I love how Nicca's enemies go in a perfect straight line for him to test new weaponry on them whereas my enemies do all kinds of shit to make the dogfight take the length of a chess game between two world champions
the thing is if nicca got killed a lot it'd be a boring fight to upload. Imagine if he uploaded every fight ? Needless to say only the good ones are uploaded and I'm not blaming him, just pointing that out. The most interesting stuff for the viewer happens when the streamer/player is absolutely dominating. That'd be possible with players of a less skill, like in one vid of Nicca doing 5+ bomb kills every dive and not getting a single plane on his 6... Also, teammates covering your ass also matter...
Been a while since I watched people play Battlefield on RUclips, last time probably were during the BF3/BF4 times, but I genuinely enjoy your commentary videos! Cool to see your passion for planes :)
The insignia on the wing is the R.A.F Roundel , and the white trails left by wingtips that you asked about in a previous video are contrails. The dumbfire rocket was never intended for use against aircraft, as if they did hit, the aircraft were basically too thinly armoured for the rocket to register the hit so they could pass straight through without exploding. They were used to great effectiveness against, Taanks and lightly armed vehicles, and weapon emplacements, and also things like the V1 launching sites.
1. The wings on a Spitfire are elliptical wings which makes for a good turning but very unstable aircraft (unstable as in you can spin out of control very quickly if untrained) 2.that Circle symbol is for the RAF and the commonwealth aircraft 3. What you doing with the rudder is called the yaw axis (With all those stuiped fact ik you think i would actually be good at this game but nope)
@@truslew8089 I believe that is not how it worked IRL, I think Spitfires could outturn BF 109s but BF 109s were faster and could retain energy longer. So the BF 109 was a Boom and Zoom aircraft while the Spitty was a turn fighter
Stationary AA is fine where it's at but I do believe that the 40mm on the Valentine AA need buffed... or they need to fix server issues because I watched like 9 of my rounds hit a 109 directly and I got a whopping 12 dmg...
2:30 The rudder/Yaw is really only used for minor adjustments and was never meant to be a primary turning tool. In an actual aircraft if you turn with only rudder you will turn rather quickly for a moment then reach this point where you are barely turning but are almost flying at a diagonal. When the rudder is released the aircraft kind of springs back to a position slightly turned from the original but mostly headed in the same direction.
No man. BF5 isn't very hard. I don't say I'm good because the controls are too casual for me. Yes he plays good, but the enemies he is facing make fatal mistakes every time. They make it too easy and every ace in real life would be offended. (And yes I know you don't mean like in a real life sense)... I just want to say a "ace" would rack up triple the amount of kills, which isnt even possible, because BF has this really anoying cap for plane spawns. And Niccaman himself makes a few mistakes but everybody does, espacialy with the horrible BF5 flight physics...
Those are Semi-Armour Piercing/High Explosive RP-3s. Rocket Propelled 3 inch rockets (with 60 lb, 6 inch heads containing 12lb of explosive).. Or just RP-3. Used for general purpose and tank busting until the 1960s.
Just to clarify.. Rockets are unguided "dumb-fire" weapons. Missiles can change trajectory and/ or adjust thrust. Both can be outfitted with timed, proximity or impact fuses
Y'know what would be nice? A gadget or an ability that calls in a friendly airstrike, but when activated friendly planes get this notification on their radar and they are the ones giving the airstrike. If no friendly planes respond, then a small artillery barrage can take place!
Turning with the rudder is indeed realistic, although you usually need to dip your wings a little in the direction you are turning. The technique is called "flat hatting", though I have no idea why.
Man I love the battlefield V theme. The music at the beginning is called "Pride and Honor" Btw Niccaman you'd call them rockets, because missiles can usually be guided, while rockets are unguided and propelled.
Actually the BF109 G-2 and the Spitfire MK VA have basically the same tree for dogfighters with the armored wings&fuselage + wing repair + better control surfaces and thats the best choice for me so far
All rockets are 'Dumb-fire' because Rockets, ALL Rockets are unguided. Missiles have a guidance system of some sort. That is the difference between Rockets and Missiles.
Controlling your plane using the rudder only is a yaw, and it's very much a thing. Look at any airplane going in for landing when there's a little side-wind and you'll see it there.
I know this vid is old but you asked if you could just turn with rudder. Technically yes but it disrupts the balance of the plane, in short it feels REALLY weird and almost makes the plane want to roll the opposite direction, but in a very subtle way. Essentially you use the rudder in turning IRL to adjust the aircraft equivalent of under and oversteer Source: beginner pilot, about 50 hours in the seat
You cant just turn using the rudder. There're secondary movement for each control surface. And the secondary movement for the rudder is Pitch (And roll). So if you tried using just the rudder in a plane. It would point up and to the left or right a little.
"the more powerful guns" you mentioned in previous videos are .303 machineguns, which were the initial armament of the spitifre when first introduced but were found to be woefully inadequate against anything more armoured than a canvas biplane. What the spitfire in this video has, are 20mm hispano's, which were introduced in an effort to give the spitfire more firepower, so these are (or should be) "the more powerful guns."
when you use the dumb fire rockets, shoot them at a plane when they present the whole top of the plane to you. that way you're presented the biggest target, and a bigger chance of hitting a rocket
A little tip from someone that has been playing plane for a long time. The bakgrunners are insane, so try coming in from a side angle and they wont be able to take you out. I see you struggle with this
Since you have difficulty with rockets just remember, a missile guides itself, a rocket is guided by its trajectory after launch, a bomb is just an explosive.
Niccaman I've been searching for videos in battlefield talking specifically about evasive tactics and ways to get planes off your tails and there aren't any videos out there talking about it. I am a very skilled plane pilot and I have a few ways of getting planes off but it would be nice to learn more because in battlefield the ttk for planes v planes seems very low and if you have someone on your tail you can't be as crazy as you could in BF1. 2:25 No it's not realistic, using your rudder only moves your plane into a sideslip, it's what you see when pilots land in strong side winds. You might be able to change your course a little, but not much.
Hi Niccaman, love watching your BF5 content, hopefully once day I can be as skilled as you in a plane! So I recently bought BF5 for PC and am having a hard time with flying. I'm unsure if its because I'm not using the right key bindings or not, but I would love to get some advice on how to better my gameplay. Whenever I fly them, I spin out of control and die. I see everybody praising this guy and describing him as the best pilot in Battlefield V, well, I would safely say I am on par with this guy, and so are many others, it's just one mistake almost all of you make that I've noticed. Here's a little tip for all of you pilots in Battlefield V, when you're in a turning dogfight with an enemy plane, instead of quarter rolling your aircraft (at around 90 degrees) and yanking as hard as you can on the stick, instead, roll to a 75 or 85 degree angle and pull on the stick as hard as you can, but at the same time, hit your rudder and yaw in the same direction you are turning, you'll notice that the extra little push from the rudder will make you turn faster than your opponent, fire your guns and try to get a quick burst into one of their wings or elevators, you will cripple them this way and then you can finish them off with ease. If you are turnfighting with more than one opponent, as soon as you cripple one opponent, do not intercept them and attempt to shoot them down, instead, get off of their six and turn in the opposite direction and hold that turn, this may confuse your second opponent and it will force them to turn with you, use the same tactic as before and then finish them both off. It's as simple as that. Hell, you can even take down Spitfires with the Junkers 87 if you know what you're doing.
I like how planes in this game require certain precision and skill
