Not sure why coaches saying no across the bow tackling or getting your head across and that's not true with Hawk tackling. You can still cross face tackle and the "Seahawk" way of tackling includes that as well. Its what shoulder you use in the tackle and what foot is forward determine whether your head is across or on the inside leg of the runner.
In very limited scenarios. This really isn’t an original Seahawks or rugby or any other reference or marketing technique: it’s a double reap or double leg takedown from wrestling/grappling. And it would be very rare to cross the face.
