This is really cool! What is the craziest type of fish you caught in the vedder river? How deep does the water go? How much do you usually catch each time you go fishing?
I wouldn't say there is anything crazy in there. I have caught COHO, Chinook, Chum, Pink, sockeye, pike minnow, rainbow trout, bull trout, steelhead and mountain whitefish. There are spots where the water might be 15 to 20 deep I'd suspect. Most is fairly shallow 1 to 5 feet deep. Every time I go I catch a different amount. Sometimes nothing, sometimes more than 10. Just depends on the day and what's around and weather/ water conditions.
Thanks... yeah this numb painful hands is terrible when its flaring up, but like you say I always have something going on. My Plastic Surgeon was supposed to call me last Monday, but I never got the call. So will have to contact the office and see what's going on. Would be nice to not have to suffer from this crazy cramping, painful hands during most of the year.
@@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures absolutely, it was nice not having the constant pain, mines in the middle of my wrist. Lasted about 4-5 months the started coming back. Been stubborn and need to contact my surgeon again at some point again. Never good timing it seems lol

What did you try last year? I use a range of soft beads with quite a bit of success. Usually sized 10 mm to 14 mm depending on lighting and how cloudy the water is. Think if the bead is harder or easier for you to see it probably is for the salmon too. So pick a bead that is easy for you do see in dirty or dark conditions. In bright conditions going smaller usually works better. I use a variety of colors but usually a rand of orange to pink. I like the ones with white mottled coloration as well. The key really has nothing to do with the bead though. You have to know where the bead is in the water column. It its dragging on the bottom you likely aren't catching anything. I try to keep that bead 1 to 2 feet off bottom. In deeper water it can even be up higher off bottom. I'd say this is the main issue of guys not being able hook fish with beads. Set the float shorter than you would think and then go longer. I change float length a lot till I start getting bites. That's my recommendations.

Well there generally are guys fishing the length of the canal. You will find them bunched together in the typically deeper spots where fish slow down a bit. To me it doesn't seen to matter where I fish since I generally fish the canal when fish are traveling through. So they have to pass every section. So I just try to find a spot away from the crowds. That's the goal if you ask me, but not many people do that. So usually open spots between the busy sections.
