  • Vintage lenses are always fun and a good value. The Nikkor H 300mm f4.5 is a decent performer and a lot of fun if you want a long lens. On my Olympus EM5 MkII Micro Four Thirds camera it is equivalent to a 600mm lens and that's pretty long! Photography with vintage lenses is something to look into especially if you are shooting a mirrorless digital camera.

Thank you, Don. The photos looked very nice. Those vintage lens certainly have a different look to digital lenses; but I mean that in a positive way. From your images, there is a definite, romantic image quality to the image. I can now see why some say that digital lenses, although perfect, have an over-sharpened look. Thank you. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Many like the look of vintage lenses for certain applications. I believe they definitely have their place alongside digital lenses.

Very nice, Don. With respect to contrast and saturation, you can always push that in post (as you know). Very cool lens. Back in the film days, I was a Nikon shooter so this is especially interesting for me.

I have a Nikon AFS F4, I think I will give it a try on my Olympus. Just have to shut off autofocus and give it a whirl. Enjoy your videos.

Nice vid Don. I just received this lens for my Nikon F4. However I do have an Olympus E-30 digital camera with original 4/3 (not micro 4/3). My question is there an adapter available for the Nikon lens to adapt to my original 4/3 Olympus camera? Thanks!

Thanks for watching! I do not know if an adapter is available for the E-30. A search on ebay would probably answer the question.

Hi what quick release plate are you using with this lens?

I use generic Arca Swiss type quick release plates and clamps.

@@dongummphotography I thought so, just ordered one of these lens, I have slowly been collecting F mount Nikkors and the newer Voigtlanders for the last four years with the scalloped focus rings, I love them so much. This is the last lens I want.
      Thanks.

I have the exact same lens in near mint condition I picked up off eBay last year for less than $100. It's a beauty. I haven't tried it out yet. I wish you had mentioned what aperture you made your shots at. Thank's for the video.
