This is a step by step breakdown on how to build a 4x5ft tufting rug frame. You can definitely DIY this thing if you don't want to go out and buy a tufting frame, but a good frame is very important when tufting rugs.
Materials:
Two: 4ft 2x4's
Two: 5ft 2x4's
Four: 2ft 2x4's
Four: 1ft 2x4's
8x3" screws, # 8x2" Screws, Hammer, Drill, Brackets, drill bits.

Yeah if you pop the mounting nails out of the nail strips and replace with screws they're easier to change or move later. Good vids, keep up the good work my man!

How do you make or where can buy the tack stripes from?
you can buy tac strips from most hardware stores like Home depot or Lowes
the way to make your own (which in my opinion is a little more dangerous) by getting a thin piece of would that matches the length of your main board piece and drive half inch nails through it and ever ten inches drive a nail in the opposite direction so that you can nail it to you main board
