I've had opposite experience, I have 2 sorcs and mage main pawn and they shred... Meteora and maelstrom going off left and right while I confuse and bewilder the enemies lol. Not to mention making BANK with a specific incense weapon ...

You need pawns to have knowledge to play trickster, it's gonna get stronger as people play more.
Probably didn’t know this but just picking the pawns personality changes there gameplay

Formless Feint is broken literally ! you can tune it on and walk in front of enemy with so much confidence and no one hit will be able to get to it’s my favorite!
Use it with blades of Pyre and you'll be thanking me 😅 just make sure to proc feint first

If this was considered advance than my Thief must be OP.I have a much stronger build and with better Skills used.For example you don’t Need Shadow Cloak and Smoke Shroud at the same time.Thats a waste of a skill slot.Use one skill and put a A.O.E damaging skill in the other slot.Thief mastery skill is like ultra instinct so it’s no need to hide anymore because enemies can’t hit you when your mastery is activated and it stays activated as long as you have stamina on your stamina bar.
If you want you have 2 A.O.E skills slotted for bigger bosses like dragons.I recommend Skull splitter,2 A.O.E skills,And a mastery skill.

I love using smokescreen/smoke shroud, but as a mass mob assasinating too. Drop a smokescreen in the middle of a group of monsters and literally Twin Fang everything. Enemies can't detect you while in the smoke, which procs the critical assassination animation almost immediately. Doing this just really reminded me on how I played in Ghost of Tsushima.
Every class but thief I felt like I was playing in slow motion
Seriously though. I feel like the only other classes I can play and really enjoy are mystic spearhand (also invincible) and magick archer (I like seeing the arrows track)

The entire game is designed to be slow with heavy movements and weapons. The thief is designed to be the fastest class in the game. Thats its major perk. Every other class has its own major playstyle perk like this. It does not mean the other classes are slow.
I thought it was me lol I haven't and won't play it but watching people play this game I wonder how the hell can people enjoy this, it's taking 4 seconds to swing a great sword and it seems clunky as hell
Ensnare, Powder, Pilfer, and Skull / Draw for my set. Pilfer is just too useful, can get you gear, can get you healing items, can get you fruit to sell in the desert, materials galore. Ensnare is just firmly locked in its slot, it allows for easy pilfers, if you use at the right time it can pull a big boy down, if you use it on a minotaur thats about to charge at one of your pawns you will lock him in place. Powder is very important for a lot of reasons, if you go solo you need it for elemental damage early and midgame, otherwise slimes are damn near invincible. It can prevent griffons from running away, it knocks them out of the air seemingly every time, and potentially burns their wings. Its an amazing aoe tool as well. The last slot is just for damage, Draw if I want to climb and stab, Skull if I want to be a vertical beyblade.
Concussive Leap is such a slap in the face for people that played the first game. They got rid of double jump for that shitty wall hop and put in concussive leap to TAKE UP A SLOT for a 100x worse version of the mages Levitate which doesn't even need a slot at all. Smokescreen just seems useless, unless it lets you pilfer enemies it seems like a waste of a slot.
Also I found some electric daggers somewhere, can't remember where though. I think it was near the ancient battlefield, but it was a while back so could be wrong. Either in a cave near the massive slope with the rock lizards, or I had to load a catapult and fire it three times to clear some rocks off it. Like I said been a while so not sure.
Smokescreen has been pretty useful for me so far, if you throw it in small mobs it makes all twin fangs attacks into the special animation that does hella damage. So good for small mobs but not really useful for boss monsters
I have foubd Blades of pyre to be a far more effective aoe and much more spammable. It requires you to also run formless feint but as its the best ability in the game thats hardly a sacrifice. For my other 2 skills i go with concussive leap cause yeah the double jump is too good to ignore even if it takes a slot, and then for the final skill i switch between ensnare and skullcrusher. 99% of the time i keep ensnare just cause i hate those harpies and hawks but skullcrusher can be useful in some enemies with hard to get to weak spots (like chimera in second phase and golems in final phase).
@@conradmeyer6339 i used to be very fond of smomescreen early on but eventually you reach abpoint where you sneeze on the small mobs and they die anyway. I usually run in, hit em with a blades of pyre explosion and keep moving. its very rare that a small mob survives it.
Oh how far the thief has come. From being trash at combat in d&d, to becoming a strong combat class in most modern rpgs and even the most recent d&d ruleset lol. Gotta love it

Nice video. The only topic I'm missing in this is how you can utilize your skills to get to unreachable places.
Staff levitate, theif wall jump with or without concussive blast pawns using launchboard grabbing harpies and using them to fly. There's alot of options, I've used the fighters cloud ward strike a few times to get an extra bump in height
Finally, someone that knows enough about the game to teach others about combos. I dont need beginner tutorial videos on dd2, Im ready for the good stuff, which is what this video provides
Peoblem with the combo builds is that they tend to focus on just that. I cant imagine playing Thief without the mobility of Concussive Leap. Everytime i changed vocations and had to run around to climb somewhere i just kept thinking "if i was a thief id just jump up there ffs. If i was a thief i could make this jump across".
Ikr, imagine using using your own brain and curiosity to discover things when you can just watch a guide on a already braindead op vocation 🤭

There's a ring I found that does more damage when attacking from behind. Will test it out
FYI dash with sheathed weapon is faster than unsheath so maybe its better to compare the movement tech with that too for out of combat situation

honestly thief is the most OP class solely because of Dousing Spikes, idk why but this dagger has absurd stagger value and damage too, and you can get it so early.
I think it Should be mentioned that if you Concussive step and then Instantly hit Helm Splitter it basically allows you to hover and carries you forward (Its a double jump) Its so OP for exploring the world and treasure hunting on a first playthrough. Probably the best mobility on any class minus being able to fly as a mage
Here's an even faster movement tech combo, that uses a bit of stamina but not alot. Cutting wind -> Dodge forward -> cutting wind repeat over and over. Basically sprint across the entire map only occasionally stopping to refill stamina
Thief literally can get infinite uptime on formless feint if you dragonforge the skill to halve it's stamina cost and have the reduced stamina cost for all weapon skills from the warfarer. Or if you halve the stamina for the pyres skill you can spam it like 10x ALONG with formless feint on until your stamina runs out.
They stoled ultra instinct from dragon ball and renamed it to formless feint.
Using warfarer as a thief / sorcerer. Super fun!
I dunno man. Im rolling Blades of Pyre, Implicate, Formless Feint and Concussive Leap and having a blast. Crazy mobility, effective vs flying enemies and insane raw dmg.
Just got the game today. Thief wasnt a characrer I was thinking of using. Wanted Mage or the hybrid vocation of Mystic Spearhand.
For short enemies jump first and press the skull splitter skill as you’re about to hit the ground 10:38
I do full explosion thief, flames of the pyre (you can spam dodge backwards or to the side of explosion to take no damag.)powder charge, concussion step, skull splitter. I love watching shit blow up with all the explosives and spamming flames of pyre.

I prefer concussive blast, draw quarter, formless feint, skullspllitter.
Skullsplitter damage is height based and the comvo is similar to your stylistic assassin minus powderblast. Concussive+skull to deal vs large and air then draw quarter once mounted to a weakspot. Formless feint for survivability.
My pawn and I have a 2 thief setup but she has implicate instead of concussive blast. It's pretty fun when we both climb the bosses and shank them with draw quarter. Other party member is mage and sorc with spell storage + meteor. I'm killing wyrms in like 1 min with this that they don't even get back up once knocked down.
Thief seems the most fun build , I haven’t played the game but I would go with the thief

Ive been having fun as a "strider." Im using warfarer with bow and daggers and i use incendiary shot which coats targets in oil, and then bust out the daggers and use the enkindling blades to light them up. Its surprsingly strong, but the only real downside is that, y'know, rain exists.

For augments I went-
Dominance- knock down power
Sagicty- magicka
Verve-- strength
Endurance- stamina
Lethality- extra damage to weak points
Exaltation- stamina recovery
I quite enjoy it so far

Any tips for a Wayfarer/Warfarer build that does Mystic Spearhand/ Magic Archer/ and (Thief or Archer)?

concussive blast into skullsplitter will let you reach areas you couldn't climb before.
just one thing to point out, sprinting with weapons sheathed is faster then sprinting with weapons out, so the comparison isn’t quite accurate. still a cool tech tho
You are Sleeping on Smoke Shroud as its one of the most OP CC skillz in Game.
It works on Bosses and trash, you can cast it while climbing and holding them down and Stuns anything entering the cloud for 3-5 secs depending on upgrade.
You get to unload Twin Fangs for Ubber Kills while enemies are stunned.
Best way to stop Rampaging Bosses and mobs, Smoke Shroud.
smoke work great just run on battle smoke start press heavy attac (twin) if u have around 600-700 phis power u one shot all regular mobs includes heavy bandits\skeletons and stone lizards.
btw this work in jump and bosses staggers too (need 2\3 bomb and many of bosess start just chill and wait)
the ensnare + powder charge combo is fun as fuck lol

all those skills are cool, but there is ultimate skill for killing small mobs - smoke bombe + triangle. just smoke everyone and press(hold) triangle(stron attack) you 1hitKO almost everything, its stupid OP. for bigger foes helm splitter is very good.
you dont need stealth - just run into group of enemies, use smoke screen and press strong attack. smoke screen makes enemies vonurable to back stabs

Can I ask a silly question? How do you activate carve? Is it the heavy attack?
Well simple combo: Evasive ultimate skill + Spam Finish + Support Mage that activates infinit stamina
Here you go you have the best rogue build, now you can use what ever else you want.
The class is totally busted right now, especially cause of this combo as the dodge ability dodge everything: spells, attacks, grabs...
Small downside Rogue can struggle in some situations but it happens 1% of the time mostly vs flying ennemies that are too high (grab ability resolve those issue 95% of the time except when ennemy is bugged and fly in circle)
Only 2 class can compete: Magic Archer (only for his ultimate ability that can one shot most bosses of the game, never struggles vs any content of the game) & Sorcere cause of Meteor ultimate (can struggle in some situation)

Best build jus that phase ability plus the ignite explosion ability you get from the hidden village
Automatically dodge and the ability is a self damaging explosion but since you have the automatic dodge you don’t take damage.
One shots almost all regular mobs big damage to bosses
Formless feint*
Why use ignited blades when you can pop formless feint... and use blades of the pyre, for no self burn and chunky AOE damage and stagger?

Two thief's, mage and sorcerer is OP.
I tried switching from thief to archer at like level 22 and I don't know if other vocations always feel weak at level one but I was doing so little damage I switched back almost immediately.
archer is one of the highest utility damage vocations. p much everything feels weak at level one except thief and magick archer bc those and esp thief have always been itsuno's babies

And dang i started as a fighter.. then warrior.. warrior sucked going from fighter to that until it was close to maxed out and i could chain swings together and have a block ability and then now.. at level 36 i finally starter thief. Woooow. Really missed out. The thief is ridiculous. Minus getting staggered a little more it tears through dang near anyone and its nice having the warrior and fighter augments active after switching. When i activated it to use for the first time, i had already unlocked it earlier, i was in battal at the palace area. As i had previously unlocked it, my equipment was stored at the inn. So i walked out, past the bar, butt naked with 2 low level daggers and half my life gone. This is when a cut scene ensued automatically and a man threatened me to take all of my gear and gold if they can beat my arse. Cut scene ends, i get hit twice and die. I screamed F@!$!!!!! WTF!!!!!?? Thankfully my life filled up and a random mercenary had my back and gave me a chance to fight again. Reminded me of the time i accidentally hit a bridge rope with my huge broadsword and sent all 3 of my pawns into the river at night while 4 harpies and 5 goblins swarmed me with no stamina left. Needless to say, i fell fast asleep and was beat to death right after with no one to revive me. This game can be super fugged at times but so much fun. Love it. Thanks for the thief video!

Where is immolation?

Yep a skill you get around 5 or 6 I think, any stunned or pinned creature can be stolen from. I got a wakestone shard once and ferrystones a few times, no gear yet though.
This is why I don’t play thief. It’s just too good that it makes the game bad. So I handicap myself by going warfarer with trickster main and other vocations like warrior archer or fighter as a sub mostly just one skill. My pawns are never sorcerers or rarely thief to farm plunder and to increase difficulty level. So it’s mostly pawn mage without attack skills and a reasonably balanced archer and a warrior or fighter with launch board as one of the skill. This keeps the enemies reasonably dangerous. I have reached level 80 and yet to enter the unmoored lands for the real ending. I’m in no hurry 😅
So you can either run like a normal person or spin attack run and be faster but look like a jackass
