I'm really intrigued by that Trefl "Prime" puzzle! I like their normal puzzles just fine, but these seem fascinating, and the artwork on this one is great. Also going to add that Galison to my wishlist; it is lovely! Enjoy your trip!

Lots of lovely puzzles there. I'm sure you will enjoy doing those over time. That rainbow Lego puzzle looks good. I did the minifigure faces one a couple of years ago and gosh it was time consuming. 😮 I wouldn't have chosen to buy it but my daughter and hubby bought it for me so I felt obliged to do it. Currently doing The Queen's Platinum Jubilee according to Blower. Apparently he is the Daily Telegraph cartoonist. Look forward to your next video 😃

Great additions to your collection! Can't wait to see you do the MintyFizz gradient and the Lego puzzle. And thanks for the info about Laurence King. I've done two puzzles from them and found them so frustrating because the pieces did not stay together at all. I checked and both of mine were made in China. It's good to hear that it might be worth giving them another try!

I’m current working through Sunset Tiles. It is a slow go, but not super frustrating. The edges and lighter corners went together relatively quickly, the middle is where I’m having the most difficulty. Besides being a darker palette the overall gradient is more similar - at one point I thought I’d sort by piece shape and immediately regretted it. Sorting by color has its own challenge; shading differences are more obvious when pieces are adjacent than when spread out on the table. I think if I knew more about color theory I might have more success with the color sort. My strategy at the moment is to look for the lightest shade of whatever I’m working on and test from there. With the pieces I have left (the gap in the middle is kinda shaped like California!) I think I might try sorting them on a separate piece of foam board into an orange-ish/purple-ish/blue-ish wheel.
I think it’s worth noting that the piece-quality definitely enhances the experience. There haven’t been any issues with false fits; the finish of the pieces is matte enough that there is no reflected glare getting in the way of color comparison. I generally only puzzle for an hour or two at a time; even though I may not make a lot of progress in that time I do feel able to move forward in every session. On a separate covered puzzle board I have a BetterCo *difficult* puzzle. It also has a dark palette, but the glossiness really obscures the information on the pieces. I started it, abandoned it, restarted it and got about half-way through. I’m determined to finish it at some point - with that one 4 or 5 pieces in an hour is an exhilarating success. I’m going to tackle that one again when I finish this one; I’m curious to see if Sunset Tiles has been a good exercise in color differentiation. By comparison the Mintyfizz is by far the superior puzzle challenge. Good luck, I hope you enjoy it as much as I am - definitely not the one to hone your speed-puzzling skills!

Hi Richard! I have a question, do you think you can make a video about which Puzzle glue works best and which ones to avoid? We have some puzzles that have a holographic finish and we don't want to mess it up with the wrong glue. Thought I'd ask the puzzle expert. Also do you think you could make a video about applying the glue and the proper technique? Would really appreciate it!

I have done The World of Shakespeare and The World of Dickens. I found the pieces didn't interlock well for Shakespeare but it did not detract from the fun I had putting them together. They look fabulous when completed. I love puzzles with lots of words and have just finished doing a puzzle of a vintage atlas page. It was a delight to put together. I am now doing a Wasgij puzzle.

I’m going to have to try a wooden puzzle one day. I love trying different styles and brands of puzzles. I think I need to branch out to wooden one day.
I was a bit thrown off by your comment about there probably not being many people who like football who would also like wooden puzzles though.

@@piecebypiecepuzzler I know quite a few football fans who would not only enjoy completing a wooden puzzle but could also design and cut you one themselves.
