I've seen that one... looks decent, and the MSX version is similar. There is some BGM playing before you start the game, but I wish the music played in game. I did have an Atari Lynx once, and that's another good version although missing the Fly enemy.
This game didn't seem to make a real impact at the arcades, and I struggle to find anyone today who actually remembers it. It's a shame because it's a lot of fun and quite addictive too! At least we have MAME to relive our old memories 🤗👍
While a good game, it may have been a bit confusing for a lot of players at the time. From what I read, Atari Games considered a Mega Drive port for their Tengen label but it was canned. Shame they never went through with it, because it may well have sold nicely on console.
I love it. It's my favorite in MAT2. PSP's Midway Arcade Treasures Extended Play has a good portable version, also... unfortunately the PSN digital version is not playable on PS Vita though.
@@literallyunderrated I've played the Midway Arcade Origins version on Xbox 360 also. Sadly, a serious caveat on that version is that the developer forgot to add the Zap button which you use to stun the robots.
I first played this at Dudley Zoo. My brother and I went around looking at maltreated mad eyed animals pacing backwards and forwards with their tongues hanging out for a while and ended up so miserable and depressed we ended up staying in the arcade and shoveling coins into this for the rest of the visit. It was so fun we forgot we'd paid money to visit Animal Hell.
If you add multiple credits before starting a game, you'll begin with $1 of gold per credit. This could help you get started on buying permanent powerups, which are generally $7 gold to upgrade. I like the extra speed most of all.
@@houstonhelicoptertours1006 That's right, Ed Logg originally wanted to make it Gauntlet III: Catacombs. Atari Games' marketing said they didn't want more Gauntlet, and that this should be a new franchise.
I remember playing this as a child in the arcade, bring back so many memories!
This title looks extremely good for a 1987 game!
2:48, 3:26, and 9:32 are my favorite death noises
This was my favorite game when I was a kid! They had it in the entrance of the north Fred Meyer in Medford Oregon circa 1985-ish. So many memories!
Loved playing the ZX Spectrum version of this, back in the day.

Saw it once, had a dedicated cabinet with special rotary axis joysticks...

I was too busy playing other Atari games like 720 and Rampage
One of the very first arcade games I played heavily. Back in '88 when I was 9. At Pinball Pete's in Ann Arbor, Michigan. See: I remember it 😁
I remember it well.
This game looks really fun I should have played it in my Ps2 when I had the "Midway Arcade treasures 2"

Its also on PS3 Midway Arcade Origins

Judgment Storm I haven’t played it in so long that I forgot about that button lol. But you’re right 👍🏼

You did quite well getting to 17 on 1 Credit, but 16 and 17 were just unfair.
Hard game. I cannot get past level 10. Playing XBox 360. Any cheats out there?

@@JudgmentStorm Awesome tip! I will try that. Thank you.
@@JudgmentStorm I tried. The XBox 360 version of the arcade collection will not allow this. I can, however, change the difficulty.
Permission requested to use this in a music video. Pretty please 🙏
Oh my god it's megaman legends
It's the leftovers of Gauntlet III's arcade version, after being restructured into something completely different.
