Basically because of the weight. When Rimac will get below 1600 / 1500kg I bet the times are going to be insane. Please don't see this as "hate"... I absolutely love Rimac and the Nevera.

And if Tesla decided to sacrifice battery longevity (like Rimac) and added one more of the same carbon sleeved motors to the Roadster (4 motor config), it will already be faster and probably lighter than Nevera. Cooling design so far is another big advantage in Tesla as they use 1 in the Plaid (octovalve and some clever solutions) while Nevera uses 5 seperated coolers and this results in 2300kg even with largest carbon monocoque in the industry and 3 million budget per car...

Definitely one of the main limiting factors here as to why the car couldn't break the 7 minute barrier or compete with the more purpose built cars like the project one or GT2. not bad.. but i played this video and of the 911 GT3 RS at the same time and the Porsche just absolutely blew me away! a car with 1/4 of the horsepower absolutely walked this thing on the track! the Porsche was halfway down the main straight before the Rimac even entered it lol. All that horsepower.. but it still isn't anything if you have a ton of weight or little downforce. I say its time to make a track car version! Balls to the walls on the downforce, a car of this magnitude should be chasing AMG one times, not the Beetle's great grandson! XDD

      @sammybeevg Год назад +1

      yeah ruined me magic of this video when I watched them side by side. little bit of a one trick pony the rimac, very fast in a straight line kind of like any American muscle car, big plus of watching them side by side is the sound the porsche makes is godly. i'd still take the 911

    Pretty good lap time for an EV but it is funny that a Cayman GT4 RS is faster. You just have to hold back so much in this car because of the amount of power and a lack of aero parts and the car generally being very heavy.
