ETNZ actually lost a start! But it hardly made a difference - they're in a different class from the backrunners.
AM blew ETNZ out so bad it was one of the worst losses yet.
@@Trajectionable Yes - that was hopeful for the challengers. Apparently it was a day when the choice of sails was 50/50, and teams that went the wrong way got hammered. I suspect that's what happened. Having said that, the Italians and the Americans are looking quite competitive, if they can cut out mistakes and breakdowns. GB has a ways to go but is improving, and things look bleak for the Swiss and the French.
I think it would be better to watch if we were given more data on what was happening. VMG, heading, proper wind overlays, even if they broadcast all the data on a different RUclips channel so as not to clutter up a mobiles screen but it would allow switching between and for the wide monitors a split or pip screen.
Yeah also because the commentary is absolutely useless. They provide no technical context on the race, the strategies, winds, the difference between the boats, etc. At least give us some tools to figure it out ourselves
The final will most likely be NZ vs IT
The real final will be Team NZ vs the winner of the LV Cup 😅
@@6Ginge which should probably be Luna Rossa again
Long way to go.
Team NZ wanted the favoured right hand side, & got it & it proved to correct move despite not being the first over the start line by a matter of a few meters & possibly a slight lower boat speed. But they were still accelerating & in just a few more moments It was basically game over for the Swiss. Final will be with the Italians without a doubt.
Impressive light wind performance from Te Horo
ETNZ got the right side at the start they wanted and never looked challenged.
ETNZ has gotta good boat
Problème de vitesse sur Alinghi
They couldn't afford to buy out team new Zealand this time 😂
Are there going to be any exciting races . This is the race committee, can we make any race more exciting 😢
Cant stand alinghi there boat looks like half chewed sea cucumber
Imagine spending all that time effort and money. Using the worlds very best sailors production technology and supporting teams to end up with something so utterly BORING. IM OFF TO FIND SOME EXCITEMENT IN WATCHING SOME PAINT DRY!
@@drewr34skyline18 bye... don't let the door smack you in the arse on the way out....
Enjoy your paint fumes Karen 🎉
You won’t be missed.
Hey, why don't you just put wheels on these contraptions and race them out on the Formula 1 circuit. You know you want to......
BORING. Too late now but suggest going forward they just start and do a single windward/leeward. More starts and fewer legs. Whom ever wins the start and first leg wins the race. So why the unnecessary legs?
Gives more of a chance for match racing, in theory.
It comes from sailing history where you do a few downwind and a few upwind legs. On the upwind, the boat ahead has the advantage since they can tack over the top and give bad air. On the downwind, the boat behind can shadow the boat ahead with bad air to allow them to close the distance, so downwind legs help make them a closer race.
The problem is that now with the foiling boats, they are sailing faster than the wind on the downwind legs, so now EVERY LEG is essentially an upwind leg. This makes the leader have the advantage in nearly every scenario. Unfortunately this makes the race less interesting because passing is really hard.
I miss real match racing in the America's Cup. So boring to watch now.
Sucks for you ⛳
Poor thing 😂
So don't watch....
From someone that’s done 2 I think I’m entitled to an opinion. Keep sailing those couches
@@jamieblack9349 if you do not like it, don't watch. Yes, you are entitled to an opinion. So are we.
Just goes to show that a bigger headsail is not always better
yet another yawn fest of a race! This isn't racing, it's whoever gets the best start and gets ahead! 12 races with zero overtakes!
Waste of time to watch beyond half way up the first beat
Cry more get over it
teamnz lost the start but still dominated? the problem is how much better teamnz is than everyone else
Time for your nap 💤
And yet here you are
God it’s boring !
No ones forcing you to be here
and the commentator Stephen McIvor makes me cringe whenever he opens his mouth. A lot of the racing I have to watch in mute.
Delusional you are boring
You are the one boring
commenting that
Where are all the spectator boats?
They've seen enough too !
