That glazed donut you made in Blender has got me hungry!
In other news, I started with Maya (with school) but switched over to Blender with the release of 2.8 and haven't looked back since... although, I use the "industry standard" hotkey pre-set for Blender (essentially the Maya hotkeys) meaning tutorials get real confusing.
    I'd suggest giving a Zbrush/Sculptris a try too.

lol fun video. I started with Maya/C4D then switched to LightWave -> Modo and can't turn back from LW's workflow. Yes, you could do a donut in five minutes with LW/Modo, but like a commenter said, there is a bit of a learning curve. Regarding LW's GL preview when you subD the mesh, when you access the surface editor you can check smoothing - it also uses two subdividing algorithms for preview, a classical subpatch and Catmull-Clark, so results may vary. Torus creation: you constrain scale with control. For sprinkles, the instancer is in LW's Layout, and Modo is through replicators or instance painting.
I use Modo and it does have instability issues. I know that the team is seriously doing an overhaul rn.

Those are very complex software with years and years of development , don't expect to open one for the first time without knowing anything and create even a cube, not to mention a decent 3D model, it was fun though

Former C4D user, love the simplicity and the object list ui of it but currently rocking Maya for the more advance polygon controls. Yes I'm one of those hard surface lover and wanting to get my hands on Plasticity if I had the time to do so.

At this moment, what Maya has that C4D doesnt in terms of polygon modeling? Just curious really, cuz i love modeling.

@@bigw816 For example, at least from what I learned when I was using it few years ago, C4D can only change hard and soft edge shading by the Phong tag on one object, but not to change one specific edge. I don't have my laptop around rn but I think this says a lot.

@@bigw816 C4D is much more simpler with it's UI though, and it's extremely easy to create large amounts of object in a short period of time, plus C4D's boolean operation is less easy to be broken like in Maya. I felt like it didn't ever really disappoint me.

I would have loved to see how you built the donut with Houdini. But then the video would probably have been a couple of days long.🤣
