What about the Ventriloquist? He may not be a major bat villain, but he has been a prominent member of the rogues gallery since the 80s. Think you could make a top 5 best stories for Wesker?
Would it count as a Top 5 Ventriloquist stories or a Top 5 Scarface stories? I say this because, weirdly, Scarface has had some adventures without Wesker.

Bane is certainly one of Batman's deadly villains
I personally like Bane in Arkham War. It gives him a chance to become what he wants the most. without Batman in the city and all of Arkham's criminals under his thumb he finally gets to be king of Gotham. until Batman comes back.

I really enjoy the character of Bane and overall, I'm happy he wasn't discarded once Knightfall reached it's conclusion. Even if future Bane stories don't quite live up to that one, We've still gotten plenty of good stories featuring Bane since then. I still want to see a top 5 greatest Man-Bat stories someday.

As for comics, I know it's not a very popular one, but I actually really enjoyed the recent Batman Rebirth arc "I am Bane";
(Bane using the Psycho Pirate to help with his addiction to venom was a good idea IMO)
I thought Bane was great in *Secret Six* , he was so cute when trying to be a father figure for Scandal Savage.... his first date with that friend of Scandal's GF was a huge "awwwwww" moment for me

Bane's drug addiction was always fascinating to me. In Batman Beyond, Bane is dying a painful death because of his drug addiction. Children who saw this were probably more afraid of drugs than they were when elementary school teachers told them that drugs are deadly.

I also enjoyed the side mission in Arkham City where you can destroy drug containers. People should watch it because I don't want to spoil it.
And in the Batman The Animated Series episode Bane after Batman throws a Batarang into the tube that controls the Venom Bane can't control it and starts getting bigger and bigger and screaming for help until Batman pulls the tube out. That probably put a load of kids off drugs for life.
Bane!s appeal comes from his high intelligence and high strength. This makes him an awesome character to go against batman as he can not only go against batman physically, but mentally as well. He also has tended to work with the heroes in times of crisis and is more complex then his nature lets on. Also his ever changing visual design is extremely fascinating and for lack of a better term "cool". Not to mention that he has had a lot of push since his original appearance.

I've read the top 3 Bane stories. Now I want to read the first 2. I haven't read many Bane Stories. Maybe you could also make a Top 10 Clayface stories also. And include all 4 individual Clayfaces.
This was an epic video. Bane is one of Batman's deadliest Rouges next to someone like Joker and Ras Al Gul. The 3rd Bane Story I think also is more relatable. Though, seeing a bad guy come back bigger and badder then ever before has been done a lot. The first Vengeance of Bane had more of an impact in Bane's mythos.

Ban and Ra's Al Ghul are a couple of popular Batman villains that I never actually cared about as much as the other rouges, but I am able to respect their importance in the Batman storyline.

I haven't read very many comics with Bane; this is no surprise by this point, I'm sure. :P In all seriousness, though, the number of stories/series focused on Bane I've read in total I can count on my hands and still have some fingers left over; about seven or eight, and several of them I haven't even revisited since I first read them.
With that said, by some lucky chance, once again, all five of your choices are among those I've read, and I think I'd call them my favorites too. HOWEVER, the order would be slightly different. My order would be...
1. Knightfall (duh)
2. Tabula Rasa
3. Vengeance of Bane
4. Bane: Conquest
5. Vengeance of Bane II

1:50 Due to the placement of that word balloon's trail, I have to ask, is it the Kobra Agent whose talking there or the baby she's holding? I know in most cases the answer would be obvious, but this is a superhero universe containing a sentient cross-dressing street and a pair of alien twins who can shape-shift into water and animals by fist bumping each other. I can believe there's a talking baby with access to a kill team somewhere in there as well.

Great video. I’m not a huge fan and I know you’re not a huge fan of Tom King’s Batman run, but I read his arc Cold Days recently and it was incredible. It involves mr freeze although it’s more about Batman than freeze, but I still like freeze in it, and the art is great. I highly recommend it, definitely the best of Tom King’s run in my opinion.

Awesome list, as always. However there’s one rogue that has become an upper tier bat foe in the last 15 years since he made his first appearance. What’s your opinion on the character of Thomas Elliot AKA Hush? In my opinion, he’s tied with R’as as my favorite Batman villain.

Well I can admit that I didn't put Secret Six on the list because I haven't read the entire series, only part of it.

Why - WHY did they give Bane the luchador mask in 'Conquest'? Why must artists keep doing this? I mean, I know his costume is based on them, but still, he has such a distinctive mask already that it always ticks me off when they just go with the full-on mouth-and-nose-exposed look. Maybe luchadors make it work in real life, but on Bane, it just looks silly. I hated it in B:tAS, and I hate it here.
Yeah it's weird, especially since it was Graham Nolan who drew it... he did get the classic mask for the last two issues though.

Sadly, I don’t think he has that many stories. He is the villain of three stories I know of, and he had a small role in Justice League Vs. Suicide Squad, and he’s had some cameos and other small appearances in some other stuff. But I doubt you can make a proper top five list when only three stories he’s appeared in actually focus on him or feature him in a large role.

I like that Bane is strong enough to physically challenge Batman and, unlike Killer Croc, writers haven't felt the need to give him a lobotomy.
Also Bane's trio was in the I am Bane Batman Rebirth story.

I prefer Bane when he's not on Venom. He's more dangerous without it. With it he might get stronger but it also makes him dumber and easier to beat since all someone has to do is cut the tube. Batman did it in Bane's self titled BTAS episode, Robin and Batgirl did it to the abomination that was the Batman & Robin version of Bane. And Venom, TN-1 and Titan really affected Arkham Bane for the worse.

The one from Gotham Knight, Knightfall are just stories that tell another tell, i like stories that develope the character more.

Vengeance of Bane 2 did I great job developing Bane after knightfall. I love watching a villain reinvent himself and Vengeance 2 does a great rebuilding Bane.

Baron Blitzkrieg! An old DC villain. He had a great role in the Superman/Wonder Woman story from 1978 by Gerry Conway and Jose Luis Garcia Lopez. It's a fantastic war-time tale. Takes place on Earth-2. Really enjoyable book.

Has there ever been a story where Scarecrow finds out how Bane used to see Batman as the embodiment of his fears and then douses him with his fear Toxin to make him afraid again? I think that'd be a great story, Bane would have to overcome his fear after doing some soul searching after being humiliated, and Scarecrow can see the effects it has on someone like Bane. And in the end Bane can realize that for him to truly beat his fear he has to beat Batman at his best without weakening him, and then after beating him to a pulp he doesn't break Batman but actually spares him and realizes he must go after Scarecrow next.

Bane is one of my favorite Batman rouges, and I totally agree, that Knightfall is the best story.
They do need to do another live action Batman movie with Bane. He's appeared in two movies, and the writers messed him up both times.
1. Batman and Robin made him a mindless, venom powered brute, under the control of Poison Ivy.
2. The Dark Knight Rises does a lot better, but they remove the venom aspect, and give him that mask that...if I understood right...reduces the constant pain he suffers, from injuries he suffered, when he got the crap beat out of him. This gave him a pretty big weakness, right on his face.
I know they usually can't follow the comic story exactly, and need to change things, but...dang!
Bane is not my favourite villain but I do think he has some good stories that explore his complex nature. If only most of his adaptations outside comics would capture this complexity.

It's a shame adaptations never get Bane right. Despite the fact he'd only existed for 4 years at the time of Batman & Robin's release his character was established enough that he shouldn't have been an idiot henchman of Ivy in that film. Tom Hardy Bane was good until it was revealed he was working for Talia, DCAU Bane was one of the few villains BTAS did wrong. And Arkham Bane was only good in Origins.
The "machine" man is the main part I remember from the first story..
I found Bane to be a one-note character until Gail Simone gave him depth and personality in the pages of Secret Six.

I do feel like Bane is a bit underutilized a lot of writers forget he's a equal to Batman in strength *and* intelligent most write him as a dumb brute.

Speaking of him using the Bat Moniker, I'm hoping for any certain portrayal (movie (animated/live action) or television) of the Arkham Wars arc.
I actually liked how Bane actually took advantage of Batman No Kill rule to break him.
I love the fact that your videos get to the point and have a slight bit of creepiness to them!
But in the matter of Bane; I, as a fan, think he works as a great antithesis for Batman. Here is someone with a purely iron forged will, who may not have every facet of training Batman does, but a desire to survive and eventually conquer from an early age has made for a deadly opponent.

Man-Bat is a mainstream villain in my opinion.. He has been a main villain in everything except cinema. He was even the first villain to appear in the DCAU.

Knightfall was one of the first Batman stories I ever read. So I’ve always had a soft spot for Bane because of it. as a kid I was shocked to see Batman’s back get broken.
Wasn't Bane the protagonist in a miniseries called Bane of the Demon? Knightfall might be my fifth-favorite Bane story if I bothered making a list of favorite Bane stories. In how many stories have all of Batman's foes been released at once? I remember liking Kelly Jones' covers, but, unlike Batman 400, Knightfall doesn't have a section pencilled by Arthur Adams.
We saw a very good Bane during No Man's Land. Although more modern stories should make the cut. And no, I do not agree that the story with Batman as Bane's wannabe brother was significant because it showed a Bane out of character similar to the Batman of Frank Miller's All Star Line..he was guilty pleasure but out of character.... Bane is superior Intellect + Roided Muscle + No Mercy. Bane does not care being alone , he was gutting fellow inmates for breakfast. That Bane was gay.

Idk i think "i am Bane" is a cooler story then knightfall. Cause its basically Bane a beast on a mission as we love him and its basically knighyfall in the sense that instead of batman fighting all of arkams prisoners its Bane who fights all of arkams prisoners and he just walks threw EVERYONE. Its so cool.
I don't really like stories where the other rogues are treated like crap though - in Knightfall they all got their time to shine.
