I just recently bought these trays to try out. I got two of the 36 cell, four of the 16 cell, and two of the 8 cell trays. Yes, a dome would have been nice. I just planted some brassicas last week and I covered it with plastic wrap. I removed the plastic wrap when the seeds started germinating. It worked, but I would still rather have the dome.
I typically plant at least eight of each type of plant in my garden, so I don't bother with the grid. If I am only going to start a few in number of a particular plant, I will go back to one of the cheap plastic pony packs left over from a garden shop purchase. ( I handle those very carefully when removing the seedling so as not to damage the plastic tray) The grid work on the Burpee seed starter trays you are reviewing ( And I have about 6 of them) have two problems as I see it, the stamped in numbers and letters are hard to read, and a paper is liable to get lost. Plus, I have too many of the same types of trays. This is my first season using them. What I do, is cut a small piece of paper, write what is planted in that particular tray, and using clear packaging tape, I tape them on so they are waterproof. Then when I've transplanted the seedlings out of the tray, I just remove the label.
I was hunting for a shorter cell than the standard 2.5” depth my self-watering Burpee set has. Now I want these cells, so I don’t have to keep using a gentle hand on the kit ones. Oh I love those cheap ole cells. They’re solo, but they still work. Hey, if ya want reusable, buy reusable. After ur video, now I kinda have to. Thanks!
maybe burpee could sell little paper notepads (like in the game clue lol) with the stuff printed on it, then you could rip off old lists and have a fresh one. Love the download idea too
That is such a good idea to have a QR code for the grid!! I hope Burpee does see this and add that.
I know right!

Good tip on the plastic wrap. I will try that too and welcome to channel
I put the dome on 2 of the 16 ones. You just have to line the bottoms and tops up and the dome fits nicely over them
I came across these today at Walmart. Picked up 2 of the 36 cell ones for $11.44 a tray. Looking forward to trying these out.
Great review! Wondering what types of plants you’d start in the bigger ones vs the smaller one! Thanks for your time!

You can get a knock off on Amazon that comes with a lid. Some have grow lights

great video keep up the good work
Great video!
Thanks!
I wish it had the dome
If I’m not mistaken a standard 10”x10” dome should fit. I think they hit it out of the park with the silicone bottoms
I managed putting 2 cell trays together to fit my clear domes. But they should come with a dome.
@@JimMeakim I agree with that
Definitely want a dome, if only as an option. Cannot find a dome anywhere that fits those dimensions.
Amazon has knock offs with lids
Does this work for marijuana seeds?
No dome
