    Loved your mom, she has a good soul! Can mustard be used for this recipe? Do the jars need to be refrigerated and if not, what is the ambient shelf life of this pickle? Many thanks

      Hi Harbinder! Truth be told, since the day this video was made, I have never made this pickle. I have been thinking about doing this. We did make sure the jars were sterilized by immersing in boiling water. We did refrigerate the pickle - I know many don't, but we didn't want to take the risk. I also consumed it so fast, it wouldn't have mattered. Thank you for reminding me, Mom is long gone, and I have to make this myself again.

    First off, I loved the way that you and your Mum interacted together. Very funny indeed. My Mum taught me how to cook. And very good at it she was too. Her forte was traditional British, (roasts, steamed puddings etc). Would you use another oil (Mustard or olive oil) for this?) Also, how long does it keep for in the refrigerator please? Thanks.

      Thank you so much Russ!!!! I wish she was alive to do more videos, she was really so good! I usually just use regular Canola Oil, I haven't experimented with Olive Oil and Mustard would be too strong. It should keep for at least 6 months ... but you will likely finish it sooner :) Thanks for sharing about your mom - I'm sure she was amazing.

    Looks divine - another memory of my mum making it. Sorry to hear about your mums passing. This is definitely another recipe for me to try out - I live in Ottawa and if we don't make it at home, we have no good Indian restaurants where we can get these dishes.

      Hello dear Carmeline - this is my most precious video of my super camera shy Mom who sadly passed away in 2016. I haven't brought myself to make this pickle myself, but maybe I should. It will keep for months but it doesn't last long in my fridge either! Stay safe!

    Love your recipes dear, so well explained. Hv made prawn balchao but I liked the way u cooked the prawns and ground the masala with the stock prelude it takes a lot of vinegar to bring if using whole chillies. Loads of love to ur mom for sharing her recipes thanks

    Don't we have to put salt and tumeric marinate for 20 minutes then fry the prawns (not boil them with chillies) will definitely try this method as there's less oil used 👍🏻 thanks for sharing your Mum's recipe 😘

      Usually people say you can leave it out, but I always prefer to keep it in the fridge.

    Mam really super ... Going to try this before starting the preparation I want to clarify one doubt ... How did u make that prawn stock water... Is that boiled prawn stock mam .. can u pls make me clear it's really great

    Hi mam ...prawn pickle was out of the world...many times I hv done this pickle bcs of extreme taste of ur receipe I m having doubt how long can we preserve it mam since we adding stock water...is this safe to add water in this preparation mam...ll it stay for a month mam or we need to refrigerate

    After it's made and needs to rest for a couple of days has it to be stored in room temperature or in the fridge?

      I would store it in the fridge ... even if you don't need too, I'm extra careful with shrimp
