As the owner of three older Porsches, one in 1975, one in 1989, and a 2001 Turbo… I can tell you that lift off oversteer is a very serious thing in all 911s. Even the new GT threes. Except of course the mid engine one. But then your SIM my guess is it tries to kill you a lift off oversteer. Typically you can run a lot less differential to help you with rotation on entry, because the engine weight helps you. It’s a different driving technique that can be very fast. The big advantage to a 911 is the same way to try to kill you on entry gives you great exits. That’s how it works in the real world with a 911, so you might play with that in the Sim.
"no time gained" also counts for 1 incident point Dave. So That is also why you lost SR. Not denying the punting in last couple of races, but just mentioning it for further improvement :)
Hi there! I was the 11 merc that was punted at the end of the big straight and then buy the group of the honda due to another crash at the same time, that made my car really bad (50+ sec of repairs) and then, since my pace dropped due to damage i was punted again by the audi that was in front of you I was a bit mad with the situation...
I did a race after in the porsche i loved it a lot more than the merc, and with that 2nd race came ou of rookies too!

Definitely agree with everything you mentioned here; keep a cool head when racing and you will always find yourself in a better spot in the race.
We all like to have a vent from time to time Dave and people shouldn't see it as a personal attack on their favourite sim or series.
I get annoyed with people and I'm sure they get annoyed with me at times, but it is what it is.
Keep the passion as a hobby isn't worth a damn without it.

I enjoyed that one, Dave. I like that track. (You can get into a nice rhythm on the esses.) Personally I don't have time to progress both on ACC and iRacing, so I think I'm going to cancel my iRacing subscription - ACC is enough for me. I hope I can get to LFM soon. I'm working on it, but in the meantime I always find time to watch your races. Keep it up!

Shame LFM don't make you do rookies in the GT4s or one of the slower cup classes..
ACC and IR have the same issues where you put newish drivers out in GT3 cars (a Ferrari Fixed in IR) and then people act surprised when the driving standards are awful
Great drive Dave, but man oh man do I hate the wiggly esses at the beginning of the lap on this track. I love the rest of the track, but that wiggly bit I hate with a vengeance, lol.

Nice video and good race, good vibes. That pacing at the start takes dicipline. Good sparring partners in those Audi's too.
You should be able to voice your concerns. And it's too bad if people are offended by it. We also need to remind ourselves that sometimes we really do have to be very clear what we are critiziing so there really can't be any missunderstandings, after all it's the internet and people are easily offended. Good to see you're enjoying yourself on lfm, I know I am (except this week cuz... cota) :D
oh btw, looks like the HUD in ACC is a bit off center, if you look at the right side of the video some of the HUD is hidden, maybe because of the edit or maybe just a setting in Acc, not that it matters too much but still :)

Good points about being passionate and wanting the same thing, which is basically good competitive, clean racing. I'm fairly new to sim racing but I have invested in good kit and thoroughly enjoy it, can be frustrating but I keep plugging away. Being ex job too, love the channel. One quick question, class one? Keep up the good work buddy.
My rating in last week went from 9.2 to 6.03. I thought SPA is the worst on rating. Boy i was wrong. COTA is the king.

Unfortunately driving standards can be poor at times in all sims, for the most part people are trying to do their best whilst improving their race craft. Some people are exceptions to this. I agree that we are all looking for the perfect sim, had to laugh that the moment after you said that the game was aha " warning for track limits" 😆. Keep enjoying the racing Dave as we like watching 👍

you are spot on dave, some drivers are far too aggressive, and will do anything to get ahead, at any cost. think you have to show consideration for others, drive like you do... and not just send it at every turn. it ruins the game for everyone else...that type of player should go back to maio kart

I don't know how SR works on LFM but I am surprised you are at 4 with a SA of 99 in the game. My last week was awful like yours (excepted I am only able to race at most once a day and quite late in the evening). I didn't have a single race on Spa where someone didn't crash into me but I didn't lose any SR, I actually gained and I am now at 5.66. I am gutted though as I couldn't get any "normal" result. On Kyalami and Barcelona the 2 weeks before, I only had perfect races with close/hard racing for few laps with gentlemen and didn't get hit on first lap. So I don't know what happened with Spa. I hope this week will be better, only problem is I need to practice first as COTA is new to me.
Tyres were about .5 of a psi low all round mate. Acc is very sensitive want to be aiming for around 27.5 mate should have more grip then 👍🏻 great content as always

I like ACC. The feel, the view, the sounds.. Can't play in LFM though because i'm in Australia and my internet isn't so good, therefore ping is too high :(
I think your problem was being so good. I'm assuming before your demotion you were often in split 1? Well I'm usually in the bottom split and I never have the same problems you had and I think it's because the people in top split are way more competitive. Don't get me wrong I race well, but the reason why my rank is low and in bottom split is because I raced in GT4 for a long time and you are always racing with aliens in single split races. So I like the position I'm in cause I'm racing full grids of gentlemen racers all similarly happy to be in the bottom split away from the aliens and the drivers taking advantage of setup tricks like the negative rear camber trick and god knows how many others.

Nothing wrong with getting angry when other drivers behave badly..and they did behave badly. We are not children ffs. We can all see how these people drove. It's not about liking or disliking ACC or LFM. It's not about being a child who gets offended. We all just want respect. It's not complicated :)

My theory is that it’s really entitlement that is at the core of the poor driving standards. People watch Lewis / Max etc in F1 and think I can do that! I’ll try ACC / iracing! Completely green and entitled, they inevitably cause absolute havoc. I want sim racing to grow but we can do without drivers with attitudes like that….
A lot of Gran Turismo players have been creeping into LFM races and you know how those drivers are
Not so sure, have a watch at DTM, that is now GT3 as well and is nearly a bumpercar series, and has been fo quite a long time imo. So not sure it is just F1 to blame here.

I just want very very strict guidelines and *very strict* enforcement for drivers who don’t take it seriously. Respect other drivers and pretend that you would actually owe thousands of dollars if you crashed. I get it, its a game, its just pixels. But, When I get on the game filled with pixels I want clean racing with respectful drivers. Not be dove every single lap and get punted, or they just absolutely miss the braking point and get out in front of you and screw everything up for no reason.
Why displays a 2.26 predicted and best but 2.10 last? This happens both dash and overlay.
Invalid laps, laps with warnings, don't count so the 2:10 (2:09.895) lap will show "LAST" because it was the last lap completed but can't be credited for the time. The "PREDICTED" works off of the best valid lap. Since the 2:26 lap is the best valid lap so far that one is used for the calculations.
Only valid lap he set was a 2.26 so that's the delta. At 14min mark he sets a valid lap so it changes again for the new delta

Just a few races should see you out no problem. Just focus on being clean and forget about racing just for now. Use them as observation races 😁

Takes 2 to make an incident. There is always a risk allowing someone on your inside. It’s usually best to try and hold the inside and leave a space if you’re trying to reduce the risk of getting taken out. Passing on the outside in these public lobbies is an absolute death sentence.

I gave up racing in lfm last night. Thought everything will be better in silver and bronze. But it's not. Sure i had good battles and fun. But after all i will stay in my leagues with ppl who respect each other.

You are a bit timid when it comes to overtakes you probably should drive slightly more aggressively especially when making overtakes like you said you drive too polite, I have the same problem I’m too nice on track as well
graphics look 10 years old......are the physics that great that you tolerate the terrible driving?
The graphics (specialy the mirrors) are well turned down. ACC looks very good however at bright daylight it looks arguably at it's worst.
About the recommendation at the end there, how starting from the back works with the ELO system on LFM? Isn't skipping the quali going to hurt the ELO rating? Let's say, based on your rating and SoF, you should finish 5/20, but you start from back and you only manage to finish 10/20. Won't that hurt the rating, regardless of gaining 10 positions, because you are still 5 positions off what the ELO system would expect you to finish on? From what I understand from LFM manual on ELO system mechanics, quali does not bare any importance on determining the expected finish position, it just gives you the opportunity to hopefully start as close as possible to that position on grid and have more chances to finish as expected, or better.
Or, Dave was referring only at starting from the back to stay safe and improve SR, even at the expense of ELO?

@@davecamyt Fortunately I was out of rookies in 2 days time. I'm bronze because my ELO hovers around ~1300 since I'm not a particularly fast driver. The SR though is 7.24 and rising :) and I love that!
Just to give my own perspective on this, most people I see in simracing (not only ACC) are not racers by attitude, but rather hotlappers. Lots of fast drivers outthere, but good bunch of them can't race along other people safely. This is precisely why I much prefer to look after my SR and not focus too much on ELO. But, I know most people actually do quite the opposite, that Senna gap mentality.... without actually being Senna in speed and skill.
People only respond to things they risk losing:
In real life racing, stupid stuff can kill you. Losing your life (or killing/hurting others) is probably the strongest incentive to make you race cleanly and safely.
iRacing comes at a close second. It won't kill you, but it does affect the other thing people care the most: their money. So, iRacing being so expensive as it is, after spending so much money on it, more people will pay more attention to their racing, in order to protect their investment. Plus, expensive stuff keeps more casual gamers away, leaving more serious guys to it. And still, one could say it's not enough...
All the other sims lack serious consequences for stupid actions. Sure, your rating will drop, but so what? That won't dither most people (especially rookies) from doing everything (and I mean everything!) they can to earn a position. I guess GT Sport was/is the best to exemplify this attitude, where so many people actively "worked" the system to their advantage, avoiding penalties while hurting the others and gaining positions on track. Is that attitude/mentality that we find a lot in simracing today. I'm not saying COVID is at fault, it's truly great to have so many full grids all the time in iR and LFM, but obviously simracing is not that niche anymore, and this also has some... (for lack of any other word) downsides.
BTW, shorter sprints tend to attract more casual and less involved drivers. You could give longer races a try, what do you think? The SimRaceShop GT3 and LFM Pro (when SR goes high enough) seem quite a lot better. The other day, @Jardier had one of the closest, cleanest and incredible fight in recent racing, @COTA :D
@@brotakul You and me both then, took me longer to get out of rookies, but I did it in the mandatory 10 races. Like you I'm not the fastest of drivers, but there are always people crashing out due to being overconfident on their own skill-level which means I end up mid-pack most of the time anyway because I'm constistent and stay out of trouble. So far I haven't had a single race with negative SR which shows it can be done if you avoid taking too much risk. I'm still learning and I take it slow to learn, and try not to ruin someone elses race while doing so :)
