I been on the fence about buying these door handles, you really gave me something to think about before I purchase. My chevelle isn't a trailer queen I plan on driving it often
Dave Kendig highly suggests that the backing plate and the housing for the handle should be prepped and painted. Two reasons, the obvious is so it doesn't rust. The second reason, is so you dont see a different color than the body of the car.
I'm sorry but your response isn't well thought out. It arrived rusted but we all know to paint it. That doesn't solve the huge hole behind the handle where rain or even car wash water would get in does it? My cheap Toyota with it's plastic $15 door handle doesn't allow rain to enter my doors and rot them out from the inside. That is a huge design flaw due to the fact that these handles are designed for people who more than likely would never get their cars wet.
😂 Don't like that their not sealed and water will get in the door if it rains. What do you think happens with the window belt moldings, you think they hold back all the water. That's the reason you have drain holes in bottom of door.

my new f150 gets water in the door all the time when it rains, just need a good drain for the bottom
Would it be possible to install and wire up Tesla door handles ? I’ve been thinking about trying it on my bronco lol
do it
Anything is possible with enough effort and money. I really want to do this too lmao. Been trying to find info online, but hard to find.
