they did a great job during this scene showing just much capable cloud is with his mako enhancements. 1:50 is a good spot and it shows a great amount of training and skill. kudos to the devs for showing us just how dangerous cloud could be if needed to be to save himself and others.
A theory I have, is that up to the 15 secs mark would reference the final battle of the original game it’s like deja vu. At the point cloud struggles, Sephiroth stops him seeing the final battle ie "That which lies ahead does not yet exist" references the final battle. But Sephiroth doesn't want Cloud to see what could happen. "Our world will become part of it one day" says the final show down will happen. "But I will not end" - referenced his final death, "nore will I have you end" - the inner Jenova control he has over cloud. The "edge of creation" - is the point before reality will occur with the final battle. It's merely that the end is all but unset.
Sorry to crush your theory but Motomu Toriyama describes this realm the edge of space and time where time stands still. if time were to resume, the world would end in seven seconds unless the course can be changed. Sephiroth tells Cloud it is up to him to avoid this future.
Ive seen people theorize that the “7 seconds” and “what will you do with the time” is referencing ariths death. They have timed it, and from when seph comes on screen, to when he drops and kills her, is 7 seconds apparently.
So English dub is somewhat off. So the parts that can be translated differently I will list. "Our world will become a part of it one day, I wont end, nor will I have you end" in Japanese is actually closer to "We will become one with it, I dont want to disappear, and I dont want you to vanish either" < kinda similar but hard to explain context difference,. "Cloud, Lend me your strength" is more accurately translated to "Cloud I need your power/Strength" < not a request, Sephiroth is expressing a genuine need for Cloud's help. "Seven seconds until the end, time enough for you perhaps, but what will you do with it?" should be "we only have seven seconds until the end, however we can still make it in time, Cloud, our future is up to you" < this is the big line that changes everything IMO. The Japanese lines give a bigger link as to Sephiroth needing Clouds help to defy destiny. Which in this case is probably to truly purge Jenova from the lifestream. (given FF7 Rebirth ending where it really is implied he isnt talking to aeirith and instead Jenova "appearing as one he loves")
Epiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic scene and music i watched on RUclips like trillion times i really can't wait for final fantasy 7 remake part 2 i think it's coming this year 🙌
Despite some of my reservations about all the added lore, this is still one of my favorite scenes in Remake. Gives me chills. Especially with the musical callback to The Forgotten Capital.
I think something a lot of people got tripped by was that this scene was trying to establish that "you can hear the cries of the planet" was always about the planet's fate more than Aerith's, but that was never obvious because in the original, it only played where Aerith was killed, obfuscating this connection. This is why i think so many people thought "seven seconds til the end" referred to Aerith's fate, even after we found in game and ultimania sources saying it's about the fate of the planet. What made this more difficult was that Aerith's fate and the planet's fate feel intrinsically connected, judging by just how many people believe Aerith's death and placement in the lifestream is the reason humanity survived at all, which COULD be true but im pretty sure it's never explicitly said that that is the case. Tl;dr: the song choice for this scene made theory crafting a little hard when this game first came out. Plus: this is reinforced by this song only being used in lifestream/planet related segments in Rebirth and i think, very, very barely before Aerith's fate but i think I'm thinking of a different theme.
Ok two things: Number one: watching this in 60 fps is jarring as hell Number two: Why is no one talking about the fact that the fuckin galaxy in the background is LITERALLY SAFER SEPHIROTH
@@CraigBaker96837 I never noticed this before and even now I am curious what were they getting at with this scene with the whole "7 Seconds Until the End" line. was this all a metaphor for the final fight from the OG?
@@CraigBaker96837Either that or the philosopher’s stone. The scene could be referencing the stages of creating one, black for the raw materials, white for the intermediary stage, red for the stone.
It is a complete parallel to the last battle in the lifestream! 7 more seconds is almost exactly where their fight ends if Cloud uses Omnislash! 7 more seconds till the end of the sequence
SPOILER FOR REBIRTH so im pretty sure there are 7 seven seconds in the rebirth cutscene where sephiroth "kills" Erith, and him saying there was enough time for him perhaps is in reference to the fact the event could happen where he saves erith but also the fact he may not be able to (which he didn't but we as viewers saw a glimps of the timeline he did save her) so basically sephiroph is being a asshole and saying "maybe you can save her we'll see" when he knows he probably won't
Means Cloud has 7 seconds to change destiny. In original he beat Sephiroth, but in this Sephiroth offers his 7 seconds to change time. In return he he gives Cloud 7 seconds. He chooses to save Zack

The ultimania for rebirth came out. There are 6 worlds in rebirth. I’m convinced there will be a 7th and it’ll all link back to this.

Doesn't the formation in the red nebula represent Jenova Life (red color palette)?

02:42 I can see the Horsehead Nebula there. Twice. Interesting that they took real life deep sky objects and put them in the background.
0:38 did they nerf the length of Sephiroth's sword in Part 2/rebirth?

Missed opportunity to have the line be exactly seven seconds until the end of the video
I feel they put a Sephiroth fight at the end of Remake and Rebirth in case the next game somehow didn't happen.
