I was just looking for random book journal videos and clicked on this one, and I was not expecting it to be the most aesthetic flip through I’ve ever seen. So pretty. I want to start a book journal now. 😂✨
For the books around the spread, why not have 5 fill in types? These could correspond to your ratings. Perhaps a solid is a five star, lines are a four star, dots are three star, solid with lines is two star, snd solid with dots is one star. That way you not only see which countries you've read from but also a visual of how you've rated.
I was about to comment how a few different fill in types would be cool! And corresponding with the ratings sounds amazing, I never would have thought of that!
i would actually colour the countries based on how many books you read from them! and if you can, i think a gradient would probably look nicer so something like: 1 book: lightest colour 2-4 books: darker colour 5+ books: darkest colour
@@merel4518 I LOVE this idea!!!! Trying to rate books from other countries is a little complicated to then translate to a single pattern on a map! And by going light to dark with how many you read, you could just add layers of color as you read more! It's genius! Maybe sticking with the tombows in that case?
I love how consistent your aesthetic is in your reading journal - mine is all over the place!! I think for the reading around the world spread could you have multiple colours and the colours correspond to how many books you’ve read from that country (you could layer tombow markers to get darker the more books you’ve read)
I adore your book journal videos, they are so inspiring. I do not manage such a beautiful and consistent aesthetic 😍 but I have gotten lots of ideas from your videos to reinterpret in my more messy and chaotic journal. I love how you do your monthly spreads, the book bracket and your reading around the world map, all of which I might incorporate going forward. I also do a spread for each book I read (I also do the ones I DNF explaining why) and can’t fit it all in one journal, usually it works out to about 6 months per journal - if I get to a point where probably I won’t fit a whole month in what is left, that is when I change to a new one.
I love when you do flip throughs! 😍 I would love to make my own reading journal, but I'm not good at finishing books.. Maybe this is the motivation to start reading more! 🥰 I would fill in the countries with gold! ✨
For your reading around the world, you could make a couple photocopies of the spread and then try a few different options of filling in the countries to see which you like best. Then do the final in your journal.
Such a beautiful journal! I loved most of the books you chose for your first Reading around the world reads and found the video fascinating. I'd love to see an update on the challenge! Take care ♡
I love this! I've kept book journals but nothing this beautiful or elaborate. I really like the idea of having one for the entire year. I'm drawn to brighter colors so my idea for the countries spread is to take a color from the cover of the book read for that country to fill it in with.
I love your spreads so much. It’s giving me ideas for mine next year! Would you ever possibly do a detailed video listing how you do your stats and etc Or a video/just an explanation of the dimensions you use to create the favorite books bracket pages? I’ve tried recreating it but it looks funky and off. Again, love your spreads!!!
Thank you! I definitely could. For stats I track in a spreadsheet and then compile them into graphs using canva. And for the book bracket spread, I can give you exact measurements if you’re using an 8x8 notebook! Otherwise you’d have to adjust them to whatever size notebook you use ❤️
I was wondering about the stats also. I can't see what any of the stats pages say but I would love to. This is amazing PBB! Thanks for all the inspiration 😀
@@PlantBasedBride Oh awesome! I just love the way the stats look! I track mine in a spread sheet too! And I do use an 8x8! I can’t imagine not using a square notebook for my reading journal. Something about it is just perfect. Thank you, truly appreciate tou!

Ooo. For the map tracker, could you do a variety of fill patterns? Stripes, dots, solid, cross batch, etc... If you start a pattern and dislike, you could turn them solid.
You could print out a couple more world maps and fill them each in with the different ways you’v been debating over to see which way is your favorite . Personally I think different shades of light brown would be very pretty
I think putting down a single black dot would be my choice for the reading around the world spread. I think it will look the nicest when complete :) Ps: You could try to print out a "test image" and try the method out beforehand. Just to get a feeling of what it will look like. :)
I was thinking of grabbing a quick picture on my iPad and using procreate to test different methods of filling in the spread! When you say a single black dot, do you mean just a small one inside the borders of the country somewhere?

What did you use to print off the books for your 22 by 2022 book spread? I've been wanting to do a similar thing by printing off the covers of the books to remind me of the ones I want to read or mark the ones I have too!
Oh just kidding you answered this question towards the end of the video!
How do you get the pictures of the book covers? I’m a newbie.
Love the video! but I do have a question, I wonder what is the data used for the stats? It looks really interesting but I am not sure what it is about.
I track a bunch of information about my reading like what format I read in, where the authors are from, what genres I’m reading, etc!
@@PlantBasedBride oh okay I see! that's awesome! thank you for replying!
when people do the reading around the world thing, do they take into consideration where the story takes place, or where the author is from? ive never been able to find out
I've been trying to do both!
You should paint the countries gold. Lol. Way too much work, but it'd look sooooo pretty
Haha that would be gorgeous!
Idea for the world map: print out an extra one en try all the different things to see what you like most!
I'm thinking of doing just that but digitally in procreate!
Lol why do I feel like lower reading months were high house stress months - house hunting/financing pre-approvals etc and then reno in June :P
This is 100% accurate 😭 and it continues now that we’ve moved in but aren’t done working on the house yet 😅
Love this journal! How do you do your stats pages?
Thank you! I track stats in a spreadsheet and then use Canva to turn the stats into graphs ❤️
@@PlantBasedBride that’s such a good idea!
How is it possible to create such beautiful journals ?! 😍📚
pour les livres en Français je te conseille Morgane Moncomble !
What stats do you track every month?
I love this! I want to start my own reading journal but I want to know where do you get your reading stats? Is it in an app or do you do it yourself?
I keep track of them in a spreadsheet then use canva to make the graphs ❤️
