- I acquired a Case IH 1694 (David Brown) from where it had sat for many years with a neighbour. The 1694 was quite a rare beast and so I’m yet undecided as to what to do with it. The 1694 is basically the same as a 1594 but came with factory turbo, trailer breaks and the larger front axle.

Oooohhh. This is going to be an interesting project to watch. Hope you get the old girl running again. Nice classics 👌 stay safe 🏴
Be nice to just see the other projects I've started watching finished 😢

🚨Yes, an interesting project for the scrap press🤔🙄😂😂😒🤷♂️🤷♂️🚨🛑
Bodywork doesn't look too bad at all no massive rot areas at all! Very unusual tractor being a magpie 1694!! What a beast definitely worth saving!
As far as I am concerned every thing David Brown is worth saving
Cool.!
My uncle has always been wondering what happened to his grey TE20, he sold it with a seized engine in the 70’s. He knew it was still registered with the dvla and he’s finally found it in the Coldridge Collection in Devon.
DUX 185. I think he will have to pay it a visit. 😁👍
Glad to see you back on RUclips.
We have dragged home worst looking tractors, always manage to restore them working conditions again, that tractor looks like it has good bones, looks like a fun project, thanks for posting
5/6 love the engineering behind that Great work
Been waiting on the next video from you! I’d quite like a case like that, they look fairly solid and well built.
Yes and best of all its a David Brown what a shame such a good tractor manufacturer isn't around anymore
@@bradleamon4466 the company still exist, but sadly no more tractors
Hello lads I went to the David brown club opening day..There was a few tidy examples taken by club members..I saw that crop master you drove..
Come on old lad, some daft bugger is gonna do it up…. Might as well be you!! 😁😁
The farm we bought in west wales in 1988 before moving to Canada in 2000 had one of those from brand new. They used it for ploughing with a 4f reversible auto reset Kvernland plough that was heavy lifting/ pulling. They had no end of backend and hyd problems with it that I understand was common, there may not be that many left now if they got abused . I'd say you've owned it for a while now so just hang on to it and start collecting parts here and there, that might be one you'll regret selling later. I feel bad for the guy driving the loader looking back while you sit there with your feet up L.O.L, I bet his neck was sore the next day. Thanks for the video, Take care.
Bless it the cab looks in better fettle than our 1490
Potential to be a beautiful machine but it will take a lot of work
My I complement you on this 1694…. Of course it will take time and money to do but you will not regret it but please save it somewhere , somehow 👌 …. Keep safe and well.
Proper tom 👍
Remember one of these from my childhood. Impressive machine. Wasn't it a 1694 that Olly Blogs acquired recently, or was that a 1690, I forget!
1690
How's the Ford looking?
Is that a commemorative edition
Vid on the 1690 plz
when’s the update on the ford?
👌🏁
Could be quite rare now Tom if only 600 were made originally?
We have 3 such 6 zyl Just working
I have only seen db 1694 with db 6 cylinder engine what make is the 5 cylinder engine
It's really a 6. Tom explains at the end that it ran for years on only 5 of its 6 cylinders!
video runnin g ?
Have you got a key it might start hehe mabby on then
She at least deserves a wash
Good idea 🤩 !
That’s a red tractor that’s had a second hand magpie bonnet at some point in its life
No it is a magpie, serial number puts it at 46 units before the end of the magpie colours
@@dirt_and_diesel does surprise me, judging by the puh release handle and sunroof being red inside. Have you still got it?
Ps how is the 1690 and I am a db member.
Why put the tires on backwards
It was just a temporary solution to get it moved. The wheels are from a much smaller tractor so will not stay on if he restores it.
so the took piston and rod out and took rocker arms off and blocked fuel injector ?
Also would need to block the lube hole for the con rod, I've done this before with a small wooden dowl. This was on a 2 1/2 ton GI truck, and boy did it viberate. Diesel (multi-fuel) had a spot around 1700 where it was halfway smoothed out. I locked the throttle and used the fuel shutoff to shift gears.
@@jamesglavich1426 how long did it run like this ?
@@dogwoodish I was Co maintenance in a Tank BN in Germany on the way back from a 35 day gunnery and we were the last vehicle in our entire Brigade. We were pulling our maintenance trailer because the 3/4 had been down for a while When it locked up
@@dogwoodish I don't know why it sent, we had all the tools and me and my motor officer got it running enough that we drove about 80 miles or so. When we stopped at the main gate to go on post, it was done. Lucky it was done enough that upper echelon maintenance just exchanged it without tearing into it then having to answer questions.
😎😎😎🚜🚜🚜👍
Why would you leave it so long and take the wheels off and then decide to fix it years later. Fix it when it first broke down. Hope you can get it going!
I didn’t take the wheels off. The previous owner did when it broke down on him and he abandoned it. I pick it up from his yard in the video
You have the wheels on backwards
They were temporary wheels borrowed from a 995 just to get it home. They are too small to stay on the tractor as it will damage the 4wd system. That’s why it doesn’t matter which way round they went on
Back tires are on wrong way. Need to be switched
