Yeah, if Capcom really understood that Mega Man was an important IP, then why have they released five Legacy Collections but NONE of them in Europe and Australia. The only Mega Man game Capcom have released in PAL territories in the last ten years has been Mega Man 11. Capcom hadn't been shy with global releases during PS1, PS2 and DS days but despite gamers voting with their wallets in favour of legacy collections, anyone who isn't Asian or American gets shafted like it's 1989.

With how 3 ended, I can't see them continuing the series.
I think the Starforce collection would be more likely to come to pass than X9 because Capcom is on re-release mode with Ace Attourney as the biggest example (every single game of Ace Attourney has been re-released on the Switch for reference), but Street Fighter (and MvC to some extent with that arcade collection) and Resident Evil are other examples. So, another collection wouldn't be out of the cards for them. I do agree that a Megaman 12 would be more likely though 👍

I’d play X9 done with a similar graphic style as MM11. Sometimes that 2.5D style is actually done right, and MM11 is a great example. They wouldn’t have to stress about finding pixel artists lol
IMO, from a gameplay standpoint, Ratchet & Clank is exactly what Mega Man should have looked and felt like in the PlayStation era. Far as a new game/series, forget about all these other iterations. Give X and Zero a proper, epic adventure in an open world.
I wish X9 would feature some "grounded 3D" levels like Ratchet and Clank. I really think the X series could work well in 3D, at least partially (have some entirely 2D levels for the older audience). Just because X7 was handled terribly doesn't mean that the whole concept doesn't work. Hell, the first cars were so bad that many cities banned them, and now the whole planet uses cars. What would be hard is convincing the, dare I say, nostalgia-blinded luddites who want the series to remain technologically stagnant because "muh childhood retro gaem!!!!!", to try out something new.

Tooterp, I would love a co-op, racing Mega Man mix. And a Mega Man 99 similar to the challenges in legacy collection but with more segments added for variety would be great. Would be cool if after every few minutes enemies would deal more damage or game would increase the difficulty in other ways.
I'd love to see a new X game. If there was a way to make the game longer, like 16 master bots, that would be awesome. And make it 16 bit. And no tutorials.
I would have liked a conclusion to X8's cliffhanger and another post-Sigma MMX game. I wouldn't want the final boss of X8 to be the antagonist of 8 games like Sigma was, but to have him as one or two as the world of the new generation reploids builds up before moving to a new threat would be good.
I really like the idea of Rockman Taisen, I think that would be good for the franchise, a new project too really help challenge and innovate the series forward
For an ultimate legacy collection, I want 8 bit versions of 7, 8, & Bass, and & Bass 2, along with 1-10 with the Bass games in the Mega Man 11 engine (with obviously 11’s amazing voice acting compared to 8’s tackiness). And yes, the real reason why Mega Man is hard to make today is the modern video game market often wants online mode out of big name companies, which is easy for Street Fighter but not Mega Man. The racing mode of Mighty Number 9 possibly scared Capcom from doing Online for new Mega Man games (only old games get them like the last 2 Legacy collections Zero/ZX and Battle Network), but the meeting is proof they are probably ready to jump back in.

My idea for a new Megaman Game: Megaman Beat'em up: The City of Mavericks 😅 Just say Dr Wily started mass Producing Customizable Robot masters and we as players can choose to side with Wily/Sigma or Hologram Light. The twist, make it 2D in a huge spawling city like River City Ransom. Each Boss owns their own territory. That or making a custom Robot Master with Fire and Ice attacks. Megaman already feels like a revenge story so I think it would work. Get the Protomen on the Soundtrack and I'm sold.

I think the online additions to classic Mega Man sounds great! I love killing time by loading up an old Mega Man game and racing through the 8 robot masters, having actual other players to race against would make that even better!
I don’t see a GB mega man collection happening anytime soon, as they were dropped by Nintendo in the Gameboy online. It would be a poor decision to do that, unless you’re solely focusing on PlayStation or Xbox.
You know when it comes to racing, in Zero 2 there were a few PvP minigames Capcom ditched those from the Zero Legacy collection and gave us Z chaser, now you can race someone doing couch co op but idk ehy they didn't make it to where you could race people worldwide instead of trying to race their ghost and beat their time 😢
What if they allowed the player to use weapons from other games? For example being able to use Black hole bomb in Mega Man 2, or Rush in Mega Man 1, or going Easy Mode by letting players use Metal Discs in 9? I know it would be pretty unbalanced & probably game-breaking but I feel like it would be a lot of fun.
If they want to sell 60$ games rather than 40$ games, Megaman Legends is more price structured for a 60$ length game. (And that would make DLC with new areas more in line with "mainline gaming".) And since Megaman Legends was so long ago, they could easily get away with a cheaper art style... Still don't think it will happen, but I feel like having Megaman in longer form content would be a way to make the games bring in more profit. (I suspect Megaman 11 did not get a sequel because it had a cost to profit ration too low at the time, but the legacy collections sell enough to entice them to try something "different but the same" instead of just a sequel.)

I didn't like (but could live with) Power-Up's art style, but just about everything else the game did was what I'd been wanting for *years:* 1) Playable Robot Masters 2) Even _more_ playable bonus characters. 3) Level Editor Maverick Hunter X didn't go _that_ far, but playable Vile was nice. *However, * I am all for an X series reboot that _streamlines_ the X through X8 storyline, including the Xtreme spinoff titles. Let characters show up way sooner, so when their betrayals, or deaths, or just leadership (everyone wave at Signas! ✋) suddenly matter! *Yes, I brought up the Xtreme games. The Rockman World games matter as well.* I'd really love a bonus mode that would remix the individual stages into a "new" Mega Man game. Not _totally_ random (unless they could do it well). Just any Robot Master Stages (Maverick Stages for X) some fortress Stages, and how about a bonus boss fight _a la_ the Rockman World games (complete with bonus weapon)? *Unrealistic?* _Might be!_ Not a programmer. There's nothing wrong with the legacy collections, and I think it's great that all the mainline entries are being ported to modern consoles. The problem is that we've had 2 back to back droughts with NO communnication whatsoever from Capcom.
I know that it'd be nice if had a Legacy Collection that had both PlayStation and Saturn releases as the Saturn release had stuff that was different than the PS1 release.
I think what Capcom should do is ask JKB games (creator of the Mega Man X Corrupted fan game) to develop his Mega Man game for the company. If you take a look at the amount of popularity the fan game is making, then you would further understand this. Yes, I’ve heard that there are some mishaps that could occur like sharing of ideas and platform transferring but if capcom just lets JKB games handle the main project it should be fine. Also, for the platform transfer, maybe capcom can help with that so everyone can play the game on different consoles. One more thing I want to mention about this is the possibility of a new mega man timeline. Because Corrupted takes place after MMX5 I believe, there could be potential for a new timeline, one that may fix the many problems that the sequels had. What do you guys think about this? Should it be brought to capcom’s attention?
Capcom avoiding Rockman & Forte/Megaman & Bass, for all these years is absurd that game is so good, honestly its just got a few areas that are tough other than that I always thought it was a solid entry, and I mean you can play as friggin Bass....I still have my GBA version I don't mind the screen crunch it is what it is, I've beaten Bass's story all the way to Wily shit was tough don't get me wrong. But i still haven't beaten Megamans story yet man that flying craft and those panels just screw me every time with him 😅
Capcom really needs to start up a Mega Man fighting franchise. ...A fighting game like Street Fighter or Darkstalkers, but with just Mega Man characters. They defdefinitely have more than enough characters to make just as many games, if not more than SF and DS if they include characters every MM game ever made. ...It will be huge success! 💲💵💸
How can we make sure they understand the following: 1 - Stop it with the 3D thing. Make Megaman games 2D. Use beatiful 2d retro looking sprites. 2 - Give us a cool charged shot. Ask the fans if needed. Megaman 4 to 6 had great charged shots. X1, X2 and X4 also. 3 - Fix the armor system. Find part and use. 4 - Good short story and little text. 5 - Voice introducing mavericks in X4 was cool. 6 - Sigma got tired already. Find something else. 7 - Aim to please oldschool fans. Kids don't pay for the game. Adults do. 8 - Good heavy metal like music. It always did the trick. 9 - No Axel and BS characters. 10 - Make 3 to 4 difficulty levels available. From supereasy to superhard. Replay value. 11 - Do not make bosses completely useless, once you have the right weapon. According to difficulty level, adjust.
#1 - Not a popular opinion, but a 3D art style strictly on a 2D plane can still be striking. Despite being a little grimy and bleak at times, MMX8 did this quite well. #6 - Sigma was killed at the end of X8, so X9 would probably have X8's final boss as the leader of the new generation reploids. #8 - Metal makes everything better :D
1) Nostalgia-driven game design is ridiculous. Consoles and PCs didn't technologically advance just for us to go back to the past because of "heckin' childhood memories!!!". The game can work with 3D visuals and, in my opinion, even with 3D gameplay in some select levels. Being technologically stagnant for over 30 years isn't a badge worth wearing, otherwise the series will die like its' fans - of old age. 7) If by this you mean making a game entirely targeting the 90s kid audience, then once again, it will die from a lack of new players. If you didn't mean keeping newcomers out, sure, it's okay. 9) If by BS you mean those rare metals in X8 that require A-Trans, then yes, those are total bullshit. Otherwise, I don't see a problem with Axl. If anything, he actually refreshed the gameplay with multidirectional shooting, floating and A-Trans.
@@achtunger5528 You are entitled to your opinion. However, nostalgia-driven gaming is very popular now. Most succesful videogame channels are all about it. Tasteful 3D use could work, but it is not a guarantee. I did grow up in the 90s playing videogames, however, Mario 64 was great and Megaman Legends was horrible. Medievil was great. And SOTN proved everyone wrong about the imperative use of 3D or whatever was the latest technology available, to make a great game, in fact, it is regarded as the greatest Castlevania game, over more technologically advanced 3D instances of the franchise.
I like the idea of a Complete Classic collection along with adding challenges for the 2nd half of the games. I'd also do what the Anniversary Collection did and give us a remixed soundtrack along with shoulder button weapon switching. Bonus, add the weapon wheel as well!

For example being able to use Black hole bomb in Mega Man 2, or Rush in Mega Man 1, or going Easy Mode by letting players use Metal Discs in 9? I know it would be pretty unbalanced & probably game-breaking but I feel like it would be a lot of fun.
Megaman 99: 4 Randomly selected Robot Masters, 4 Stages, also its in the 8 bit style, and has the mega arm due to the stardroids being a rare spawn.
If they want to sell 60$ games rather than 40$ games, Megaman Legends is more price structured for a 60$ length game. (And that would make DLC with new areas more in line with "mainline gaming".) And since Megaman Legends was so long ago, they could easily get away with a cheaper art style... Still don't think it will happen, but I feel like having Megaman in longer form content would be a way to make the games bring in more profit.
(I suspect Megaman 11 did not get a sequel because it had a cost to profit ration too low at the time, but the legacy collections sell enough to entice them to try something "different but the same" instead of just a sequel.)
I recommend Abyss X Zero, as a successor to Legends.

Knowing Capcom's disrespect for the franchise, they're going to make another Legacy Collection. Maybe a Remake Legacy Collection, like Powered Up and Maverick Hunter X.
While I'd like some new games, there are many unavailable Mega Man titles not currently for sale, so I'll take another Legacy Collection for them.

Maverick Hunter X didn't go _that_ far, but playable Vile was nice. *However, * I am all for an X series reboot that _streamlines_ the X through X8 storyline, including the Xtreme spinoff titles. Let characters show up way sooner, so when their betrayals, or deaths, or just leadership (everyone wave at Signas! ✋) suddenly matter!
*Yes, I brought up the Xtreme games. The Rockman World games matter as well.* I'd really love a bonus mode that would remix the individual stages into a "new" Mega Man game. Not _totally_ random (unless they could do it well). Just any Robot Master Stages (Maverick Stages for X) some fortress Stages, and how about a bonus boss fight _a la_ the Rockman World games (complete with bonus weapon)?
*Unrealistic?* _Might be!_ Not a programmer. But what I'd hope could work is, if a remix _mode_ isn't feasible, then just adapt the Rockman World (and Xtreme games) *but* keep that remix formula going. Since I'm assuming a series like this keepa using the same game engine so that assets would be compatible.
Even if some characters were completely non-canon, imagine being able to play as X, Zero, or Axl the entire series. Or Pre-Infection Sigma.
There's nothing wrong with the legacy collections, and I think it's great that all the mainline entries are being ported to modern consoles.
The problem is that we've had 2 back to back droughts with NO communnication whatsoever from Capcom.
I know that it'd be nice if had a Legacy Collection that had both PlayStation and Saturn releases as the Saturn release had stuff that was different than the PS1 release.

It depends if is a good creative fun game or if they are just made for money.
I think what Capcom should do is ask JKB games (creator of the Mega Man X Corrupted fan game) to develop his Mega Man game for the company. If you take a look at the amount of popularity the fan game is making, then you would further understand this. Yes, I’ve heard that there are some mishaps that could occur like sharing of ideas and platform transferring but if capcom just lets JKB games handle the main project it should be fine. Also, for the platform transfer, maybe capcom can help with that so everyone can play the game on different consoles. One more thing I want to mention about this is the possibility of a new mega man timeline. Because Corrupted takes place after MMX5 I believe, there could be potential for a new timeline, one that may fix the many problems that the sequels had. What do you guys think about this? Should it be brought to capcom’s attention?

Capcom avoiding Rockman & Forte/Megaman & Bass, for all these years is absurd that game is so good, honestly its just got a few areas that are tough other than that I always thought it was a solid entry, and I mean you can play as friggin Bass....I still have my GBA version I don't mind the screen crunch it is what it is, I've beaten Bass's story all the way to Wily shit was tough don't get me wrong. But i still haven't beaten Megamans story yet man that flying craft and those panels just screw me every time with him 😅

How can we make sure they understand the following:
1 - Stop it with the 3D thing. Make Megaman games 2D. Use beatiful 2d retro looking sprites.
2 - Give us a cool charged shot. Ask the fans if needed. Megaman 4 to 6 had great charged shots. X1, X2 and X4 also.
3 - Fix the armor system. Find part and use.
4 - Good short story and little text.
5 - Voice introducing mavericks in X4 was cool.
6 - Sigma got tired already. Find something else.
7 - Aim to please oldschool fans. Kids don't pay for the game. Adults do.
8 - Good heavy metal like music. It always did the trick.
9 - No Axel and BS characters.
10 - Make 3 to 4 difficulty levels available. From supereasy to superhard. Replay value.
11 - Do not make bosses completely useless, once you have the right weapon. According to difficulty level, adjust.
Or pay whoever made Corrupted and release that.
#1 - Not a popular opinion, but a 3D art style strictly on a 2D plane can still be striking. Despite being a little grimy and bleak at times, MMX8 did this quite well.
#6 - Sigma was killed at the end of X8, so X9 would probably have X8's final boss as the leader of the new generation reploids.
#8 - Metal makes everything better :D
1) Nostalgia-driven game design is ridiculous. Consoles and PCs didn't technologically advance just for us to go back to the past because of "heckin' childhood memories!!!". The game can work with 3D visuals and, in my opinion, even with 3D gameplay in some select levels. Being technologically stagnant for over 30 years isn't a badge worth wearing, otherwise the series will die like its' fans - of old age.
7) If by this you mean making a game entirely targeting the 90s kid audience, then once again, it will die from a lack of new players. If you didn't mean keeping newcomers out, sure, it's okay.
9) If by BS you mean those rare metals in X8 that require A-Trans, then yes, those are total bullshit. Otherwise, I don't see a problem with Axl. If anything, he actually refreshed the gameplay with multidirectional shooting, floating and A-Trans.

@@achtunger5528 You are entitled to your opinion. However, nostalgia-driven gaming is very popular now. Most succesful videogame channels are all about it. Tasteful 3D use could work, but it is not a guarantee. I did grow up in the 90s playing videogames, however, Mario 64 was great and Megaman Legends was horrible. Medievil was great. And SOTN proved everyone wrong about the imperative use of 3D or whatever was the latest technology available, to make a great game, in fact, it is regarded as the greatest Castlevania game, over more technologically advanced 3D instances of the franchise.
I like the idea of a Complete Classic collection along with adding challenges for the 2nd half of the games.
I'd also do what the Anniversary Collection did and give us a remixed soundtrack along with shoulder button weapon switching. Bonus, add the weapon wheel as well!
