Nah the reason is because Tana doesn’t shut the hell up. She goes off on a rampage rant about 20 different things and doesn’t let Michael address anything. At the end of the day, Tana didn’t have to deal with shit. What did she lose? A few subscribers? Michael was legitimately financially f*cked. Tana inherently puts the blame on everyone else, her only ounce of accountability came from “It’s my convention it’s my fault” blah blah and then the next 5 minutes she’ll shift it once again onto Michael

Thank you 💯 I understand people see his distant past as very problematic, but cmon let’s not pretend like every other content creator hasn’t done/said anything problematic either (i.e. Tana’s N Word controversy). It’s honestly sad that he was vilified to the extent to where he felt the need to leave LA, cease making videos, and entirely lacked support from “friends” in return for what he did for them at their low points; he helped humanize these creators. To those who say he shouldn’t have helped “problematic people”, it doesn’t matter because they deserve to either defend or show remorse during all of their cancellations. We can’t expect someone to grow if we don’t give them the chance to do show growth through self-acknowledging their mistakes. Cancelling someone forever despite all of the good they brought to the world does nobody good; Shane understood and acted this moral obligation. It’s a shame the help he needed was never reciprocated by any creator to the same extent, no creator went out of their way to make a multi-part documentary so fans could see Shane in a humanized and remorseful light by a non-biased 3rd party.

Here we are 4 years later- looking back on this whole situation it was just a massive failure from the start. But I will say Michael is the ring leader here. Tana was just a pawn in a lot of ways. She is not blameless in the situation but she really did have the best of intentions.
I agree a bit. Yes, it was largely Michael's fault. He conducted the whole thing and refused to acknowledge his part. However Tana is just as much to blame as Tana con only happened because of Vidcon and her treatment. Tana's only fault (other than revenge) was trusting Michael and his company with little results to show for it.

Even though Shane has done and said things that were completely NOT okay, none of the people that he’s helped has bothered to be there for him and stand by his side. Its okay to tell your friends when they are wrong and still be supportive. That is exactly what he did in this video with Tana, but he still made sure to guide her into a better direction. He had to figure out how to do that himself, and for him to have friends that he helped and no one speak out for him and do the same, makes them very fake and awful people.

Dominique YEA, technically micheal is slandering the Marriott by saying he wants to sue them - because he even has a signed contract with then saying no more than 1000. The Marriott could sue them.

The Marriott lies about their event capacity on their own website. Google "Anaheim Marriott Capacity" if you don't believe it.
K Linda I wouldn’t call it a “lie” until I read the contract which stated which ballrooms they were renting or the exact dimensions of the space they paid to occupy. You also have to take into consideration that they had a stage set up which took up some of the square footage which I assume would influence the max capacity in some way.
Kay Hope Well of course. An experienced event planner wouldn’t sign a contract that stated max capacity was 1200 but accept a verbal capacity of quadruple that from a hotel employee (if that’s true). Michael is fundamentally incompetent and inexperienced but Tana should’ve solicited the services of someone with verifiable experience and years in this business not a 20 year old who’s thrown a few meet ups for youtubers.

Elicia Ward true I feel like Editing is the most important thing on making a video, and people don’t realize that. Yeah what they’re talking about is good but if the editing isn’t point it might not be as good so Thanks to Shane for editing so nicely.
Seriously I just commented the same thing. It’s incredible. It helped the story make sense and transition smoothly. It wouldn’t have been the same if it hadn’t been edited so well. I’m honestly kind of amazed. There was soooo much footage and he seamed it...seamlessly. I’m not sure if it’s just Shane or whoever else helps him but I’m so impressed and thankful. Now we know what happened and it took a ton of work to make that happen.

Yes, Thank you. This really just needs to go to court to get all of this out and reviewed by people who have no bias over the situation. Until then, it's he said/she said (literally). Even if footage is released, it's gonna be what they want it to be, cut and edited to show who's at fault from either side. Let's see where all the money went and where it come from in legal documents, etc.

Yeah lol I don't even know Tana and I've never seen even one of her videos, but as soon as I started watching part one of this documentary, I was hooked. The music, cinematography and editing of this documentary are amazing. Shane and whoever helped him make this video should really get into doing crime documentaries, or any documentary, I would watch it!!

The whole problem with this is that Tana did Tanacon out of spite she wanted to get back at VidCon for what they did to her and a lot of people agreed with her on this and it quickly turned into something positive that people agreed with to shit something hectic. Yes Tana deserves to be held responsible but she is a kid she can’t handle that type of responsibility she should off small and work up to it and that Michael guy clearly was more pressed about losing money and his career that the people who got hurt both needs to be held responsible but Tana was more genuine than Michael was.
