@@DemstarAus THANK YOU!!! We can't always be dependent on ancillary media for what is considered canon and what isn't. If a franchise is known for being multi-media like Warhammer 40k, then I can understand, but when you look at something that has a main media source, for this example let's use Halo, chances are something will happen in that source material that will contradict or outright retcon whatever was said in the ancillary media source! Who honestly reads the Halo books? Do they all share the same writer? How often does stuff get contradicted between books, and by extension between the books and the games?

Bowling Alleys in America typically serve/sell pizza. All-Star's Pizza might be a generic term placed upon a generic pizza box. In America, if you aren't a pizza chain, it is common to use a generic pizza box. The phone number could be for purchasing more pizza boxes. Therefore, the pizza was from the Bowling Alley
I did think this, but the investigation section shows no signs of other pizza boxes anywhere on the property (including the garbage out back). you would have thought there would be more of these boxes anywhere on site
@@SilentHillside It could be that the pizza was there the whole time. It was part of the town, just waiting to be eaten. Someone else brought it for a party or gathering and then died. But the pizza remained behind. And then Eddie the Glutton came along and ate that stale pizza. Or it was Aliens.

The pizza is a manifestation of Eddie's desire to eat the best pizza he's ever tasted and the punishment is being forced to eat it cold.
I always assumed that the town was half still there, that you're trapped in a nightmare world but that there are regular people living in a small town on the other side of that divide. Eddie buys a pizza from a local shop, Laura wanders around a small town and sees normal people and feels mostly safe, etc.

The only problem is that the game states that the South Vale neighborhood was long abandoned.
Then again, to argue against myself here, that was stated during the weird elevator quiz show, and there's no real reason to believe that wasn't just a figment of James' imagination, in which case your point still stands.
It stands to reason that's kinda how it works. I mean, James and Mary have fond memories of staying in silent hill, pretty much the premise of the game.
So it stands to reason Mary and James spent time in silent hill, just enjoying a quaint, small, peaceful town.
Maybe some of the corpses that were clearly killed by Eddie weren't so imaginary.
That's what I've always thought. It's sort of a 4D thing. There's Silent Hill the town. Silent Hill the fog world, and Silent Hill the Other World. They're kinda layered on top of each other like three characters models clipping inside each other.
And i also believe that the town itself, Silent Hill, _is alive_ and aware at least on some level. It chooses who to call, who will see the Fog World, who will see the world and who will go into the Other World.
I don't think the town is evil though or good. People who enter the town can find salvation or damnation depending on how they choose to respond to their personal demons but i don't think the town really cares one way or the other. After all, a flame doesn't care about the moths drawn to it.
"But a flame isn't alive so why is the town alive?" You might ask. I don't know. I just believe that it is, it might not be. Maybe it's just a very complicated psychic flytrap. No real awareness, just responds to external stimuli (the minds of the people being haunted like James and Angela) and it gives the illusion of conscious reactions but it ain't. But it might be. Maybe.

@@richardhellawell4596 I like to imagine the Pizza was kinda symbolic to the day when Eddie snapped in real life. He was simply eating his Pizza but the one that keeps bullying him won't leave him alone. An Eddie not being able to finish the Pizza in peace and tired of all this torture, went home got a gun and shot the guys dog, then proceed to shoot his bully in the knee.
By the time he realized what he did he simply ran for his life and kept running till one day he somehow ended up in Silent Hill. An the town was reminding Eddie of that day his life took a turn for the worst.
I blame the dog for everything.
That's a question I've never asked and now can't stop thinking about.

Silent Hill is tormenting Eddie with so much pizza, though he can never finish a slice, he sits in complete bewilderment as he cant understand why he cant finish it and fully consume its greatness. This further frustrates him as he heads off to the prison, angered by the lack of pizza he begins to snap and give James cheek... later, even more frustrated and hungry, being taunted by silent hill, he cracks at the slightest little thing, when James says at the Freezer... "Eddie... have you gone nuts". :P
At that moment Eddie was craving some peanuts and James' remark made him snap.

I always thought that the town basically spawned a pizza specifically for Eddie, deliberately to be seen by james, as a way to encourage James to continue forward if he wants to also get what he's looking for
I'll go even further and suggest that not only did Eddie not order the pizza, but he wished for it. It was given to him by the Town based on a wish, similar to Maria with james. The clues that I would use to surmise this is the fact that it comes from a place called All Stars pizza. Where do you find All Stars? In the sky at night. If you look at the graphics shown on the screen, it looks like a constellation. This seems to imply that he had made a wish for pizza and that it didn't come from some Pizzeria. I mean he never says that he ordered it. for all we know he could have just walked in there and it was sitting there so he decided to have at it, but I'm thinking with that little detail, that it's possible that from all stars, AKA Wishing Upon A star, he got the thing that he wanted at that moment

Silent Hill’s spiritual power is so potent that it can physically alter reality itself. It not only enables the conjunction of reality and the Otherworld but we even see throughout the series that the town itself is malleable with this power (I.e “there was a hole here - it’s gone now”)
It sounds silly but the town’s spiritual power is feeding off the darkness within these characters and projecting them back onto reality. Since Eddie’s darkness stems from his hatred regarding this weight, the town is feeding off of his darkness while literally feeding him.
That pizza do be looking tasty though.

I love that this deep dive shows how eldritch and crypic even the pizza can be in silent hill 2. I honestly gravitate to this scene for the humor, but how sh it is for a pizza to be the strangest thing in a scene. So book highlighting that eddie and laura arriving together should have included a reference to eddie holding his two za’s. Important gear.

I've always considered Pyramid Head the chef. Considering his big knife may just as well be one of those pizza slidy things.

This is crazy, here I am a grown man in my mid twenties, deployed overseas for the military. And watching a video on how a fictional character acquired a box of pizza in a haunted town 😂👌 at 1am in the morning.
In my restless dreams, I see that pizza. I can finally rest easy now that this investigation has been thoroughly conducted.
I assumed he found the pizza there. He saw it, it didn’t seem like it had gone bad so he decided to eat it. Or all star pizza is in the bowling alley. Most of the bowling alley’s I have been to also have a place for pizza.

I always assumed Eddie was in a weird in between state between Silent Hill and the real world. To him he's just at a bowling alley with other patrons around, hence why he acts confused when James asks if there's other people around and why he acts so calm about Lura running off, until he's at the end of his rope, he just thinks he's on the run for shooting someone's knee.
This kind of analysis is what I love about silent hill fans. I used to spend ages staring at the texture packs for these games way back when.
The REAL question should be: "Who would eat a pizza that appears on Silent Hill?"

I’m quite surprised there is a video going in depth on Eddie’s pizza, but I’m more surprised I’m actually watching it.
I don't understand. The game answers all of these questions. All Stars is the place Eddie worked (to get free pizza). He tells you this when you go there to further his backstory. It's one of the biggest "dungeons" in the game. You go there right before you go to Angela's house and discover the crime scene in the bedroom.

Turns out the actual pizza was the friends we made along the way 😔
Anyone who has played the games know that Silent Hill isn't the same for everyone that experiences it. Especially within Silent Hill 2. The obvious examples that the game hands you is how Angela sees everything on fire instead of decayed and foggy like how James sees it. They also make it pretty obvious that Laura does not see anything wrong with the town or any of the monsters.
A lot of the Town is cut off for James. Areas that might not be cut off for Eddie. An area that has the pizza shop he could have got them from.
It's speculated that Eddie's fight with James is a clue as to how he sees it. Cold, working electricity. Any food in Eddie's version of Silent Hill would likely be preserved and he probably has means to cook it.
The Bowling Ally could also be operational for him and could have indeed order himself some pizza. We can't really know for sure unless the game explored his side of Silent Hill more. Maybe in the upcoming remake.
Either way it's all interpretation and speculation. The two things the Silent Hill series is great at.
I believe that the pizza places are open for Eddie. Like Laura kinda hints to when she asks if James is blind. James sees monsters and Angela sees everything on fire. Laura probably sees unicorns and pretty stuff. Eddie probably sees food places everywhere and dead doggos. And they would be able to serve him like the monsters can interact with James. If a monster spits acid at James maybe Eddie can see the clothes burning off of him too... I think you are looking at the situation in what would be a very mundane world and didn't take into account that there is a supernatural aspect to it. Maybe the pizza would even appear to be burnt or on fire to Angela.

The answer seems pretty obvious to me. The pizza was clearly planted there by Mira to lure Eddy to Pete's Bowl-O-Rama, ensuring the plot of the story went off without a hitch.

Instead of helping Eddie, or stopping the bully, Eddie was the one being yelled at. "If you only get better grades" or "if only you lost some weight." or what ever else. It was never the bullies fault, it was Eddie's
Eddie, based on the abuse remained mentally immature, and cause of that, he would apologize over and over when ever he was yelled at.
As Eddie grew dealing with this, he also started to stress eat, gaining weight over time, binging on food when ever he can
The gun Eddie found was used to shoot both the dog and the bully, having finally had enough. Shooting the dog first, and then the bully, not to kill, but to deprave the town of its all star player
Eddie, escaping into silent hill, found himself at the bowling alley and, I am betting was hungry. The All stars pizza box, supplying Eddie with food. The pizza making him fat, and the bully had Eddie gain an eating disorder.
And I can’t get them to deliver when I’m five miles away smh
