Wikipedia - The de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito is a British twin-engine shoulder-winged multi-role combat aircraft. The crew of two, pilot and navigator, sat side by side. It served during and after the Second World War. It was one of few operational front-line aircraft of the era whose frame was constructed almost entirely of wood and was nicknamed The Wooden Wonder. The Mosquito was also known affectionately as the "Mossie" to its crews. In real life the Mosquito could have a 57mm cannon in the nose. Too bad its not in the upgrade tree; I was hoping to use it like the tank hunter plane in BF1.

RAF said it was ineffective, mossie couldn't maintain it's high speed while strafing, therefore loosing it's biggest advantage over enemy planes. Maybe that's why it wasn't included.
I think the majority of fighting Mossies had 40mm guns on the nose. The Mossie was the RAF's best reconnaissance aircraft because it was in and out, with it being light and equipped with two Rolls Royce Merlins.

That AA tank is the Wirbelwind, there is an "upgrade" that takes away the 4 cannons and gives you 1 bigger cannon, but dont bother with that, its trash. The upgrade you want is the Flaming Onion Rounds, they will light a plane on fire and continue to burn them and deal damage to them. 10/10 best upgrade you can get for it.

@@isni1946 4 oerlikon cannon, armoured and highly mobile. Made by the same nation that designed the excellent Flakpanzer Gepard, the only Western gun based mobile AAA [at least it was*] during most of the modern jet age.
*For 30 odd yrs, only the Germans and Russians managed to solve the problem of accurately targeting fast jets with guns. The Americans tried, and failed spectacularly with the M247 Sergeant York. It seemed to work [eventually] and god knows enough money was thrown at it, but it turned out; the helicopters it had shot down in front of Brass had been loaded with explosives and detonated! Big scandal. After that, none of the results were trusted, even though it started having successes. The execution was flawed from the beginning, as they thought an F-16's radar would suffice for laying the guns. Nope! Ground clutter meant it couldn't distinguish anything below the tree line. The Germans and Russians-much more experienced with AAA as the U.S abandoned guns entirely during project Bumblebee, had seperate detection and tracking radar, and the whole thing was computerized and automated-as the reaction times were too fast for humans.

Niccaman, I'd recommend the hispano cannons. They're pretty much the same thing as the BF109 cannons you were going on about in the other video. They'd be highly effective for blasting infantry.

Hey Niccaman, I've been enjoying your flying videos recently so here is a few general warplane flying tips (I cant afford BF5 right now but these should work)
Tip 1 : As a general rule of thumb, flying heavy fighters such as the Mosquito in dogfights is a bad idea. This can also be said for German Fighters (BF 109, as its one of the best planes for doing this following tip) Basically you need to use your energy conversion and retention - when you spawn fly up so you have height. When you have spotted a target (Ground or Air) dive as hard as you can at your target and fire/release your bombs, as soon as this has been done pull up immediately and climb to altitude. This gets you in and out quick and all your dive speed brings you back up to height again. Do not turn around for another pass or engage in a dogfight. The reason I mentioned the BF109 is from my experience in war thunder doing this in the Messer is extremely effective.
Tip 2 : If you do end up engaging in a dogfight - lower your speed when you turn, I watched you turn multiple times at speed, and learning this naturally is really useful.
Tip 3 : If you have someone on your tail (this took me forever to do in War Thunder) begin circular motions, NOT simply spinning your plane in circles, but move your mouse around the screen in a large circular motion and as you go upside down lower your speed and increase speed as your the right side up. This can get someone to overshoot very easily.

A twin Merlin engine aircraft which has one of the most, if not the most beautiful sound in the world, and you had to talk over it during the entire fucking video. What a smart guy.
The mosquito was the most successful plane in ww2, made entirely out of wood this plane was faster than the spitfire and was excellent for shooting down planes with its large machine guns, blowing up u-boats with its huge automatic cannon and has the same payload as a Flying Fortress. German pilots were also awarded 2 kills if they shot one it also had a fantastic climbing ability. And I think the female mosquito pilot in the game is very disrespectful to the veterans.

He's only been able to inconvenience you. You've gone HEAD ON with him many times and if you knew how to aim your bombs with all the assistance in the world then you would have killed him many many more times.
Guess what that guy is doing all game? LOOKING UP INTO THE SKY, merely inconveniencing pilots. He's not getting to play the game, he's just sitting there waiting for you to turn your back so he can get away with tickling your SUPERFORTRESS a bit with his peashooter of an AA gun.
I'd say, direct hits with the AA should do 40% damage each hit. That would balance out the game a bit. Your bombs when you don't suck at aiming them does 500% damage to him... PER BOMB.

so you're saying an AA gun should take out a plane in 3 shots?
So 1 AA gun should be able to control the sky? Sure they can increase damage but the range should be decreased then. This game is heavily team based, get a friend on aa and you can control the sky.
I feel like if you're flying directly into oncoming flak, the damage against planes need to be increased.
As shown, not only are you able to fly directly towards your target while taking direct fire to the face, but you have enough time to drop your bombs accurately, destroy your target, pull away, AND then still fully repair! Honestly, what more can the person operating the flak cannon do?!
There's a lot of talk about skill, and Nicca himself calls the operator of the flak cannon skilled numerous times, and yet, how often was he fully disabled or killed by the guy? For editing sake, and the point of the video it seems like really only once throughout, and at that point he was down to 30 or so health anyway. At that point, its not skill. Its just a gimme kill at that point.
Also, if youre down to 3 health in the plane, I dont feel like the plane should be fully operational. Needs to be a mobility bonus or something. Make the plane stall in the air, make the controls fall flat.
At 3 health, you should be in a tailspin, crumbling back to earth.

Fast question, did they balance the spitfire and bf 109 fighters? Or is the bf 109 still king?
From my experience there more balanced
I think it's hard to say as most players haven't unlocked most of the specializations that can drastically change the balance between the planes.
Flight characteristics seem nearly identical which means the real difference you get is that the 109 has nose mounted guns which makes getting rounds on target twice as effective compared to the spot because half your spit rounds are missing most of the time.
If they allowed players to change the convergence range on aircraft guns, they could alleviate some of that but relies on players to take the initiative to play around with it themselves. Personally, I think the range it's currently set at is twice what it should be because most engagements are within 100m or so

Axis planes use Kg, while Allied planes use pounds. Because that's how it was in reality.
Original real (internal) payload capability for the Mosquito FB6 was 2 x 250lb bombs, as the forward end of the bomb bay was occupied by the breeches of the 20mm Hispano cannons. Evidently there was a typo in part of the game which was partly corrected. IRL, while the airframe was really quite strong, the rather too upright sitting position of the pilot limited the amount of G-load the pilot could pull.

I use 4x 20mm cannons on that puppy. You can’t move around like a dog fighter, but if u get behind a plane & stay back a bit, you’ll chop them in half. Hit the brakes and left pad for wing repairs. As he flies by, hit him with 20MMs.

I've had a fair bit of success shooting people off of AA while in a fighter, and when fully upgraded in the BF 109 the wing rockets make it almost too easy. They're also very successful against clusters of infantry and do around 25 damage on direct hits against a tank. The down side is that you only get 2.

I wish they actually made it accurate. The mosquito was known as the "wooden wonder" because it was made out of wood obviously, and had little armor. I do believe it also have machine guns with the 20mm cannons

I miss flying over the runway/landing to rearm and repair. Makes way more sense than self-repairing
They should just take out the self repair, and add in a slow repair to near-full that triggers when you fly over the resupply point

19:30 if this is like war thunder the mosquito start with 4 x 7.7mm cannons so having a upgrade to 20mm is HUGE to focus mainly on air combat and ground support, the rockets sound fun but this is ww2 so probably they're gonna be super inaccurate, anyway good video Niccaman the game looks amazing.

Wasnt much of a bomber before this new mosquito, I usually went spitfire or Stuka b2 but I’ve learned some valuable tactics with this video
When will we see a tips and tricks video on settings? And especially on how to dogfight like tighter turns and what not. I really can't tell whether to speed up or brake during a turn it all seems so random to me.

The Mosquito was a night fighter. Day appearances are rare for it. It was considerably fast because of its lite air frame. It was made of wood and that is what allowed it to be manueverable and top speeds of over 400mph. There is only one Mosquito ace in world.
im getting so many war thunder vibes from this... i never thought that a game could be more beautiful that BF1 buy i guess i was wrong BF5 looks better, i want it now( is the video sped up or are those plane unimaginably fast?) this game makes me cry bc i dont have it, i will cry myself to sleep everynight until i have this game
Calls Wirbelwind a 'truck'. Wirbelwind is classified as a Flakpanzer, a Flak-tank as the chassis is a PANZER IV tank. The PANZER IV turret was removed for the Flakvierling 38 AA system.
I wish that they needed the mosquito in real life. Drove the Germans wild. Can't wait to fly it in-game, watched a full documentary on it.

Realistically the mosquito should be easier to kill but one of, if not the fastest planes in the game since it was mostly made of wood
It's not always about the power of the weapon used but the skill of the person using it. Stay frosty BF5 warriors! ;)
The mosquito is a beast it may have 2 engines but it could defeat bf109s and fw190s easily because of its great armament and amazing speed however it did set on fire a lot
They really need to decrease the movement of the cannons on the AA so it aims much slower, but increase the damage it does. That way its still useful if you're a skilled gunner who has prepared to shoot, but easier for a skilled pilot to out maneuver some noob who spends the whole match shooting at anything that moves.

I had some practice the past 2 days and I am getting better though it is still super tough to deliver enaugh hits to kill someone
I think that you should only be able to repair your plane to 75 helath, and if you wanted to get a full 100 you would have to land at an airfield. Landing would also count as a resupply.
