  • Cajun music (French: Musique cadienne), is an emblematic music of Louisiana played by the Cajuns, and is rooted in the ballads of the French-speaking Acadians of Canada. Cajun music is often mentioned in tandem with the Creole-based zydeco music. Both are from southwest Louisiana and share French and African origins.

So joyous and celebratory. Happy and uplifting tunes. Accordion, fiddle, banjo, guitar, upright bass, trombone, harmonica, snare drum, tuba... happy, happy, happy. I'm here listening to Conan O'brien's podcast saying he got his band for the show based on them playing a Cajun style tune. It fits his playful personality. I didn't know what Cajun was and typed it into youtube and this came up. Awesome! It's like a celebration of the simple pleasures in life but in a positive way. Food, drink, dance, song, friendship, musical joy. There's not a hint of angst or darkness in it at all. Great for the soul.
