It's understandable if the series ends one way... Or gets the reboot like Horizons would where we get new artists changing it up. But these volumes will always remain special to me
My counter to this is that the anime had the same protagonist throughout. The manga changes protagonist each arc. Each arc is in of itself a mini-reboot. It doesn’t need to be a full blown reboot, it just needs to be the next chapter. If they just bring in a new writer and set them loose on a brand new chapter with brand new characters I doubt anyone would bat an eyelid.

And the Horizons is clearly still in the same worldview as Ash anime (do the same thing like Pokespe), I don't know why some people insist on denying this.
It is wild to me that the entire series has had the same writer throughout, and that it has always only ever been that one guy. It's effectively a two man show. No wonder they are getting burnt out.
One thing this series does have as an advantage over others, and even the anime, is the constant cast rotation. Each arc is effectively a soft reboot, so it would lend itself well to a new writer (or writers) slotting in without clashing with what has already been established. They would effectively start from scratch with the new arc, be able to put their own spin on new characters and not have to worry about the established characters until they’ve really got the hang of how the series works. It doesn’t need to end, and it doesn’t need a full blown reboot. We've already had a seamless artist change, why not a writer?
I'm not advocating for the current writer to just stop and leave a new writer on their own, I would suggest a transition period where the new writer co-writes or is mentored whilst they are slowly phased into full creative control….. if this needs to happen at all. This feels like it’s not going to happen anytime soon.

The Pokemon Adventures Manga was the storyline and characterization we never got in the games for the earlier generations. But nowadays, the games have the graphical fidelity (almost) and structure to carry those on their own. At this point, it's fine for the Adventures Manga to ride off into the sunset. But I do think it needs to wrap up older storylines from previous generations. I'm surprised we never got a Rainbow Rocket storyline fulfilling Giovanni's villain arc which would have been a golden opportunity to unite the dex holders. Also huge missed opportunity with BDSP/Legends Arceus. The latter generations (especially Gens 5-9) feel quite disconnected from the weaving plot threads of the first 4 Generations (+remakes).
First off, Boruto and Super as examples when their latest arcs and developments are...less than ideal isn't the best
Second, I don't blame them for being burnt out, especially in terms of just the manga industry, even for monthly creators is still pretty hectic. I do hope for more assistants, as along with their help, I feel as though if they work with them long enough, they can take over the series when Kusaka or Yamamoto leave or take a step back.
Adventures is quite literally the first manga I read, so it's sad to think about this possibility, since I think Kusaka's writing definitely brings out the best MC personalities as well as heightening elements from the games. Either way, if it's their own choice to step back from Pokemon, I won't blame them

there are a few things that you should have looked into
1. Kusaka-sensei and Yamamoto-sensei get the games before release so that they can familiarize themselves with the regions, new pokemon and game plot.
2. They are already working on scarlet and violet.
3. You should do some research on Japanese working culture. Japanese don't easily quit their jobs. Look at Hayaho Miyazaki. His retirement was announced so often and he just keeps coming back. Because in Japan you are considered part of the "family" that is the company. So whatever small you may decide could heavily influence the company. That's why Japanese hardly take a vacation day and instead use them for sick leave.
4. their twitter accounts also don't hint any possibility for a retirement. I they were planning to make SV the final arc. They would have done it already.
While I do think the quality of the story is getting lower, (my opinion) I do not see an end. They might take a slower pace or assistents but Pokespe will continue to a long time.

I honestly wouldn't want to see it come to an end yet, but I understand things are difficult with our creators growing age, the time constraints and the fact that Pokemon's been pumping out new games every year, as much as I hate to say it, but this may be signalling the end.
However, I want to be optimistic and like how Toryama found his successor in Toyotaro, The Adventures duo could find a helping hand, there are many artists out there hoping to make a name for themselves, if Yamamoto reaches out for help, I'm sure he may find it and when he's ready to retire he'll have someone who can take his place, same goes to Kusaka.
I love this duo for their work, but if it's difficult they should find some help or pass the torch, Adventures may not be the same without them spearheading the story, but it'll always have a place in my heart.
I think it would be really cool if Pokespe ended with an adaptation of Pokemon Masters. I know that game isn’t canon to the mainline games, but it would be a fun way to bring all of the previous characters together and give them a grand send-off. They could even stick Rainbow Rocket in there so that all of the villains could have their own endings as well.
That would be pretty cool actually

At the end we need an arc seeing everyone what they became as an adult
Yamamoto once said he would continue drawing Pokespe until he was in his seventies (or until volume seventies? I kind of forgot). Anyway Yamamoto still seems to be enthusiastic, and although Kusaka has not used social platforms for a long time, we can still feel his enthusiasm for Pokemon from the author's talk in recent volumes.
Sadly, with how impatient pokémon has been in their releases & amount of games, I could see the adventures manga chapters becoming even shorter or even canceling altogether. I don’t want this to happen, but the constant unending grind of the franchise makes products & stories like these harder to do.
That and the importance/relevance of the Manga has dwindled over the years.
@@intergalactic92 sadly yeah. Before the manga gave you a story similar to the games yet also very different in many ways; and when remakes were made they got to do almost fully original stories.
However, the last few chapters of the manga no only skip many games but feel too similar to the story already seen in the games & other related media.
Lets go pikachu and eevee probably didn’t have enough new content to make a chapter out of. All we really got was meltan. As for Bdsp they could’ve just had the legends arceus content in present day but even then, arceus was already featured heavily in the hgss arc
Another example of a manga creator stepping back is Kazuki Takahashi of Yu-Gi-Oh. After the original series wrapped up, he continued to help out on spinoffs up until his death. I think Pokémon Adventures is due for a fresh start, Kusaka and Yamamoto have earned a rest after all these years.

I would have loved an Arceus arc. The Sinnoh trio go back in time, Diamond and Platinum via Arcues so Pearl has to follow usng a more technological method. I culd even see their teams being the befriending some of the nobles.

The manga was the only thing that gave a aura of "maturity" to the Pokemon franchise, but since Pokemon Sun and Moon the manga have being just being plain bad, I guess the marketing strategy of TPC finally got to the Pokemon Adventure manga aswell 😕
Im gonna be honest, the title is kinda click bait… I appreciate the content itself and the research done, but the title is misleading in my opinion.

It is a massive shame that they never made a Pokemon Legends Arceus chapter.
For me, I do not think that the series will end soon, because unlike some ongoing anime, such as One Piece, this manga does not have a single
interconnected story, but rather a group of stories located in the same world
and it seems to me that in the future we will get a new artist and some new assistants, as for the original author I think he will continue writing, but this time with people helping him write
but despite this behavior, it does not rule out the possibility that the series will actually end
As someone who’s been collecting since the US release in 2009, and owning quite literally every volume ever since then (125+)
I honestly do hope the series ends
And honestly i feel like gen 10 is a good stopping point if they can, + a legends volume or 2 if they can do it, would allow for a nice round out for the series honestly
Given that the new games kind of exist, and are what they are… It’d be cool to see them do something like the anime did, and just completely shift protagonists off of the “main characters” and just focus on random side characters and their own pokemon adventures. Keep the world they’ve built, introduce new the regions as needed, but just, not have it be about the game characters anymore.

It is one of my favorite elements of the franchise, but if it's not possible a big last crossover with all the dexholders as a goodbye would be good

I really don't want pokémon adventures to end it was 1 of my first mangas I love it and I don't want to see it end unless we have an ending like a pokédex holder reunion so we get to see all characters 1 last time I really hope they bring in a new writer and artist so the Manga doesn't end farewell pokémon adventures
I havnt read the manga since black and white 2. To see them not bring any of the other characters in the story anymore would be interesting but obviously keep them still in the same world

The old anime? Pretty sure, the new anime has still potential with its own story progressing slowly but developing the characters really well. I think Horizons has the same vibe of Adventures, not following the same path but going oh his own to feel the world we are in much better.

i honestly thought it was gonna end when we got ultra sun and ultra moon just because they brought all the past villains to that game. would've been like avengers end game with all the dex holders showing up too. I'm surprised they decided to continue on to sword and shield despite very little to no references to events from the other regions

To be honest, I've actually dropped the manga and the games altogether. Aside from Legends Arceus, I've been pretty disappointed with Pokémon in recent years.
When it comes to the manga, I would've loved to see an adaptation of Let's Go and read the adventures of Chase and Trace, instead of fans treating them as costume swaps for Red and Green. And maybe Yellow would change her name to Elaine.
It would've also been nice to see an adaptation of the Rainbow Rocket arc from Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Seeing the Dex Holders come together one last time to face Team Rainbow Rocket.
Legends Arceus would've been an awesome adaptation! And it would've been interesting to see how Pearl would fit into the story seeing as his game counterpart/ancestor didn't appear in the game. Hell, maybe Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl would've tied directly into Legends Arceus.
But if the end is coming sooner than later, I can except that. Especially considering all the work and overtime the staff have put in.
Things that Undermine Let's Go and Legends Arceus being turned too manga stories
Red in Let's go if different from the Red we play as in The original story that the Manga started with
And Legends Arceus was a in the past game

Well someone beat me to it about the Japanese culture but another thing that is indeed a fact is that let's go were indeed main line games just like with Legends Arceus as TPC have said it multiple times. I think even if the author and illustrator are not around as much if at all as long as pokemon continues i can see pokemon adventures too maybe with new young people that are trusted.
