could’ve made the game difficult but fair imo.
old comment but I've done CF on maddening and eeehhhh. Problem is he's programmed in that fight to stay glued to his spot (or at least he's never moved from there for me) so you can basically kill everyone and then just surround him and use everyone's abilities etc to your advantage vs. Edelgard here who moves around. The real threat on CF maddening in that chapter is Rhea. She will move around and brings in reinforcements and heals half her damage every time she hits. I actually couldn't kill her without using raging storm on her because of that heal move. She needs to be killed turn one to not decimate your army given her abilities and her reinforcements that come with and leave with her (and yeah keep in mind you can use raging storm in CF maddening on Dimitri). So for me killing Dimitri was a matter of mopping up the remaining enemies and was a bit tricky but not that hard.
Ah, this reminds me of the Crimson Flower final boss. If it hadn’t been for this ability, I would have been swarmed by literally every enemy a turn or two later
@@chickenbacon5197 I don't like playing with 2 characters only i tried it and got no satisfaction just dodging everything it's not fun for me just having a dodging main character, i respect it though but prefer a full team and playing as a team, kinda defeats the purpose for me because i like building the characters my own way. I also think the dodging being so strong is a bit too much but it's seemingly been in these games forever so i aint one to moan about it know what i mean because i come from playing games like xcom where you just cannot do that sort of thing.
@@chickenbacon5197 I alway's keep MC in the EO class and they seem fairly balanced as far as i can see and i don't stat booster the MC either, i see people feeding them speed carrot's all day for dodge. It's weird your other units couldn't survive an enemy phase at all though did you just do standard progression paths for them? my team can at least take a hit on enemy phase with good positioning.
Edelgard ability is very strong, When you use her special weapon, she 's not blocked, she can again attack until she finished her weapon to 0/20. Very cheat hehe ;)

This set up was awesome! Didn't know Maddening mode enemies used combat arts! Atrocity Dimitri must be a nightmare haha Honestly I got more distracted by watching Aymr twitching when Edelgard stood still. I'd never seen it wiggling before, but the main heroes relics move at times, so I guess it makes sense that her uniquely forged weapon would act the same too.

This popped up in recommendations although this is old but Dimirti vs edelgard’s dialogue makes a lot more sense because she just got done killing a lot of the blue lion’s students
Yup, thought Edelgard was specifically broken (like a boss specific move) in Maddening when Claude or someone asks Edelgard when will she stop when she kept spamming on a dodge tank and I think she got a critical when the weapon hit 4 durability so I didn’t get to see the broken weapon.
I think the best tactic is just standing in at the edge of her Danger zone and baiting her, or using characters who can finish her, before her turn begins
When i saw the describtion, i never expectet, it meant she could also infinite attack. I understood the effect as like that with the Mount units, that you can move again the step's you didn't walk
Her personal Combat Art allows her to attack again and again. Edelgard can finish Crimson Flower's final chapter in 1 turn. There is a video that showcases this.
